NaNo Thoughts... and a few questions

This will be my first NaNo and I'm excited.

Originally, I was going to semi-cheat and use the Narcissism/Vanessa world I created in LJ Idol since I've said time and time again that I want to turn that into a novel. Then I realized I was struggling with some major plot ideas and it may be one to think about a bit. Not one to attempt for NaNo because it has serious flaws which will likely hang me up and with NaNo, hangups aren't good. I have asked for help reconciling them and several people are struggling too... so it isn't just me, and I think this one may need to be thought out in more depth before writing.

So instead, I am going with a world I created from a dream back in Season 7 of LJ Idol. I only wrote one entry about it, but I always had a whole world, all the characters, in my head. It's dystopian, of course, and darker. I think part of the reason I struggle with the other one? It isn't exactly in my wheelhouse. It's not nearly as dark and gritty. This one may have more horror elements in it along with the sci-fi/fantasy. I am going to create an outline this week though I have a big chunk in my head and part of me could start right now. It's calling to me and everything. But I will prepare and start on time.

With all this in mind though, I have a question for the readers out there. You don't have to be a writer to answer, and even if you are a writer... I'd like you to think about what you like to read instead. It's more for my curiosity and won't change anything with my idea. I've just wondered what people think about these types of things and thought I'd ask.

With the first question, I mean where you might be seeing the world from one person for part of the story, and then from someone else later on. I'm told that George R.R Martin is one author I can think of off hand that does this successfully (I haven't read him yet, but I'd say he's pretty successful if you ask me).

And please, discuss in comments! I would love to hear your thoughts in more detail!I'd love to hear the pros/cons of each and your arguments if you prefer one way or the other (writers and readers).

Meh. I never really noticed if it happened or not

Sometimes it can be done well, but it's tough

I don't like it. I prefer reading one POV for the entire novel
