sucky day until....

I am sorry I have been gone, things have been crazy. Our group got denied the funding for our business and it was because of some technical issues. So bad news first thing this morning. The career fair sucked, everyone looked down upon me because I am not an engineer. I thought today was going to be sucky, but then I got a phone call.

I GOT ACCEPTED IN CLEMSON UNIVERSITY!

I am too excited to write much, just waiting for James to get home from a meeting to celebrate, so here is what I posted in Myspace, just copied it right out to explain.

I am so friggin excited right now. Dr. Farris, my contact at Clemson University just called me and I got accepted into Clemson for the Masters in Real Estate Development program! I am literally shaking from excitement. I also got a very rare offer for a research analyst position which will pay me $5000 a year and I get to do real estate research! The acceptance rate is literally 20%, and somehow I got in! Only like 2 or 3 people get the real estate research analyst position also, so that is awesome!

This means my dream of owning my own development company is one step further. Want to know what makes it even more exciting? I will get an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas next year and stay in a fancy hotel and get to see the city while attending the ULI conference. Then, I get to tour the resorts on the coasts of North Carolina and South Carolina for a week, including Hilton Head Island, Myrtle Beach and more, and again, they pay to put us up in a nice hotel so we get to see the resort development side of things (my actual area of interest!)

As long as financial aid works out, it is expensive to attend the school since it is one of the only programs in the U.S. South Carolina is freakin awesome, I swear! When we went down there over Thanksgiving, it was so beautiful. It is at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, not far from the Smoky Mountains. Only a couple hours to the ocean, and the weather is wonderful! They rarely ever get snow, maybe once a year, if even that. Usually the weather is in the 50's or so. They do have all four seasons, but a mild winter, which is exactly what I am looking for. Plus, the town is awesome!
