Well

I am in Utah once again. Actually I've been here for a week, but yes. Classes start on the 4th or 5th of September. I don't remember which.

In other news, I'm getting a new cell phone. I'm not sure when, but some time in the future. Basically when the minutes on my current phone run out...I guess. Tracfone is convenient (and cheap) if all you're going to do is send and receive text messages. Otherwise other prepaid services are better...for example, T-Mobile. I did some research, and it's the best for prepaid. I'm not going to have a regular service because for one, I have commitment issues, and two, I can't justify spending $30+/month for something I don't use very often. And I don't have the money to do that anyway. :-P

I have my new phone picked out, though. As long as the instant online rebate thing lasts for a while longer... it's red. Or at least I think it is. It better not be dark pink or something.

My MSN/Windows Live Messenger recently became "Qwest Messenger by Windows Live". I don't recall installing any update...surely it can't just be me. I don't want it to be Qwest. I don't have Qwest. I don't wish to have Qwest. I want my old bleeding messenger back. -_-

Paint Shop Pro

To make a long story short, I find myself in want of an image editing program for my new(er) laptop. I have Paint Shop Pro 7 on my old laptop and the family computer, but it's a hassle to go back and forth to computers. So I have now found PSP 7 and PSP 8.1 on ebay. I don't like the newer/newest versions of PSP (from Corel), or I'd get one of them. Or at least I tried PSP 10 I really didn't like it much. So which do you think I should get? PSP 7 or 8.1? Or would you recommend something entirely different? Thank you.

Also, happy birthday Marina! :D

I'm going to a play tonight with a "friend". Interestingly, this outing seems to have become remarkably similar to the format of a date.

1. He's picking me up (which is a first)
2. We're going to eat somewhere
3. Then we're going to the play

Yep. I'm not sure what to think. lol

Note to self: never watch "A Passage to India" again, unless you wish to feel empty inside.

That movie really wasn't helpful. It made my numbness numb. The ending was bittersweet, but...ehh. Terribly depressing.

It was rather similar to "To Kill a Mockingbird" so now I have to go see which book was written first.

I didn't go to church today. That pretty much means I MUST go to church every other week this month, or else I get kicked out of BYU. Apparently I signed a contract...

I was actually planning on going, too. It just didn't happen. Sometimes I wake up, sometimes I don't. I'm just glad I don't have any morning classes.

The Scary One (my new name for a girl on my floor who insists on making me go to various activities and things) dropped by and made me go to the Morris Center to eat. Ehh. The salad was good, but that was about it. I hate cafeteria food.

I have been planning on going to the Creamery to get some food for 5 weeks. I guess my procrastination spills over to things besides school and writing.

Yesterday Laura called and we talked for two hours. The second hour was mostly spent discussing whether or not AFI is emo. In my opinion, they are totally emo. She doesn't think so...but then what does she know? :-P (Laura loves AFI, and I...do not.)

Well, it's been a while. Let's see. I am now nineteen. Big whoop-dee-doo. Although it feels somewhat strange knowing I'll be twenty at my next birthday.

I was talking to an anonymous suicidal guy on facebook (who is/was attending BYU) for about a week, but he absolutely lost it. He said last night was possibly "the night", and deactivated his account. Rather sad. He always went on about how he had no friends, but he wouldn't let me be his friend. I hope he hasn't gone and done it. He knew/knows better.

Last night I watched the most bizarre film. It was called "Egg". It's basically a series of awkward situations. Very weird but funny.

If I didn't know better, I'd think I was bipolar.

Yesterday, I got 3 hours of sleep. I did a bunch of studying, took my Nutrition test, and got some bad news. But I was rather loopy. The news didn't bother me. The test wasn't so bad. I was in a good mood. It was weird. lol. I've decided the sleep deprivation was responsible.

The news still isn't bothering me...it should have been a crushing blow, but I just really don't care, I guess.

So...I decided to buy a voice recorder as an early birthday present for myself. It's pretty awesome.

But when I went through the whole online ordering thing, there was apparently some problem charging the card. So I went to my bank site to check out my account, and discovered that Sony charged me twice. So $400 was removed from my checking account, which then had a negative balance of $23. I had to hurry up and transfer some cash from my savings.

Ehh...

I have emailed Sony and hope they get back to me soon...geez.

I've noticed over the years that people have trouble with me when they try and use humor. They'll say something "funny", and if I don't respond favorably, or if I try and play off their joke, they will say, "I was joking." Or something to that effect. At which point I always say, "I know." Because yes, I do know. Really.

So stop telling me!

Oh my gosh. Today in Psychology, this guy made a small presentation about a research project he is conducting. When I first saw him come in I kept staring at him from time to time, and then of course I'd look away when he met my gaze. Why did I keep looking at him, you ask? Because he looked like David Tennant. Yes, The Doctor. Only, this guy was a bit more attractive (as well as being younger). ;)

It was...incredible.

One day of orientation almost done, 2.4 to go. Actually, Saturday is rather sparse, so perhaps it is more like 1.8 days left. A three day orientation. It is incredible.

So yes, I am at BYU...in my teeny tiny dorm room. I have a single room; no roommate, which will definitely be easier since I'm taking evening classes this semester. My earliest class starts at 3:00 PM, and two days I start at 5:00 PM. How awesome is that?? lol

I have yet to meet someone who seems appealing in the way of friend material. Hopefully I'll meet someone cool soon, or I'll just have to read, write, and watch movies all day. :P There have been a couple that at first I thought might be okay, but whoa. One reminded me of a person who I was a friend of (she wasn't my friend) for two years before she moved. Very scary personality.

Don't go thinking I'm all closed-minded and judgmental, though. I've only met like...15 people, and a bunch were guys...I have problems talking to guys. :P

Oh, how sad. I am such a procrastinator. I should be packing right now...after all, I leave tomorrow after my eye appointment. But I don't want to pack. So I don't do it.

So far I have about half of my clothes packed, my dvds piled up, and my books piled up. No great feat considering I don't have a large selection of clothes...and the piling was easy. Plus, I did that all yesterday. lol

That is the entire root of my procrastination problem, though. I don't want to do stuff...so I don't do it...until the last moment, that is.

I almost ruined my perfect driving record. Almost.

I went to the fair with Laura last night. However, when we went to the mall to get food we had to go to Hot Topic and MusicLand (both her idea). So by the time we got there, it was like 8:30 PM. The rides were cool. I never felt incredibly exhilerated, but...it's a fair, not an amusement park. Laura is a good ride companion because she isn't against the wild rides. :) Even though the Inverter apparently scared her...

So we left the city at about Midnight after getting some food at Wendy's (the fast food place). About 5 miles from our town the deer emerged. I had this thought: "Wouldn't it be pathetic if I hit a deer five miles from home?" And then...not 30 seconds later, I saw a deer in the middle of the road. I braked. Laura cried, "It's a DEER!" After avoiding and passing it, I calmly said, "I know. I was braking." And we continued on our way.

It was then that she informed me that her number one fear is dying in a car accident.

She asked me what my number one fear is, and I couldn't answer her. I hadn't thought about it. So I thought about it...and I still couldn't answer her. I really don't know.

Well, it seems that I'm leaving for Utah on Thursday. I'm feeling very blah at the moment. No excitement, no fear, no nothing. Just blah.

I woke up feeling crappy this morning. I didn't quite have a headache, but my head wasn't quite right. So then I went back to sleep...and I didn't end up going to church. Kind of sad because it would have been my last day there. But at least the Young Women are going to have some...thing...tomorrow. We're going to Dairy Queen. It's their farewell, or something.

I think I need to watch a movie. I hate feeling like this.

I usually go to an eye doctor in the city, but my mother decided I should try out the guys in town, so I did.

Yesterday I went in for my eye appointment. I was waiting in the room and this guy comes in...he looked about 23, but my guess is that he's 25. Yes, he is my doctor. He was nice, but he seemed a bit nervous.

Anyway, at the end he hands me this pamphlet called "Your Doctor's Personal Recommendations:" for glasses (I wear contacts, but I usually have back-up glasses...and I lost my last pair. They vanished mysteriously about 3 months ago.). And then he says, "I'd recommend the 'Protection Package' because you are...young..er." I stared at him blankly and looked at the pamphlet. Below "Protection Package" it said "Recommended for children." Oh, gee. Thanks. What, do you think I'm 10?? I never had the whole extra warranty thing even when I was young. I take good care of my things.

So today I went to Wal-Mart and bought some stuff for college, along with 2 CDs and the Kingdom of Heaven DVD. The lady didn't check my ID, which restored some of my faith in humanity.

I don't get it. Ever since I was 3 years old, people have thought I was older than my actual age. Now it's like unless I put on a bunch of make-up they think I'm 15. I'm sorry that I'm slim and not bursting out of my clothing. -_-

On a side-note, I was excited for about 10 seconds today. I saw The Village DVD at Wal-Mart for $9.44. Sweet. Nice and cheap! But I picked it up...and it was fullscreen. For those of you who don't know, I'm a widescreen-er all the way. Fullscreen cuts out part of the movie! Blasphemy!! So I didn't buy it. It was very sad. :(

I hate making decisions. It is even in my userinfo. lol. But it seems that I must.

Either I get a new laptop with a printer and wireless networking and ethernet, or I keep my current laptop (purchased 2-3 years ago) and get a wireless network card and ethernet card installed and buy a printer. And a backpack. And a webcam. And a flash drive. Which all came with the $1500 configuring I did on my potential new laptop. Oh, and then there is the anti-virus software I have to have.

The second option would of course be cheaper, but then I'd be stuck with an older machine with stuff that isn't as good. This would be okay...survivable, as long as I don't need to take it to class with me. lol

My dad said he would pitch in something like $800 for a new laptop...but that was before I mentioned that my current laptop could be made workable for college. Now he probably won't. How unfortunate.
