Lucy, I'm Home!

Eight days without an entry. How sad.

The internet died for some reason the first two days, and then when it was fixed my brother was on non-stop. On the 27th I went to Youth Conference, and that lasted through the 29th. When I got back my brother was still on the computer. Honestly. >.<

I saw Whale Rider on PBS on the 24th. heh. I was going to be watching Mystery, but for some reason it wasn't on, and Whale Rider was on instead...so I watched that. It's actually very good.

My time without the computer has been spent rather well, I think. I've been working on a fanfiction, and watching a lot of tv (or more specifically, movies). Yay for movies!

Last night I was going to watch Mystery with Inspector Morse (I usually watch Inspector Lynley), but it had this "viewer discretion is advised" thing, and my mom saw it and was like, "better not watch it!" *sigh* It's on PBS! Supposedly it was too violent...but then the rating was just PG for violence. Sheesh. So I watched the last 30 minutes of I Am Sam (which I hadn't seen before). And then I snuck in a few minutes of Inspector Morse when my mom was out of the room.

Really eventful...

At Youth Conference (it's kind of this church camp thing that this year was held at a campus 1.5 hours away from my town) they had 2 dances. I hate dances. I don't dance. Seriously. But all my plans for getting out of them were foiled (I won't get into that now), so I ended up going to both of them. Luckily the 1st one was pretty easy for me to basically sit and talk to friends the whole time. Unluckily, I had to dance 3 times at the 2nd one. The first guy was actually very pleasant; his name was Marshal. Sadly, I am a horribly conversationalist when I don't know someone well, so there were many awkward silences which he would always try to fill; poor guy. The second and third guys were...different. I never got their names. lol. The third guy...his body remained very close to mine (it was quite unnerving, actually), and his head was forever like 3 inches away. Scary. I happened to have run into him (not literally, of course) when I was escaping the dance with the excuse to go get a friend's camera. He stopped me so I had to talk to him. Eventually I got the camera and returned. He was the last dance. It was the last dance of the evening and he finally spotted me (curses!) and asked to dance. So of course I couldn't say no, because you just don't. It was a very quiet dance; he said, "So you're 17, right?" (he had asked me that when he stopped me during my escape) and I said, "Yes." And that was all. So when the music ended, I had to pry (I am not exaggerating) my hand from his grip. During the dance he was like slowly clamping down on me. Then I hurried away. lmao. Scary, scary guy.

I must be losing my mind. When Marshal came up, one of my friends swears I said "What?" (before he said anything). But I don't remember saying that! Unfortunately, there were no other witnesses, so I don't know for sure. Gah. If it's true, he must think I'm evil and weird and belligerent. He was kind of cute, too...though he's not the type I'm usually attracted too. *sigh* Well, it's not like I'll ever see him again. He lives in North Dakota, and he's going off to college this year.
