It wasn’t like Hal hadn’t done his own fair share of looting. When everyone else was doing it, there wasn’t much of a reason to hold back. Generally, unless you were going for the pharmacies, it was more trouble than it was worth getting the iron bars off the windows. But these assholes had politely done the work for him.

Hal killed the motor. He readied his rifle and did the usual pebble check.

One foot. Plip.

Five feet. Plip.
