Creating An Access Database To Use<\/h2>\n
\nGenerally when you start up access, it gives you the option of opening an
\nexisting database or creating a new one.
\nFor the purpose of this tutorial, im going to assume you are going to create a
\nnew database.<\/div>\n
\nStart up Access. If Access is already running, close all other Access
\ndatabases currently open. This is just to make the tutorial a bit easier.
\nNow, create a new Access Database. You can call this database whatever you like.
\nJust make sure you remember the name and the location you save it to, as you will need
\nit later to create the ODBC connection. Into this database create the table ‘People’.
\nInto people, add the fields of name and specific types as follows:<\/div>\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Field Name<\/center><\/th>\n
Field Type<\/center><\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
Index<\/center><\/td>\n
Auto Number<\/center><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
FirstName<\/center><\/td>\n
Text<\/center><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
LastName<\/center><\/td>\n
Text<\/center><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
PhoneNumber<\/center><\/td>\n
Number<\/center><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
\nYou dont need to populate the table as we will do that later on.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
