PHP script to import LiveJournal Comments

I'm putting together a drupal module to import comments from LJ to my blog (the reason can be found here). Before I reinvent the wheel, has someone here written the code to pull down comment and put them into a table? Some googling has found a number of wordpress scripts I can convert but I'd rather have some straight PHP code and drupalize it. If not, I'll post my work when I'm done with it.
