Wow, has it been a long time since I've last written in this little box. I'm considering updating my journal on a regular (rofl) basis again, but I'm not quite sure who still views or updates Live Journal anymore. So, if anyone - friend or stalker - happens to drop by and read this, please leave me a quick comment! ^_^

Carpe Diem to the Max

Apparently, I tried to seize too many diems at once, and they all viciously fought back. x_x

Recently, our semester project group has been working insanely to crush any other group that would attempt to outshine us. (It's what happens when you have 2 PI+ kids in the same group.) I happen to be the "tech" person of the group, and most everyone knows how sadistic computers can be. In an effort to not point fingers at anyone in our group though, I'll simply say that I've barely gotten any sleep for the past week or so.

And, as Friday the 13th rolled by, it turns out that, besides having to present the semester project today, I have 3 additional tests to take during the day as well. I never really got around to all that though, because I upchucked during chemistry, got sent to the nurse, and went home laughing and crying at the same time.

There's not that much to explain about upchucking in class, so I'll just skip to the nurse part. She took my temperature, found it to be 99 degrees, and told me I had a fever. Well, I argued with her that I really had to stay, because I had a semester presentation to perform today. She simply shook her head and offered soothing, condescending words about how I should not walk around school with a fever. While I kept trying to find a way out of that office, the nurse called my mom, e-mailed Biggs, and sent a few notes to a few of my other group members, informing them of my illness.

Eventually, when my mom came, I was totally afraid that my group might have to present without me - which was quite impossible, not because I'm being vain, but because everyone played an important role and one less person would throw everything off. So when my mom finally got me out of there, I was in tears, thinking I'd let the whole group down. And well, then I started laughing because I realized how hilarious the situation was - A kid crying, all because he had to go home and couldn't stay in school. My mom was afraid I went insane.

Well, Biggs called me a bit later. She basically called me crazy and told me to sleep...gotta love Biggs. So yeah, just felt like I needed to share and explain all this, 'cause some of my group members don't know about this - and, really, it's rather entertaining now that I look back on it. Well, I'd rather not admit that I was in tears, but that just makes the laughing part lose its significance.

Anyways, I really shouldn't even be up and writing all this. I should be getting more sleep right now, but I guess I just had to seize the moment. ^_^

A Little Past Christmas

It's a bit late, but I guess I'll still say Merry Christmas Everyone! ^_^;; My bowels were attacked by unfresh sushi yesterday (Christmas) night, and I've been upchucking all last night. -_-

It's been quite a while since I updated. This always seem to happen to me; I get a journal, I update a bunch, and then I neglect the journal. Well, I was cleaning my room last night (before I had to camp out next to the toilet) and I found some things that I could update my journal with!

Here are just some interesting old birthday cards that I've found lying around my room:

This one's a nice drawing Karen made for me. ^_^

Elaine doesn't seem like the type to draw kitties...so I thought it was interesting. XD

At first glance, I thought this was from Michelle... turns out it was from Eric. o_o;;

This was written on a 3x5 index card...I'm surprised I even still keep it.

A holiday greeting card from Tim!

Birthday card from Joy - the inside says, "It's sex isn't it - Wild Kinky Sex." ^_^;;

That's all I have to share.
Quickie Update

How's school going for everyone? It's finally Labor Day Weekend, and I actually have some time to update. Not sure what to update on though.

If you haven't already, please take the time to add oephemere to your friends list. You all know how I take pictures during the school day? Yeah, the good pictures will eventually end up there, if you want to see them.

Michelle and I are leading a volunteer group at Sunrise Assisted Livings. If you need some volunteer hours, or want to volunteer for the sake of kindness, just contact us or find one of us during the school day. The most current event planned is next weekend, September 10th and 11th. We'll be doing some gardening for the elderly from 8am~12pm on both days. (So for those of you scared of interacting with old people <s>kljaich</s>...there won't be any of that. ^_^) You do not need to stay for four hours straight if you do not want to. Just tell us when you plan on starting and ending, so that we can plan everything out. Thanks.

That's all.

Wait, not yet. Quick story.

I'm sure you all remember that Tuesday night, when hundreds of school children were desperately wishing for a teacher strike. Well, that night, I received a call from Jeff, and he was asking me whether he should bother with APUSH summer work or not. (It turned out that he had to pull an all-nighter to finish it. XD) My response was that he should. I also added that life tended to follow the path of greatest irony. So I had figured that what'll happen was that we will all stay up really really late, and wake up the next morning to find that there was a strike. Of course, what really happens is that we stay up really really late, and wake up to find that we still had to go to school. Path of greatest irony. Life wins the round again. -_- ~*sigh*

Just following the herd. I typed in my answers into Google's image search, and picked out pictures. I also tried to make the pictures vague though, so feel free to take a guess and see how well you know me. <s>I bet no one can get more than 8.</s>

Note: All pictures were resized to a width of 300 pixels, with height ratio maintained. No other modifications were made.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

First of all, my deepest apologies to Tim and Michelle. I told you guys that I wasn't going to the midnight HP6 event, but it turned out that I got to go. I, myself, did not know that I would be able to go, until a phone call that came at around 11 PM. Apparently, Joy's parents said that they'd be happy to pick me up to go to the HP6 event downtown with them, so I was able to go. Please try to understand that I honestly did not plan on going to the HP6 event. Sorry!

[[Semi-Quote]]
Anyways, here's an idea Joy and I agreed on: HP6 message boards. While you're reading the book, I want to know your thoughts. Write the page number and a short blurb, or whatever's running through your mind. You can do it here or on your own LJ - it'd just be fun to see what we're all thinking. However, if you are posting anywhere but your own lj, beware of spoilers. Actually, if you haven't read or gotten HP6 yet, beware of spoilers. you have been warned! XD
[[End Semi-Quote]]

As for me, I really dislike "active reading". What I'm thinking about doing is reading through the story as fast as I can, and then expressing my thoughts by going through the story a second time. XD Except, I'm pretty sure that, when you guys get your copies, most of the comments will be just that - comments. I intend to draw and post images that flash through my mind as I read. It's just a thought though. I might get lazy and decide to stick with comments. ^__^

Restless Night

It's so late, but I can't sleep. I'm tired and drained, but my mind still races. -_- ~*sigh* I honestly don't have anything in particular to do at the moment, but I just have the sensation that something needs to be done. I was just replying to Jeff's comment in the last entry, and his comment reminded me of a particular experience that I had at a water park. I suppose I'll take the time to talk about it then.

[[Experiences...]]

I was at a water park with my relatives over in Taiwan. My cousins pointed out this gigantic water mattress to me, and they wanted to go on it too. The thing was, this mattress was enormously huge. It had over a hundred people jumping on it. It looked rather disturbing to me, since it was just a huge mass of people tumbling around, but (being the responsible child that I was XD) I had to look over my cousins, so I followed them on it.

At first, it was incredibly fun and exhilarating, because the thing was just so darn huge and jiggly. After a moment though, I realized that most of the guys on the mattress were just trying to take advantage of the girls...as usual. You know, 'jump, jump, jump...oops, I fell and landed on top of you *wink wink*'...that sort of thing. -_-;;

Well, right after I noticed, I suddenly felt this death grip on my arm. I glanced down, and realized that this girl was latched onto my arm, trying to pull herself up onto her feet. Besides the fact that my face was turning bright red, I was desperately trying to tug my arm away from her. She just kept on giggling and continued to yank on my arm. Needless to say, I only helped her regain her balance just long enough, so that she would loosen her grip. The moment she did, I bolted, screaming at my cousins to get off as well. During my escape, I had another encounter with another girl, but I can't recall it anymore - my mind seems to have suppressed the memory. And my cousins wondered why my face was soo red... x_x;;

<s>And this is why I think that girls are psychotic and evil. XDDD</s>

[[Colored Mage!]]

I wanted to have some more practice with coloring, so I decided to grab Jon's art and 'colorize' it. It was a really quick work, so I didn't pay as much attention to the shadows and stuff as I did on my Yoruichi drawing. But I think it still looks pretty nice. <s>Mainly because Jon already drew in a lot of the shadows</s> ^_^

All the drawing credit goes to Jon though, remember that. XD By the way, Jon, please tell me if you don't like me displaying your work like this. If you feel like I've stolen your art or anything of that sort, I can delete all the files from my computer anytime. ^_^;;

A New Entry

There. I updated. Wheee~ XD Alright, fine, I'll add some more. Mmm, art-wise, I'm currently busy with coloring my Yoruichi picture. It's amazing how much you can learn while you're doing something. ^_^ Just when I learn some new tricks with photoshop though, I realize that I can't apply them to my picture (unless I'm willing to redo all the work again. -_-). So, I'm really eager to get this picture done to work on a new one. XD But at the same time, I'm feeling too lazy to start on a new piece of art...it's quite a dilemma. ^_^;;

Please be patient if you're expecting an icon from me... I've been trying to gather some more resources for my photoshop, so I haven't started on the actual making of the icons yet. But I'll be sure to make them look really nice when I do get to it! ^_^ ~sumimasen!

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. (I'd agree, especially the 'straightforward' part. ^_^)

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes. (I guess...)

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you meet that person. (I'm big on loyalty.)

The seriousness of your love:
You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love. (I'm not good at saying 'no' to people though. -_-)

Your views on education
You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job. (Yup, I'm a delinquent. Yay? XD)

The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success. (*nods along*)

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying. (*beams*)

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel. (Very true. Angry Kevin is evil. XD)

Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long. (Ahaha...ADHD? XD)

[[Update]]

Wheeeee! It's finally done! Well, technically, after putting in the ocean, I was going to add some sand and shtuff, but... I got lazy, decided 'the heck with it', and posted it up. XDDD Along with the picture, I'll provide a few fun facts! Total Layers used: 21 // Total project time: Toooo long. x_x // Resources: Peer Critique, Photoshop, Mouse (I wonder if a tablet would help... ^_^;;)

Comments <s>and critiques</s> would be great! (Bah, I spent too much time on this to be listening to critiques XD) Thanks to Joy for the beach ball idea, Karen for prodding me to get this done, and everyone else who critiqued my original drawing. ^_^

Yoruichi in a... Bikini?

Agh...My tongue. Is it possible to sprain/pull a muscle in your tongue? (Or is the tongue itself one whole muscle?) I think I "pulled" my tongue. It feels like my tongue is hurting, but it also feels like a sore throat. But I'm positive that I don't have a sore throat. My tongue feels weird when I talk or eat. Especially when I eat...and I like eating... T_T

Oh, right. The subject's about Yoruichi, isn't it? (Fine, don't be concerned about my "sprained/pulled" tongue.) For those of you who don't know, Yoruichi is an anime character from the series Bleach. I felt like drawing something, while I was browsing through my journal, and I recalled that list of weird Bleach scenerios that Joy posted. Yoruichi seemed like the easiest option, so I started drawing her. If you noticed, the word "bikini" is followed by a question mark, because I'm not quite sure what a bikini is supposed to look like... -_-;; Girls just have way too many terms for their clothing. XD

The drawing that I'm posting was completed in 35 minutes and 48 seconds-ish. It was drawn completely freehand, while using manga pictures of Yoruichi only as reference. Also, it hasn't been altered in any form, besides darkening the lines with photoshop after scanning it in. She's supposed to be leaning on something, but I didn't bother drawing it in. ^_^;; Anywho, I planned on coloring it, but I'd like some comments and critiques before I do though. I'm mainly concerned about proportion, because, honestly, I just don't possess any female anatomy to use as a guide. So...yeah. Keep an eye on that, please. <s>Not too long though, for the guys...and Joy.</s> XDDD

[[--Small Update--]]

Hey, I just wanted to apologize to everyone who came over today, regarding my actions this evening. It was completely disrespectful of me to be pissed and angry (regardless of whether or not I was feeling...hungy). I feel really bad about it, since I become totally different when I become annoyed/angered. It's not often that I'm like that,
and I'm pretty sure I caused some discomfort to everyone. I regret that you had to see that side of me, especially while I was hosting a party, so please accept my apology. Sorry!

Inuyasha!

It's kind of weird how something like photoshop can be addicting. Normally, I'd get stuck to some game like CS or D2 (still addicted to both of them, actually XD), but a graphics editing program? I guess it must be all the pretty colors. *_* ~oooooh...pretty!

Anywho, I think I've gathered just enough courage to display a recent practice file, which happens to be Inuyasha. ^__^;; The original file was yoinked off of a black and white image file from Google, and I colored the picture in.

This first image was colored in about 7 months ago...sometime during winter break. The lines are somewhat weaker too, because I was testing out the Pen tool. So, technically, the first image was completely "drawn" by me. XD (Alright, fine, more like "traced by me". ~_~ I did the coloring though!)

This second image was finished just now. The line art is from the original image, so only the coloring is my work. I did clean out some of the original line art image, but it's not as clean as it can be (as you can see on Inuyasha's cloak thingy...Haori? Is that what it's called? -_o? ).

Basically, I'd just like some comments and critiques from everyone. I'm still too shy to post these images on more public art sites (not to mention, I'm not sure if it would be legal...since I really didn't draw the image myself. -_-;;). Most of you watch (or have seen) anime, so I'm interested in seeing everyone's feedback. Please be sincere...I'll try not to cry, but at the same time, do take into consideration that this is only third time that I have ever colored in an image. ^_^ ~ arigato!

Wah. It feels like I have so much to do. But when I actually sit down to do something, I find myself asking, "Okay...what is there to do?" -_-;; Does anyone else ever get that feeling, or am I just a lazy bum? XD

July 4th and Ribfest is coming! Yay~ Anyone feel like doing anything? ^_^

Oh, wait. My subject says tennis. Feh. Suddenly playing for two and a half hours after a period of atrophy really kills the body. x_x I'm so dazed from sleeping all afternoon. My apologies to Michelle, when you called me. I was really groggy, so sorry I didn't say much. ^_^;;

...why does my head hurt? x_x;;~gah...

Following the Herd

I've noticed that ginormous survey that everyone's been filling out, and I'm bored at the moment. So I won't fill it out! Just kidding. ^__^

Have you ever...

( ) smoked a cigarette (If you're ever going to take up smoking, go submerge your head in an unflushed public toilet first. Don't try to seriously steal my stuff.)
(x) been misunderstood (Plenty. Often cleared swiftly though, thanks to my tactful problem-solving techniques. XDDD)
(x) pet a reindeer/goat (Petting zoo. If that doesn't count...I suppose Karen would hafta do then...'cause she's like a little kid!! *giggles and runs*)
(x) won a contest
( ) ran a red light
( ) been suspended from school (Please.
I figured I'd make a new post, while some idiot (who just had to plan something on Father's Day) goes to watch a movie...along with those who can go as well. In all honesty though, I'm kind of glad I can't go. I like my cave. XD

On the other hand...Sushi!!! I'm going to be going with my father and his father to eat sushi. American food just fattens you up way too much. And to the elderly, fat = stroke. Sushi's just plain goooood. ^__^

I really don't have much to talk about now. I'm just scared of reading more comments about ownership of my body. x_x So I made a new entry, and now I won't have to look at all the...twisted...peoples'...thoughts. ^_^;;

Who needs roller coasters...?

I have finally discovered the greatest way to get an extreme adrenaline rush, without the need to travel all the way to a Six Flags amusement park. It just so happens to be Drivers Ed Class! The only bad thing is, after you see your life flash before your eyes more than three or four times, you kind of realize that your life is somewhat dull. XD So, today, I got to drive on the road, along with Karen and some other kid. I drove fine (I managed to piss off some lady ^_^ ~yay!), Karen drove fine (I only have mild whiplash ^_^), and the kid drove fine...for his first time driving...ever. Nothing more amusing than hearing the instructor's panicked voice saying, "Stop...please STOP...PLEASE...STOP!!!"

Drivers Ed is mostly boring, but occasionally amusing, I guess. Today, a girl came up to Karen and me and said, "Are you two siblings? At first, I thought you were going out with each other, but now, it kind of looks more like you're brother and sister." (Watch out Karen...Michelle'll want to interrogate you now...) While Karen was staring at her in shock (and glancing at me in horror), I answered, "Well, I am her brother, but I was adopted. (The girl starts looking embarrassed that she'd brought it up.) In fact, she picked me up from the adoption center today. I'm one of those rent-a-child kids. The families come and take care of me for just a day, before they shove me back into my little cage at the adoption center." Well, let's just say that earned me a disgusted glare from the girl, and a vicious smack on the head from Karen. XDDD

Oh! And one last thing. I learned a Japanese phrase from Karen today! Behold - Ah. Neko Funjatta... => Ah. I stepped on the cat... ^__^

Weird Quote:
Me: "I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick. I'll be right back."
Karen: "Oh. Good Luck."
Me: " . . . "

Freedom For the Moment

Yay~ Summer! How's summer going for everyone? ^__^ It's a bit annoying posting everything with such formality, so this post'll be unmodly.

Now that everyone has more time, I'm sure you're all just so eager to get some HP RP-ing done. XD Isn't the book coming out soon? Anywho, I have a radical suggestion to make, and please let me finish before you tear out my throat. I propose that we set a weekly competition using the Neopets game system. *dodges sharp projectiles* WAIT!!! I TOLD YOU TO LET ME FINISH!!! O__o

I'm NOT saying go get a neopet and play with it. There are games on the Neopets website, and they have a system of recording scores. I'm pretty sure you can make an account and play their games, and you won't even need to make a pet. Even if you have to, you really don't need to take care of it...they don't die. (But the neopets staff does not like this attitude ^_^;; ) I'll assume most of you have played Neopets before, so I won't discuss more about the pets, cause that's not my point.

Basically, we could use the games on neopets as a perfect form of FAIR competition, and a great way to give out house points (besides just questions). Don't be biased against my suggestion, just cause I'm talking about neopets! Think about it. By picking different a game every week, different people with different skills will have the chance to win points. Since we'll be using the neopets system, no one will be able to submit their scores more than 3 times per day. And, you can't lie about your scores, because you can do user lookups to see what scores other people got. With this system, everything is balanced. You can't have fanatics playing the game over and over until their score is impossible to beat. You can't cheat, since Neopets records your scores. Currently, Slytherin has the most active participants, so questions and riddles are leaned towards their favor. Using Neopet's system, there won't be a house advantage, since some people are better at some games than others.

With the summer heat plaguing us, I'm sure there'll be times when you're sick of studying. You could take a break and play some games! And please, even little kids can play these games really well. Don't tell me you're gonna back down. And if you're thinking that these games will be too easy for you...prove it! XDDD

Hogwarts Update!

Greetings to all students of Hogwarts!

Due to a slight misuse of house points distribution through riddles, slight corrections have been made to the amount of points earned by each house in the past few days. The formula that was applied to calculate the house scores can be found below. Thanks to Slytherin Wang's idea, all questions and riddles from now on shall be handled according to his brilliant suggestion. In any case, the current house point standings are as follows:

House Points

Slytherin - 595 Points

Hufflepuff - 355 Points

Gryffindor - 290 Points

Ravenclaw - 220 Points

On another note, there has been a spreading rumor that individuals may earn house points by establishing physical contact with the posterior end of Head Leaders, especially our Ravenclaw Head Boy. While the Headmaster does encourage social bonding between students, he would like to remind the student body that house points will not be awarded for such behaviors. Please just keep in mind that physical contact between students should be maintained within reasonable boundaries.

~Thank You and Have a Magical Evening!~

[[Formula]]
These Rules apply mainly to the Slytherin House.

After reviewing all past questions that have been answered correctly, the final result was that Slytherin earned 990 points and Hufflepuff earned 80 points. A three-fifths penalty was factored into the points earned by Slytherin (because of the monstrous amount of points they earned, compared to the other houses), leaving a remainder of two-fifths the original amount of points earned. (At this point, Slytherin is at 396 points.) Next, house advantages in answering the questions were considered. Since some houses have more active participants than others, the points earned for the house were divided by the number of active participants (2 - Lee and Wang). The result of 198 was rounded up to 200 points. Adding this to Slytherin's original 320 points yields 520. An additional 10 Points was awarded to Slytherin for Wang's contribution in organizing house point distribution, and the remaining 65 points were earned by Slytherin Chang, in response to Wang's questions.

In summary:
320 + [(990 x 2/5)/2](<-Rounded up) + 10 + 65 = 595 Points for Slytherin
230 + 80 + 45 = 355 Points for Hufflepuff

While most Slytherin students may find this penalty rather unfair, please be considerate of the other houses, and keep in mind that Slytherin is currently leading by over 200 points, even with these adjustments factored in. The penalties stated above are only to be applied in this current situation, and is not to be applied to future house point earnings by Slytherin. Hopefully, this problem will not arise again, and we will not have to take any more corrective measures against house points in the future.

[[Note]]
Please post any new points earned from correctly anwering questions in past entries on this entry, so that credit may be given!
