Round 3, Challenge 9 FINAL!

Our very last challenge of this round! Big congrats to our three finalists who made it this far.

For this challenge, you must create a header for the comm that says 'Phantom_Lims' or 'Phantom Lims' on it somewhere. The height is up to you, but the width must be 700pxls. You may use any caps you like, but no actor pics. You must also create a matching icon that says 'Phantom_Lims' or 'Phantom Lims' too.

Rules:
- Header must be 700pxls long.
- Icon must be 100x100, lj standards etc. etc. (you all know it...)
- Both header and icon must say 'Phantom_Lims' or 'Phantom Lims' somewhere on them.
- No actor pics please, caps only (or photoshoots etc.)
- 'Round Four' would be nice to have on it, but that's optional.
- Header/Icon combos will be due in two weeks, on the 14th of December.

. The texture around the icon does not add to the icon and there seems to be no color
. The cropping and colouring make it hard to distinguish the picture and the background texture isn't really relevant to the picture.
. the picure is very dark, and it looks blurred/out of focus; the border doesn't do much either.

. the colors are too dark and the green texture does not fit the icon.
. I don't like the green at the bottom and the colors seem to wash the characters out.

.the icon looks oversharpened, but the crop is good and the tiny text fits the icon.
.Nice, clear colours, clear picture. I like the box text and the small swirl of colours on the left of it.

.the picture is incredibly dark, and the border doesn't look like it fits. It's very plainly white, and contrasted with the dark images, it's too much opposition in the icon.
.the white contrasts too much with the picture and the overall effect isn't particularly pretty

.It seems too plain; plus, the picture quality is unfocused. I do like the cropping, though.

.I love original cropping, but I'm not a fan of this one. It just seems like a random selection of a photo, as if on accident and doesn't really show what the picture's about.

.Although it is nicely cropped, I do feel that something could have been done to make the colouring pop a bit more. Feels a bit flat to me.

.The picture is far, far too light. Mme and Mlle Giry end up looking somewhat like aliens: white skin, large black eyes. And the brush is exremely hard to see, except on the black of Mme Giry's sleeve.

So I screwed up :) I should have posted these a week ago but I thought it was already done. Now that Challenge 7 voting is already posted, it's not really fair to eliminate someone after they've already entered. So no one will be eliminated. Considering there were only three participants, that's probably for the best.

So, Voters Choice goes to (the first icon of):

. too much red hue. Christine looks like she has red eye that sometime shows up when you take a picture with a camera. It distracts from the icon.
. the icon is a bit oversharpened, but it is very emotional and has a nice colouring.
. The colors don't look great and the crop is not interesting.
. I love the picture and the coloring!

. I like the textures (the black on the side and the lights), but the icon is too fuzzy. It makes me feel like my eyes are out of focus.
. Nice use of texture and the same texture also helps to soften what could have been somewhat harsh colours.
