Age: Fourteen in appearance; 398 days in actuality
Gender: Identifies as female; appears male
Species: Replica
Canon Used: Kingdom Hearts I + Days
Appearance:
Xion is a replica composed of Sora's (and Ven's) memories, a prototype, really. Thus her name being No. i. With i being for the imaginary number. In the beginnings of her existence, everyone who saw her could only see a hooded figure. It's said that she didn't even have a face at that point. But when Naminé went to work rechaining Sora's memories in Castle Oblivion, the first ones that she manipulated were his memories of Kairi. When they were messed with, they found their way into Xion. Thus is why she takes on an appearance that reflects the red head's features from her short, cropped haircut (thought blank instead of red) to the similar blue of her eyes (although if you look, they're honestly more of Sora's blue; this can especially be seen when she's side by side with Roxas). It's not quite clarified how people begin to see her as this. With Axel, it was just a matter of agreeing to be friends with her. Most would start off by seeing a hooded girl, but as her time progresses around people, they began to see her base form.
Due to her canon point, however, people will very clearly see her as Sora (with the exception of those who know Ven better than Sora. They may see her as him instead by mun discretion. This is because of the high concentration of memories she has from him (and, therefore, presumably from Ven's heart, too, though dormant). On one hand, this works towards her advantage. She won't be affecting Sora so readily because her body will presume that she already has those memories... so it's not like she will be absorbing replications of those memories. On the other hand, any new instances for Sora will be up for grabs per say. This is something that will be better worked out when a Sora exists in the game (AKA to any potential future Sora appears? Feel free to poke hassle me and I'll do likewise? 8D)
Xion generally wears her standard Organization coat. It's not so much for attachment as it is for the purpose of hiding her face though while she goes around trying to dismantle the matters of the Organization in Sora's stead. It's more or less a heavy, black leather coat complete with a fancy decorative sort of emblem-like silver piece, tassels, and pockets. Hello, big, helpful pockets. Underneath? A standard plain old black undershirt and with matching pants. About the only thing that's changed with her dress is that she's exchanged her heels for sneakers.
Psychology:
Pensive, reflective, yet pressing to be steadfast in what she thinks is right.
Xion first may come off as coy and socially awkward to those she just gets to know. Considering her rare interactions with those outside of the Organization though, it's hardly surprising. It's not to say she can't hold a conversation. She manages well enough with one-on-one interactions as demonstrated with Riku and later with Genie and Naminé. But holding a conversation outside of the Organization's goals often leads to a game of twenty questions and lots of awkward. Which turns into even more awkward when questions are thrown back at her. Xion's very secretive about her origins... Frankly, because she's fearful of anyone knowing about it. There's enough self-loathing for what she is but for others to know as well- It's not information she's willing to give at the drop of a hat and her discomfort shows; she'll do her best to quickly dodge and change the subject. If there's anything she has learned while talking with Axel and Roxas, it's how to hide things- for better or worse. Although, considering her origins, it doesn't take much to realize she has an incredibly bad poker face.
Her general demeanor around new people is calm yet cautious. Curious yet withdrawn. Xion's a thinker, a reflector. Someone who steps lightly and chooses words carefully under quiet circumstances. Often uncertain and second-guessing internally while she may put on a front of vague knowing. Like Roxas, she's very curious and wants answers but she's less inclined to trust people or perhaps has a better grasp of who to trust. Quite possibly a trait from her association with the memories of Kairi rather than Sora himself. She's overall soft spoken and unsure of a lot of things, which makes her appear weak and easily manipulated.
But despite this initial attitude, Xion is surprisingly fiercely independent. This perhaps is complimented by those whose memories she shares. Both Sora and Kairi have their stubborn tendencies, after all. And a strong willingness to handle things on their own... which she's really more than capable of, even in tight situations for long periods of time as demonstrated when she went missing for three weeks because she had lost the ability to use the keyblade. Roxas no doubt influences her as well. It's not that she doesn't trust her friends. She just doesn't wish to burden them, especially with all the insecurities that she has.
Throughout most of her lifespan with The Organization, Xion was constantly putting the pieces together as to the reason why she existed in the first place. What was she, even? These were answers that The Organization itself never gave her, so she had to seek them out through her own means. This mainly stemmed from her meeting with Riku, but with Xion's personality, it was only really a matter of time otherwise. Or so it may be speculated at least. This was information she highly valued-- reasons and knowledge are important to her. So much that she'll leave her friends behind to seek them out herself.
That may lead people to believe that she doesn't trust her friends at all, but that's not the case. Xion puts a lot of faith in them. She just... puts a lot more in herself to be able to handle things. In a way, it makes her brash and perhaps unconsciously cynical-- 'No one can help me by myself', so to say. While relying on others isn't wrong, it makes her feel weak, useless. Disposable. And she hates that feeling. That doesn't mean she won't seek them out at all. She's been known to confront Axel on several occasions. It is perhaps simply due to what she was finding out about herself that she simply wasn't confronting her friends regarding the information-- especially since the further in she got, the meeker things seemed to be.
Even past this though, it's not like she never gives things good thought. As noted before, Xion's always thinking. Always. It's like she couldn't stop even if she wanted to. She's naturally very reflective. Exhaustively so, even. A lot of it stems from her origins, perhaps. Despite her travels, she's not very worldly when it comes to dealing with what might seem as common sense to them. It's like half hers was "lost" when in truth she just doesn't carry even half the memories that she was supposed to purposefully collect. So, she might know what a database is yet she couldn't describe what a library is to you.
This, of course, leads into her melancholic nature. Despite the resolve she does her best to hold onto, Xion's quick to brood over things, even if they are out of her control. She comes off as someone with a lot of empathy-- ironic for what she is. Even if she might think she is trying to do her best and make the right choices, for as resolved as her front was, it doesn't take much for guilt to overwhelm her in confrontation with her friends. The people she cherishes always come before anything else in her mind. So, when she hurts them, it eats away at her indefinitely until she's certain that she's made it up to them. But, even then, it doesn't take much for her to shoulder the blame again if she's reminded. It's just how she is.
Past all her melancholy, Xion does carry a warm side to her. When she opens up to her friends, she more than welcomes, jokes, jeering, and gentle banter. She'll laugh and tease and smile with her friends. This is something that perhaps has been muffled some due to her guilt, but it is a side of her that comes about when she's comfortable and happy. There's nothing that make her feel more at home than spending time eating ice cream up on the clock tower and watching the sunset with her friends. Because those times were when her friends were the happiest... and so was she.
Her friend's happiness- Rather, her friends in general, come before her always. And she will tend to them as best as she can in all the ways she can- even if it means giving up her own existence. Xion once called herself the real affront- finding herself 'nothing more than a puppet'. The answers she found made her lose what little self-worth she had in the first place and it will be a difficult process for her to regain any of that worth.
But that doesn't mean she won't react towards others if provoked. Like Sora, Xion does have a rash side to her, one that makes her dive into a situation without thinking first. It's a rare side of the coin lately. And Xion doesn't typically display this towards her friends, especially now because of how things turned out. But it's still a very real part of her despite how contradicting it can come off to her lacking self-worth. Her first encounter with Riku can attest to it. While not likely to showcase it at least in front of Roxas and Axel, more prone to brooding in frustration, anything that involves having her friends hurt in some way whether physically or otherwise would definitely trigger this side of her. This can also tend to be her knee-jerk reaction when people hide things from her knowingly and purposefully-- Ironic, really.
Past all this though, Xion really is a warm, complex being. She may be replica, or "puppet" as some would call it, but she certainly doesn't seem like one. She smiles, laughs, broods, acts out, and everything in between. To just refer to her as one word would generalize her just as much as anyone else.
Other Skills/Abilities:
Keyblade
A weapon that chooses its wielder. Capable of sealing worlds and freeing hearts.
Sham or not, due to Sora's power being absorbed into her own being, Xion has become capable of calling on this to aid her. And since her time during the Organization revolved around destroying heartless of many varieties, Xion fights proficiently later on as seen in her defeat of Xigbar and how Axel barely managed to bring her back to the Organization's home front before collapsing into unconsciousness.
She holds it two-handed usually and tends to make wide arced strikes. Her fighting style comes off often as one of desperate but focused offense. She might appear clumsy, but it is that very first impression that just serves to give her an edge over an opponent unknowing of her true abilities.
The keyblade itself is large enough both to serve well in packing a lot of punch as well as taking a beating instead of its wielder. The pummel is perfect for blocking attacks since it's ridiculously wide although she's more likely to use the blade itself to defend herself. Because it's naturally attune to magic as well, she can channel stronger spells of various varieties through it. The keyblade's most intense strength as far as magic goes is its own light induced properties, giving her a strong combination of wide area of effect attacks at the cost of quickly exhausting her. One ability to note is actually the same one that Roxas himself uses: (Event Horizon (3:50). During it, she strikes twice as fast with light-induced properties collected in her keyblade for an edge. In the final strike, four pillars of light explode out from the center and shoot out in all four cardinal directions. Just like his, she can only use it as a safety net sort of move and it quickly exhausts her, but it's very efficient when desperate times call for desperate measures.
Also to be noted is that the keyblade acts basically like a skeleton key. Most things with lock-holes can be either locked or unlocked with it unless there is a magic that counteracts the attempt. It is still arguable whether her own can or can't seal worlds, but considering there are no worlds to do that with in Somarium, it's a moot point.
Magic (See Days Section) -
While the other Organization members specialize in one specific element (such as Axel to fire and Vexen to ice), Xion is capable of four different offensive arts including Fire, Thunder, Aero, and Blizzard. She also can produce the healing spell, cure. All of these spells have three different levels to them that produce more powerful or skillful results. Second level spells end in -ra. Third in -aga. Due to the variety, the power of these spells would not necessarily rival a well trained sorcerer/magician. However, they do serve the excellent purpose of long range and give her a more well-rounded background. As one would guess though, the stronger the spell, the more energy it saps out of her. These spells can be produced either by bare hands or through the keyblade. The keyblade itself strengthens the spell, capable of better channeling the magic.
Dark Corridors
Portals that take root in darkness and harness a shortcut through an alternate plane to cut through the distance in seconds whether it be between one side of a city to another or one world to another. Of course, Xion must first have a visual of the place she needs to portal to before she can go there herself (or so head canon dictates), but once she has been to a place, she need only envision it and open a corridor to traverse there. While she won't be able to move between worlds in Somarium, these will become a useful aid for moving around in the city itself.
Memory Absorption
Because of what Xion was made to do, she was initially created to absorb Sora's memories from Roxas and Sora himself. This was what led to her downfall in the end where she had to choose to either erase herself or watch her friend be erased. Due to her canon point, she holds a large quantity of memories from Sora and therefore is more likely to have points where she will be overwhelmed my memory storms. In other words, they are points where a memory might be triggered from something or someone and she will be absorbed in it momentarily before just relapsing back to the situation itself. Mind, although she has the memories, that doesn't mean she will necessarily know the whole context of them. Think of her as being a bystander, watching them unfold off to the side but being too far away to hear anything.
Extra Ability Info
Also to be noted is that Xion basically mirrors Roxas' acrobatic tendencies-- and, well. Basically any of his abilities that he has she is able to do, herself. Such as air sliding, gliding for short periods, dodge rolling (self-explanatory), and aerial recovery (able to bounce back mid-air time after being hit and thrown in the air). About the only thing she hasn't mirrored is his ability to dual-wield-- and for a striking reason. Considering he was granted it when he absorbed her powers.
Other Weaknesses:
History:
Xion's Canon History
"Look at me, Roxas. Who do you see? If you see somebody else's face, a boy's face, then that means I'm almost ready. This puppet will have to play her part. Roxas, this is him. It's Sora. You're next, Roxas. I have to make you a part of me, too." -- Xion, 358/2 Days
This ensued a dramatic and rather traumatic battle between two best friends as Roxas was forced to engage in a fight that would mean the destruction of himself or her. They battled throughout several worlds, Roxas learning quickly that the reasons for the placements of the devices was so that Xion would use them to power up in some manner (possibly helping to further pool memories, and thus power, into her and having her powers amplified). With each world, Xion took on a different form, each time the prior vision of her becoming more and more unlike herself, more like the doll she really was- but with each world as opposed to going after her, he cut down the devices, ridding her of each form in that manner. Eventually, they found themselves back at Station Tower in Twilight Town where Xion became the size of the tower itself and sustained an invisible platform with the powers she had gained. Here, Roxas found not one of those devices to be seen. But instead of fighting back against her, he found himself shouting for her to stop. Xion only continued to persist until the very last moment when Roxas fell into unconsciousness from her final strike on him.
She couldn't believe what she had put him through, what she had done, and how through it all, he had kept trying to reach out to her. Her, nothing more than a puppet to their whims. She mattered to him- no, to them so much. Enough that Axel had taken her back twice over. And she found herself losing any desire to continue the ploy she had intended for him. Even if she knew he wouldn't remember, it hurt too much. There had to be something else that could be done. Things didn't have to end this way, did they?
And that was when an idea spawned in her head. They needed Sora to wake up to protect the worlds again. That much she had gathered from the memories not hers. Sora, the keybearer. But she was one, too. After all, she was a piece of him. Whether a fragment or not didn't matter to her. The point was she could wield the keyblade just as well as he could. She would cut a deal then, she resolved, if it were possible. Hopefully with a little help from Riku.
It was at the front of the Mansion that he met him with Roxas in tow. She begged and pleaded to him- there had to be a way to stall things. Had to be a way to keep her from absorbing Roxas- let her have more time. A chance to make things right for all of them or if even just for Roxas. She was so certain Riku would deny it at first- and well. He did. She had made her choice, hadn't she? And she looked just like Sora right then! Didn't she know she was out of time? But Xion was so insistent. She would speak to the man behind the things at work if she had to.
So intense was she about things- and wearing the face of one of his best friends. And it wasn't like Riku had wanted such a terrible fate for them. He knew the stories: about her and her friends and how much she cherished them. About how much Roxas and Axel had done for her and how much they mattered to her as she probably mattered to them. And with the compiled guilt of what had become of his own replica in Castle Oblivion- he caved and allowed her the audience she wanted.
Convincing DiZ ended up an easier task, actually. At least once he realized that one of her goals in mind coincided with his own ambitions. Freeing Kingdom Hearts meant fighting back against the Organization and troubling them. And with Roxas as an insurance policy were she to fall just made things run smoother. He would hold onto him- place him in a simulated town in the meanwhile that would sustain him from being fully absorbed by Xion- held as a trump card to awaken Sora were Xion to be destroyed.
It ended up with ultimately Mickey giving her the hardest time. Because he hadn't been able to stop what happened in Castle Oblivion, it was troubling to him. He wanted to fix things- not to mention pull the worlds back together. They had been falling apart again, some of them. While the Heartless were fewer, they were still around and had begun to grow in population as time progressed. There was also the idea of Xion bearing Sora's features. She simply couldn't go running around with his face like it was nothing. But all the same, he couldn't just disregard her. He had seen too many bonds broken before. But hit him the hardest was just how fair it really was to Sora who had been sleeping for a year? He already felt at a loss as it was with Ven.
In the end, Xion chose to attempt to run. She only got as far as the outside before she caught in a fight with the King. It ended with him stopping her, of course. But he could see her determination. And ultimately knew that deep down, would Sora really want things this way? Two people erased for his sake? And so she was given then- 182 days. If she couldn't find a way in that many days, she would have to give up. But that wasn't all. She couldn't leave Sora in distress of any sort; running into his friends and helping them while pretending to be him would serve as confusing gaps for him later. Not to mention if she were to speak to any of them. What would his friends think of his new feminine voice? So, Xion would have to keep a pact of silence with them. If she were to break that, it would end things right there and then, too. But lastly, she would still have to uphold Sora's duties as keybearer- ridding of the Heartless and handling the Organization. It was under those conditions that Xion would set out to score the worlds and try to set things right for them as she did her best to set things straight for her and Roxas.
It is also that that she is bid a warning about darknes. It's a foreign concept to her, one she doesn't quite understand. And that makes Mickey all the more wary of his final decision. But regardless, he makes very stern note that she will encounter it. And that it's a force not to be underestimated. While Xion doesn't fully grasp it, she takes his words if not to heart then to mind as she starts out on her journey.
During the next five weeks, Xion visits a handful of worlds under her new ambition. Among them are the following:
Beast’s Castle
She remembers that Xaldin once seemed to have plans for the place- so it’s her first stop. And admittedly, it's probably a good thing from the way the castle seems to be more ravaged than when she last stopped by. It is here that she makes practice of her first attempt to really blend into the shadows as she sneaks around the castle. It doesn't take much work to figure out what exactly is amiss. The Beast is pining over the safety of his rose and neglecting the rest in the process due to a darkness seeping in his heart. This is the first time Xion's ever encountered someone possessed by darkness. And it's unforgettable with how pitiful the Beast seems. Still, she knows she'll have to convince him somehow or else the castle won't survive. It was a huge struggle to even get into it as far as she had.
Xion ends up fighting the Beast in order to bring him to his senses. Then she vanishes off before anyone can so much as show any sort of gratitude or otherwise bid her farewell. Not even the Beast remembers her, having had his memories wiped from when he was possessed.
Land of Dragons
It's here where Xion ends up after being thrown into that corridor. For the majority of the time, she hangs around in the background and watches as things unfold between the soldiers, doing recon on the situation through eavesdropping- and following Mulan into the mountains where she intends to confront Shan Yu. It’s there where she’s on the verge of being overwhelmed that Xion steps in and fights alongside her until Shan Yu calls for reinforcements. It’s when Mulan’s friends pop in to try to save the day- only for Mulan to use the shot to cause an avalanche -that Xion makes haste to disappear. With the Heartless taken care of, Xion moves on to the next world leaving them to wonder who the strange person in the black coat was. Of course, little does she know that her efforts would be trumped...

- First Level
Fire
A single projectile fireball. Its power is generally weak, but it homes in on its target with decent speed and a generous range. Can burn a target.
Blizzard
A projectile spell similar to fire. Its range and speed are terrible, but it can hit its target multiple times. Can potentially temporarily freeze a target.
Thunder
A line of bolts that rains from the heavens towards its main target. The line comes quickly and can hit multiple targets on the way, but the spell itself follows a straight line, not homing like fire or blizzard. Can temporary paralyze the target.
Aero
Acts the same as fire only stronger and with lesser homing abilities.
Cure
A direct spell that heals all minor scrapes and bruises and partly heals medium-deep cuts of one target. Instantaneous. *Note that cure does not rid of hunger or thirst.
Second Level
Fira
This spell grants a higher amount of power than the previous fire spell, capable of hitting multiple enemies at a considerate speed. However, unlike Fire, it can only go in a straight line. Can burn a target.
Blizzara
While still slow and with a short range like the prior spell, this one gives off a small explosion instead when it hits its target, causing both it and whatever other enemies around it considerable damage. Can temporarily freeze a target.
Thundara
Bolts of lightning rain down, hitting randomly around the caster. On the upside, the spell can hit multiple targets at once to cause some decent damage. On the downside, the lack of control can cause the spell to hit allies as well as enemies. Can temporarily paralyze a target.
Aerora
A single projectile wind elemental spell that shoots out in a zig-zag pattern. Targets hit can be blown into the air.
Cura
Acts like Regen from Final Fantasy. Whoever she has cast it upon will heal gradually. Lasts five tag rounds.
Third Level
Firaga
Shoots up in the air before homing in on its target with considerable speed and moderate damage. Upon impact, it will explode on its target. Can burn a target.
Blizzaga
Unlike its previous forms, this spell can be planted like a mine. Targets that come within range of it are in it when it explodes just like one, too, for moderate damage. Once planted though, it can't be removed and allies may be hit by it instead if they aren't careful. Can potentially freeze a target temporarily.
Thundaga
A larger, more powerful bolt that hits its target not once but twice. The second time causing some area of effect.
Aeroga
A whirlwind surrounds the caster, pulling targets towards them. Those in close range suffer extra damage from the spell's effect alone on top of whatever damage they might be on the receiving end of, melee-wise.
Curaga
A small recovery area is created. Those inside it will heal quickly. Lasts up to three tag rounds unless Xion herself extends it by remaining there.
