Packing Memories

All we take
with us
is memories

I've carefully wrapped
mine
in tissue

The ones
filled with light
are the most
delicate

The dark ones
make good
packing material

Unstable Realm

I take the words
and set them aside

My prized cache

I sometimes file them
neatly

Other days
they blend and fade

Dissolving

A brief glimpse

They tantalize
with only
hints of what they
can become

I keep the case locked
guard them
hoard them

Their opaque
existence
an unstable realm

*Words and phrases become treasures hoarded.  Seedlings for
future poetry, writings.  These are so fleeting.  If I don’t
immediately write them down, they are usually lost, gone forever.

Rain Kiss

Kiss me in the rain

Thunder in my heart
Lightning in your touch

Flames
no downpour can extinguish

Desire
washes over me

Cravings
quenched

Kiss me in the rain.

Search

The search
never ending

you were at my fingertips
once

and slipped away

I found you in a smile
or so I thought

My illusions
tease me

Your image
like waves on asphalt
in summer

Your voice
whispers
in the shadows

waking me

Breezes
carries a scent
of you

I pursue

Your touch
I miss
most

Falling Star

Burning
brightly

Resplendent and
beautiful

Wings spread

Flying
among the celestial

Caught up
in a world

Too fast

Quickly falling
from grace
from the heavens

In a rush
to grow
to experience

This falling Star

Flaming briefly
only to die out

Extinguished
all too soon

The Moment

For a second
maybe two

our eyes meet

Yours
held mine
prisoner

Me
gladly
surrendering

Joyfully
longingly
falling

Into those clear
cool
pools

The moment
now gone

You turn away

Would you smile
a welcome?

Do you know
this heart?

reaching

We will never know

Eternally Bound

The blood moon tells his secrets
whispering to the sea

The sea rushes
faint from passion
surging against the shores
reaching
for her love

The moon blushes darker
swollen with desire

These lovers
distant lovers

Never to caress the other

Eternally bound

Living in the Light

Hope
brushed away the cobwebs

The demons
emerging
once more pushed back

The spiral
stopped

Feet on the ground
moving forward
tentative steps

Light caresses my cheek

The sun
a blessing

Out of the shadows
encasing this heart

To live
in the light once more

Cleansing

Clouds
dark
foreboding

Fat
and heavy with rain

Thunder
rumbles a threat

Deep inside
my chest

Electricity
in my marrow

A scream
of lightening
sets the sky
ablaze

Eyes turn
to the heavens

The sky
weeps tears

Engorged sky
spills over
salty and hot

Pray for
cleansing

Deliverance

A torrent
washes over me

Interpretations

We don't talk
about it

The keyboard
lets me bleed
it onto the page

No constraints

No gavel of fate

Rationality
of my own design

Interpretations abound
