Peg Solitaire (or Marble Solitaire) is a single player pegs game, known since the 17th century. It has since spread worldwide and has many variants and titles. In the United Kingdom, it is called simply Solitaire (the card game Solitaire is called Patience here), in India it is called Brainvita, or sometimes you can hear about it as Solo Noble or Marble Solitaire.
The purpose of this game is to eliminate pegs from the board by moving them similarly as in the game Checkers. The original goal of Peg Solitaire game in the European variant where the entire board is filled by pegs except for the central hole, is to empty the entire board except for one peg that has to land up in the central hole. However, it can be challenging enough to attenpt to empty the board with one peg left anywhere else on the board.
