The Great Reset
October was all about decluttering my life and letting go of things that no longer serve me. I got rid of a chunk of my wardrobe. I cut down on ordering out and eating junk food. I broke one of my worst habits ever: hitting the snooze button (my greatest accomplishment). I moved on from a toxic job.
As the month draws to a close, I’m eager to report that I feel great. I’m more myself than I have been in a while. My mind is calmer. My heart is lighter. I’m ready to take on the new month and whatever challenges it may bring.
To guide me through November and beyond, I created a vision board centered around health, abundance, community, creativity, and happiness. “I'm letting my inner light shine brightly.” That is the mantra I've chosen to adopt this month. It was inspired by Ate Janine’s encouraging words from a few weeks ago, “You’ll find your path. And something that lights you up instead of dims your glow.”
It felt a little corny at first but making this vision board was a great exercise. It allowed me to reflect on what it is I really want out of my career, out of my life. This vision board is my north star, reminding me of the steps I need to take in order to achieve the life of my dreams. (Psst! This is your sign to whip out Canva and make yourself one, too!)
One of my main goals for the month is to get back into a regular workout routine and become a true fitness girlie. To keep myself accountable, I signed up for KX Pilates' KX40 challenge, which starts on Monday. The goal is to complete 20 classes in 40 days. A huge undertaking for someone like me who has a mild fear of the Reformer. Exciting. A little scary. Then for the days in between, I’ll be doing growingannanas’ Back to Basics series on YouTube.
Another one of my goals is to write more. Impostor syndrome has made it virtually impossible to do so without me judging or second-guessing myself. But I started this blog because I wanted to write so I am going to write, damn it! For the month of November, I’m pushing myself to publish at least 3 blog entries. Even if it’s just 100 words. Even if I’m unsure about the topic. Even if what I’ve written isn’t perfect.
Anyway, I think I’ll keep it at that for now. I might make a longer post about setting goals and intentions before the New Year. I have a bit more reflecting to do.
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading all the way through. Know that you are capable of achieving all the goals you’ve set for yourself. Your potential is endless. Bye!
