Chapter 14: All good Thing have to end… Right?

Every thing was good, we were happy, and every thing was good. Nothing was stopping us, and we were happy; really, genuinely happy. And God, if we could have stayed that way forever, I would have been the first to raise my hand and give up everything for him.

There were weeks of cute kisses and romantic gestures.

There were hugs and more thimbles and inside jokes that only Pete and I got.

There were more pool parties at William's and a few more incidents like the one in Will's bathroom.

And every thing was good.

And we were happy.

But all good things have to end.

Right?

"You're perfect, you know that right?" Pete said, rolling over to get a better view of my face as we lay in the grass.

"Not at all." I said with a smirk, because honestly? I didn't believe a word.

"Shut up." Pete said with a large sigh. "Let me tell you how much I adore you and just sit there and deal with it. 'Cause it's true and you are perfect and I love every part of you."

Pete placed a small kiss on my lips before lifting himself up off the grass and extending a hand for me. I began to reach for it when a curly-haired boy came running over.

"Pete." The boy said breathlessly.

"What's up, Joe?" Pete asked as he helped me to my feet.

"Bill and Adam are at the Village, they've been looking for you since this morning." Joe said, taking a deep breath as he rested his hands on his knees. "Something's wrong. You better come with me."

Pete looked back at me dreadfully before running after Joe, leaving me in the clearing.

Fearing the worst.

When I arrived at the Village, not to long after Pete, there was a small group of guys huddled around near the base of Pete's tree. As I approached the group Pete looked up at me with wide earth-colored eyes before turning his back to me, pushing me from the group.

"Pete?" I asked quietly.

"Just go away Patrick." Pete said callously, and I think I actually felt him punching me in the stomach with that one.

"Pete!" William said quietly before sending me an apologetic look with his big brown eyes. "I'm sorry, Patrick, but you really can't help with this."

"Fine." I said easily, shrugging my shoulders. I turned around and spotted Nicole talking with Adam.

"Don't push it right now Patrick." Nicole said as I came closer.

"What's even going on?" I asked, still confused by everything.

"You." Adam answered, kicking at the grass. "You and your brothers."

"What about us?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"You've got people looking for you." Nicole said.

All good things have to end sooner or later.

I just wish this had lasted a little longer.
