"Jesus Christ Andy!" Joe exclaimed and knelt by Pete who had gone into utter theatrics.
"My face! My fucking face!!" he exclaimed. You broke it! Im gonna fucking sue! My dads a lawyer!
"Yeah, as much as the world would stop and wed all go spiraling off into space if you lost your looks Wentz, calm down. Nothings broken, Andy muttered and Pete glared at him. Joe looked at the two of them, glaring at each other even though theyve never met.
I think Im missing something, but I dont know what it is, he sighed, and I dont wanna know. Good luck and he walked over to talk to Mark, Eric and Disashi.

Pete stood up.
"Like you said, it's not broken," he said. "Lucky for you.”
"Fuck you Wentz," Andy said coldly. "Just what are you trying to pull, two timing Patrick like this?"
Pete looked outraged and raised his hand, pointing at Andy like he was about to say something, then lowered his hand and sighed.
I know, okay? he said. This whole thing is really messy and I knew if Patrick and I got together Id be two timing for a while but-
But nothing, Wentz! Patrick deserves way better that this! Andy cut him off angrily.
You think I dont know that? Pete shot back. I knew this would be unfair and not okay, and I knew it would be a while before Patrick and I could be together properly but I-
“…you decided it wouldn’t matter as long as you were having your fun, huh? Well thats fucking sick and Im gonna make sure Patrick sees that. Andy said coldly.
Alright, shut the fuck up! Pete growled and Andy stopped talking, waiting for Pete to start talking.
What I was gonna say was, I genuinely would have given up if it were anyone other than Patrick. Hes like the best thing thats ever happened to me.
Were gonna figure out a way out of this situation and he assured me hes behind me a million percent. If it gets too stressful I respect him if he leaves but this hole Ive dug from myself is deep enough and I swear to God, Buddha, Allah or whatever is up there, if it wasn't for Patrick I wouldn’t be fighting my way out right now.

Andys expression had softened, and he ran his hand over his head, trying to think of what to say.
Youre serious about this? he asked.
Deadly serious, Pete replied and Andy tilted his head in curiosity.
Is this guy for real? Andy thought. I was always told liars blink a lot, and he blinked like once the entire time he was speaking. Then again all that paint on his face might have just stuck his eyelids open…

Alright, Andy said finally. Ill give you a chance. Get yourself out of this hole and you have my total blessing.
Pete smiled and extended his hand, which Andy took firmly and said,
Take care of him, or I will kill you.

Youre not dead? Patrick said, suddenly appearing from the door. He was flushed and out of breath.
Nah, Pete laughed. But my nose hurts like fuck.
What did you do, Andy? Patrick asked worriedly.
Sorry, Andy apologised. I got a little carried away in the whole, protective best friend thing.
Doesn’t matter. I held my own. Im surprised hes still standing. Pete grinned and put his arm around Patrick.
I so doubt that, Patrick laughed and kissed Pete on the cheek. So, does he tick all the boxes, Andy?
Well, you could have found someone a little better looking… Andy said thoughtfully, But hes pretty determined to keep you so I wont devour his soul just yet
I think thats as close as you are gonna get to a yes, Tink, Patrick smiled and Pete shrugged.
Ill keep trying, he shrugged and kissed Patrick. Andy looked at his shoes and left the couple to talk to Joe.
As he walked in, Travis walked out and was met with Pete and Patrick kissing in the doorway.
Pete? Trick?! He exclaimed and the couple tore themselves apart.
Okay, tell me exactly what I just saw, and no lame excuses because neither of you are in any plays and nobody gives someone CPR like that, Travis said with his arms folded.
Uh, he had something on his tongue? Pete tried and Travis held his head in his hands.
Come on, everyone is hearing you explain this, he said and gestured fro them to come into the studio.

You guys were what?! Mark exclaimed.
Making out, Travis answered for them, pacing around the room like a lawyer for a courtroom, judging Pete and Patrick for some kind of crime and pointed to the doorway like it was exhibit A. Right there in the doorway.
Well, Mark shrugged. D you owe me
Exactly! Travis exclaimed, then realised what Disashi had said. Wait, what?!
Yeah, we even took a bet on it, Mark laughed. So D, You owe me $20!
Damn! Disashi cursed and reached into his pocket. Couldn’t you guys have held out a week?
How did you guys figure it out? Pete asked.
It was pretty obvious, Pete, Joe shrugged.
If Joe had figured it out it must have been.
Even Ryan and Brendon guessed, and how much time do they spend outside of each others eyes?” Eric added.
Wait, so you all figured this out? Patrick asked.
Yup, Andy and all of Gym Class Heroes chorused, apart from Travis.
Mikey was right, Patrick laughed. We are blind-ass dumbfucks.
So is Travie, Mark piped up. But we knew that.
Can we go make out again? Pete asked, pointing to the doorway. Everyone gestured for them to go out and Travis just sighed.
Go ahead I need to figure out how exactly I missed this, he said.
Dont you guys have an album to finish this millennium? Joe asked.

Patrick, Andy decided to call over to his best friend. Patrick, who was talking to Joe, walked over to Andy and replied,
Yeah Andy?
Are you sure about this, you know, Pete thing? Andy asked and Patrick sighed.
Are you seriously still worried? he asked. Ive told you, its all great!
Yeah, so far, Andy added and Patrick shook his head.
Youre way to negative, he insisted.
Yeah, and youre to naïve, Pat. Are you really going to be able to deal with seeing the two of them together?"
"They're never together when I’m around,"
"But Pete will be next door and you can't even call him if you need to! How fucked is that?!"
Patrick narrowed his eyes suspiciously at Andy.
"What is with you?" he asked. "It's like you're trying to make this whole situation harder by giving me doubts!"
"Ah, so you admit it's hard?" Andy asked and Patrick roared in frustration.
"Hey, I’m just looking out for you Pat!" Andy called after Patrick as he stormed off.
"Look out for me in the other direction. If it all falls down and this is the train wreck you make it out to be, you'll see me coming. Right now I’m going to look for Pete. My boyfriend." Patrick called back and slammed the door behind him.
Andy heard him storm up the stairs and he rubbed his face with his hands, letting out a heavy sigh.

Maybe he was being too harsh?

"'Trick?" Pete asked when he heard someone come in the door. He was mid turning to face the door when Patrick slammed him against a wall and kissed him fiercely. Pete eased himself into the kiss and wrapped his arms around Patrick and moaned loudly as Patrick's hands crawled up his shirt and since when had Patrick had this side to him?
Pete's entire body was screaming want and Patrick was causing it. His back arched as he bucked his hips forward and the friction in his jeans caused by him rubbing against Patrick's crotch made Pete roar, "Patrick!" and the top of his voice as Patrick's lips trailed kisses along his jaw line and neck.
Patrick tugged at Pete's jeans with his fingers.

Pete's mind started racing.

He realised they might have sex!

Right there!

Now, Pete was definitely no virgin but this was a whole new ball game. He hadn't even kissed another guy until yesterday and he might be having sex now?! He wouldn't even know what to do!
He'd only ever seen gay porn once and he stresses that he was flicking channels and the plot was interesting.

But that aside, this was all way too fast.

"Pete? Are you okay?" Patrick asked quietly and Pete realised he'd stopped responding to Patrick about five minutes ago.
"Pete?" Patrick persisted and Pete looked Patrick straight in the eyes. He let his lips melt into Patrick's gently, then broke off and asked,
"Would you think I was a total ass if I said I--... I can't do this?"
Patrick looked crestfallen.
"You mean us?" he asked.
"No! Fuck, I don't mean us!" Pete assured him and he felt Patrick heave a huge sigh.
"What I mean is..." Pete continued. "Sex. Can we... wait?"
Patrick was silent for a little while. He hugged Pete a little bit tighter and sighed. Then he looked up at Pete, his blue eyes were sincere and smiling sympathetically when he said,
"Okay, we can wait. It'll make it all the more amazing," and he kissed Pete. Pete could feel the want in that kiss and a pang of guilt hit him instantly. He took his hands from around Patrick's neck to his belt buckle, undoing it with a flick of his wrist and unzipping Patrick's fly. Slowly he took Patrick's cock in his hand and grinned. He whispered,
"I love you,"
Patrick whimpered something that sounded vaguely the same.

"He kept trying to make me doubt you and stuff, like he wanted me to just up and leave. Weird, huh?" Patrick told Pete back at his house.
"Maybe he likes you, 'Trick," Pete said thoughtfully and Patrick laughed.
"Andy's the straightest guy I know!" he assured Pete who shrugged.
"This time three days ago I was straight," he replied and Patrick grinned,
"I brought you over to my side of the street."
"Only halfway, kid,"
"Whatever, you're here now and that's all that matters," Patrick smiled and rested his head on Pete's neck.
Pete was silent for a bit, then asked quietly,
"Do you think Andy was right about me?"
Patrick sat up and gave Pete a very concerned look.
"Never," he assured Pete. "I admit I’m prone to jealousy but I know how much you love me and, well, I've never been more willing to wait for anyone in my life, Tink! I think you should stop doubting yourself and be fucking honored! I genuinely think we can go the distance."
Pete sighed and looked at the ceiling.
"I hate that saying," he said. "Going the distance. What exactly is 'the distance' anyway? Sex, marriage, dying hand in hand? I don't trust a finish line I can't see," he said with a hint of bitterness in his voice.
"A finish line you can see isn't worth finishing," Patrick said and Pete laughed and Pete looked at him with a slight smile.
"That's why I don't run, kid," he said and 'What's This?' from The Nightmare Before Christmas began to ring from Pete's phone. He picked it up and Patrick looked over his shoulder to see it was Kirsten.
"Gotta take it, 'Trick," he said apologetically and kissed Patrick on the cheek. Patrick locked gazes with him, but couldn't get anything out of his dark hazel eyes. He saw Pete flinch slightly before he took Kirsten's call and he realised Pete had seen in his eyes how much the comment he'd made had hurt.

So Pete didn't run?
What if Patrick was ready to go?

Pete was scared out of his mind, and just as guilty. He had a sinking suspicion Andy was right and that Patrick was better off without him. He'd left Patrick's now and was strewn out over his couch while Kirsten was ordering pizza, or 'preparing a feast' as she called it, in the kitchen.

He felt so low from letting Patrick down that afternoon he was acting really bitter, he couldn't help that it was towards Patrick it just was. But then, it was kind of the truth. Pete didn't run with things. The only reason he didn't drop out of high school was fear of being kicked out of his house (his mom supported him in all of his choices but his dad was all about discipline), and he'd dropped out of university pretty quick, his longest relationship besides Kirsten had lasted about 5 months and he was certain one day he'd get bored of his label and just stop going to work. The only thing he'd ever run with was giving up smoking in fact.

He could really do with a cigarette right about now...

Patrick looked so hurt... his eyes were literally glittering with sadness and Pete was so scared he was going to cry. He didn't mean to cause that. Patrick was only ever meant to be happy.

Patrick only ever deserved the best...

Did that include Pete though?

Just then, there was a knock at the front door.
"Get that would you, Lewis?" Kirsten asked and Pete heaved himself up. Why she had taken to calling him by his middle name he had no idea, but he responded nevertheless.

He walked up to the door and took a peak through the eyeglass. A huge grin spread across his face.
"Kirst, find some bed sheets for the couch."

"Attention all, lovers and friends alike!" Pete announced as he rolled into work the following morning, winking at Patrick. "I'd like to introduce and re-introduce a close friend of mine that appeared on my doorstep all but a few hours ago. Greta, Gentlemen and Travie, Gabe Saporta!"

A very very tall man appeared in the doorway, grinning and waving at everyone who immediately went up to greet and or attack him. But he literally looked over their heads and looked at a short red-headed man sat back from the crowd.
"Who is this may I ask, Pete?" he asked.
"See, this guy is like a moth," Pete grinned at Patrick. "Looks straight at the flaming red-head in the back, called Patrick."
"I wouldn't describe myself as flaming..." Patrick said, subconsciously fiddling with his hair.
"Do I even comment?" Pete asked and Patrick hit him for being an ass.
"Well hello Patrick," Gabe smirked and sat next to him.
"No funny ideas Saporta," Pete warned. "Patrick belongs to me!"
"You finally brought him out of the closet?!" Gabe exclaimed. "You're my new best-friend!"
Patrick grinned at that.
"Yup, he couldn't resist me," he said proudly.
"Who could?" Gabe smirked, Patrick blushed and Gabe looked at him, then winked and went to talk to Travis.
He noticed Pete's arms tighten around Patrick as he walked away and laughed a little.

Pete was always possessive.
