Title: Across The Night

Pairing: Pete/Patrick, Pete/Ashlee

Rating: R

Summary: So, now as Pete leaves him to be with Ashlee, Patrick is having trouble telling himself pete does love him, when his heart is breaking

A/n: Sorry guys its a little angsty.

Pete’s whispered words are worth their worth in gold for Patrick.

He loves listening as Pete’s breathe hitches, and cries out, “Patrick, love you man.” Patrick loves watching Pete’s eyes glisten and widen as he reaches his release.

Pete wraps around Patrick, pulling him closer, their legs intertwined, his warm breathe fanning over Patrick’s face.

“Trick, oh man, you just blow me away.”

Patrick blushes before saying, “I just blew you, nothing big.”

Pete laughs large and loud, just like him, “Besides me right, cause I’m huge.”

Good thing Patrick wasn’t claustrophobic, because Pete wrapped him up tighter yet, almost becoming a second skin.

“You’re the best man. Love you Trick”

Patrick knows at night, Pete’s mouth moves for him. Not Ashlee, not Ryan, and not Bill. Just Patrick, only for Patrick.

During the day Patrick tries to not be offended by this Pete.

This Pete pretends to be only friends with Patrick; this Pete pretends to be a great boyfriend to Ashlee.

During the night Pete would say, “Ashlee means nothing to me Patrick. I love you.” But as soon as the sun would hit Pete’s face, Patrick knew Pete would be back to Ashlee, holding her hand and whispering things into her ear.

When Pete would become this Pete, that’s when Patrick would receive the worried glances from well meaning friends.

“Hey Patrick, dude. What are you up to?” Joe asked, after finding Patrick in his bunk.

Patrick looks up from his computer, giving him a look as if to say, ‘What does it look like I’m doing?’

Joe clears his throat while shuffling his feet. Patrick knows better from previous experience with Joe, that no, he will not be ignored.
So, instead of trying to pretend like he wasn’t there, Patrick snaps, “What man, what do you need?”

Joe reaches up and lightly scratches his head, his eyes failing to meet Patrick’s, “I don’t need anything man. I just, uh, I thought I would come and say hi.”

Rolling his eyes Patrick finally looks up at Joe, using his best scowl, forcing Joe to speak again, “Say hi. Yeah. Also dude, if I were you I probably would keep away from the back of the bus.”

Did he think Patrick was stupid? He was definitely not going to venture out of his bunk, let alone to go to the back of the bus.

Patrick watches closely as Pete gets up from bed, away from Patrick.

“Your leaving,” He feels Pete tense beside him.

Pete turns to face him, trying to avoid Patrick’s eyes, his hands clenching by his sides, “Yeah, I should get going man. I shouldn’t spend the night, Ashlee is here.”

Patrick watches Pete’s finger trace patterns into the bed sheet, that Patrick has only just now covered himself with.

“It’s just that she is here. It would be kind of rude of me to leave her, right?” ‘Isn’t it kind of rude of you to leave me here,’ Patrick wanted to yell at Pete, as he left.

Patrick would normally try to reassure himself that, yes Pete does love him, even though he was leaving to be with someone else. Every time Pete leaves though, he takes another piece of Patrick with him.

So, now as Pete left him to be with Ashlee, Patrick is having trouble telling himself that Pete does loves him when his heart is breaking.

“Are you trying to warn me about Pete and Ashlee, Joe?”

“How did you know?”

“Are you kidding? She isn’t exactly quiet.”

It was really nice when Patrick felt Joe hug him extra close, “Why do you let him do this to you?”

Why, because I love him, “Because I love him.”

“Dude, you’re like the sweetest, most genuine person I know. Pete is taking advantage of
you man.”

“Fuck you Joe. You don’t know the situation. It works for us.”

“I don’t think it works for you, Trick. It only works for Pete.”

Patrick was never one to be jealous, but when he watched Ashlee give Pete a lap dance, he wanted to hurt someone.

Patrick’s eyes followed the glide of Ashlee over Pete. Her hair spilling over her shoulders, her head tilted back, smirk on her lips.

Patrick clutches his drink tighter as he watches the two perform at the MTV after party.

When she began grinding onto Pete, Patrick felt an overwhelming desire to melt all the plastic off of her face.

“Patrick, man, how’s it going?” Brendon asked.

“Great, fine. Fucking fantastic,” Patrick looked away from Pete and focused his attention on Brendon, who was looking at him like he had grown another head.

“Sorry Brendon.”

“Are you ok,” he asked, jumping up on the balls of his feet, to catch Patrick’s eyes.

“No. No I’m really not ok. I’m going to head back to the hotel.”

“Do you want me to tell anyone?” Brendon asked, “Pete maybe?”

Glancing over at Pete and Ashlee, Patrick feels sick. “Do whatever you want Brendon.”

Patrick could just tell that Pete was in his room, when he woke up.

The room was drenched in moonlight, shadows playing on the walls, there was just enough light to make out Pete coming towards the bed.

“Patrick,” Pet called.

‘Fucking asshole,’ Patrick thought.

“Patrick,” he said again, only louder this time. “Baby, I know you’re awake, I can see your eyes,” Pete slurred.

“Why are you here Pete” Patrick was getting really sick of only seeing Pete bathed in moonlight.

“What do you mean, why am I here,” Pete mumbles, falling into bed beside Patrick.

Patrick sighs softly, happily, as he feels Pete run his hands down Patrick’s side, reaching for his ass.

“I mean, Pete, why. Are. You. Here”

Pete pushes Patrick onto his back, while rolling onto Patrick, “I’m here,” Pete says holding Patrick’s chin, “Because, Trick. Cause I love you.”

Shaking his face free, Patrick says “I don’t believe you.”

Pete’s eyes widen, he licks his already wet lips, “Don’t be stupid, Patrick. I love you,” Pete leans on his forearms over Patrick’s body, to get a closer look at him, “Why would you even say that?”

Patrick searches desperately in Pete’s eyes to see if he is lying, “Because Pete. How can you love me and fuck someone else?”

“This is about Ashlee, Trick? I thought we had worked this out.”

“Yes. This is about Ashlee, you fucker. How could you humiliate me like that in front of all our friends? Why would you let her almost fuck you in public Pete?”

Pete leans down flush onto Patrick, placing short kisses on his eyes, mouth neck and throat, “Sorry,” With each sorry Pete would say, he would place a kiss on Patrick’s face, “Sorry. I’m so sorry.”

Patrick moans aloud when he feels Pete’s lips start to suck and bite at his neck, “I’m so sick of hearing you say sorry. I’m sick of it all.”

“I love you so fucking much Patrick. Please, tell me what I need to do to fix this, to fix us.”

Patrick feels himself relenting, under Pete’s mouth. Patrick feels himself come undone by Pete’s hands.

“I love you Pete,” and then, “Ok. Ok”

The next morning Patrick watches Pete silently, as he moves around the room, collecting his clothes. He notices the way the early morning sun hits Pete’s skin as he walks out of the hotel room.
