"I knew you and Pete would hit it of." Joe said, feeling and looking somewhat proud of his friend making abilities.
"Yeah, he's pretty cool but, I mean, I'm kinda worried about him, you know?" Patrick sighed.
"Why?" Joe asked.
"His girlfriend mainly." Patrick answered. Joe nodded and threw Patrick a drink from the fridge before sitting down to continue talking.
"Those two have some serious problems," he agreed. "Ever since they moved in together it’s been a like, totally downhill. Pete's not used to being tied down so much and Kirsten, well, she's kinda clingy..."

"Kirst, go back to bed." Pete sighed, attempting to reason with his girlfriend.
"No." Kirsten protested. "I'm coming with you Pete. I want to see what it is you do at work."
"For Christ’s sake Kirsten! I won’t even get time to speak to you today! I'm busy all day with Schlep's band and-" Pete tried to explain.
"I don't care," Kirsten cut in. "I'm coming." and folded her arms.
Pete sighed and nodded his head. Kirsten grabbed her coat triumphantly.
Spoiled brat. ” Pete thought, following her out.

"I wanna help." Patrick sighed.
"So does everyone else." Joe shrugged. "But there's no saving it. Eventually the whole relationship will self-destruct. Kirsten will go too far and Pete will break her heart. Spread his wings and shatter her world.
"Very poetic," Patrick mused. “In a depressing kinda way.”
"It’s all that free time on my hands, time to think about positively everything." Joe grinned. Patrick laughed.
"Sounds about right anyway..." he shrugged. “OK let's change the subject! So what were you doing before me and my unemployed and bored self dropped in, huh?"
"Just about to call my buddy Disashi from Travis’ band." Joes shrugged and Patrick nodded.
"I think they're in the studio today with Pete." He said.
"Oh..." Joe said, sounding disappointed. Then he grinned as if a light bulb went off in his head. "So, we go say hi!"

Excuse me miss
I couldn't help but to notice how alone you are
I dig the attitude and how you're acting like you own the bar.
Got me flashing keys and I don't even own a car,
Don’t front like you ain't feeling my charm, because I know you are.
I'm trying to see how your lips feel.
Oh I'm sorry, my name is Travie and I'm pretty much a big deal
Oh, you've never heard of me
(Hmm) That sounds absurd to me
The way you stole my attention was flat out burglary
What do you say let's exit stage left so me and you can
Possibly reconvene and play some naked peek-a-boo
Cause after all the blouse you're wearing is kinda see through
And it's obvious I'm heading wherever you're leading me too
Such an angel with a devilish angle
And quite the certified sweet talker
And you're buying every line of it girl
And I don't really blame you
If I was in your shoes I'd probably do the same too

We have to take our clothes off
We have to party all night
And we have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no

"Stop." Travis said and took off his headphones. Pete signalled to the man doing the recording to switch off the music and opened the booth door.
"What happened?" Pete asked.
"It wasn't right." Travis sighed.
"What? Is it the lyrics?" Brendon asked.
"No, the sound," Travis continued. "Bren's part just had-"
"Something missing…" Pete and Brendon ended his sentence. "This is exactly what happened with Cupid’s Chokehold."
"And I still don't like that..." Travis muttered.
"Dude how are we gonna get this album done if you hate everything?" Pete sighed.
"You hate everything you've written." Travis commented.
“Yeah but that’s different,” Kirsten interjected. "He's not the one recording."
"Be cool Kirsten." Pete assured his girlfriend.
"No it's not! This sounds great! It's only him that's not hearing it!" Kirsten said indignantly.
"It's his song." Brendon commented.
"Hello? Which Pete is recording and you're singing on! Just because he thinks it sucks doesn't mean it does!"
"I didn't say it sucks!" Travis fumed.
"You might as well have!" Kirsten yelled back.
"KIRST!!" Pete yelled. "Chill! I've got this!"
Kirsten folded her arms and frowned like a spoiled child.
“Bren?” A voice called from the next room. Ryan poked his head around the corner and looked at Brendon with puppy dog eyes. “Are you done yet?”
“I will be in a sec Ry.” Brendon said calmly and winked at Ryan who smiled and went back into the other room.
“You two are so cute.” Pete smirked. Brendon turned around with a startled look on his face.
“What? Us? We’re not--” Brendon began.
“Bren, even Ifigured you two out. You don’t exactly keep it under wraps do you?” Travis interrupted and Brendon went pink.
“I’m that obvious huh?” he sighed.
“You can’t fool us Brendon!!” Travis and Pete chorused.
“Hey guys! Look what the scum wagon dropped off!” Disashi said as he entered with Joe.
“Well well, my ex-neighbour Joseph Trohman.” Pete folded his arms and cocked an eyebrow at Joe who rubbed the back of his head and grinned at Pete.
“Yeah, I, err, planned on telling you about that…” he explained.
“Suuuure…” Pete said sarcastically.
“Hey!” Disashi interrupted. “I’m not finished! Troh brought a friend!”
At that introduction, Patrick walked in and waved shyly at the room.
“Hi.” He said simply.
“Trick!!” Pete exclaimed and rushed over to put his arm around the man.
“Trick?” everyone else chorused quizzically.
“Heh… new nickname I guess.” Patrick shrugged.
"It just sounds cool." Pete laughed. "And he did Trick me into believing he couldn't si…" Pete stopped mid-sentence and a grin spread across his face.
"Bren?" he called to Brendon.
"Yeah?" Brendon replied.
"Teach Trick your part of Clothes Off."

------------

"Okay let’s see how this sounds Mr. Pan." Travis said.
"Trust me Schleprock." Pete grinned.
"Dude, after all we've been through together I think we've learned neither of us is trustworthy." Travis grinned back. "OK Pat. When you're ready."
"Ok. If I fuck up don't laugh, coz I just learned this."

we have to take our clothes off!

We have to take our clothes off!

"So, I'm still untrustworthy am I Travie?" Pete asked smugly and turned to face the space he thought Travis was standing in. But Travis had already pounced on Patrick.
"Jesus Trav!" Patrick exclaimed. "I'm not that kind of girl!"
"As soon as I start to like guys Patrick, you are so mine!!" Travis grinned.
"Uh, sorry Bren." Pete said, trying to avoid watching one of his straight best friends groping another guy. "But I guess Ryan gets you all to himself now huh?"
"You bet!" Ryan giggled and yanked Brendon out of the door.
"Uh, later Pete!" Brendon called. "I'm needed."
"I can see that." Pete sighed. "Jesus, everyone's getting their grope on apart from me! Where's Kirst?"
Pete turned around to see Kirsten glaring at him coldly.
"Come near me and die. We're gonna have a talk as soon as we get home." she growled. Pete sighed and turned back to the sympathetic faces of Patrick and Travis.

-------------

"Where the fuck do you get off talking to me like that?!" Kirsten growled. "If it wasn't for me, there would be no "Decaydance Records"!!!"
"I know I know..." Pete sighed, not wanting to mess with something as touchy as this. Kirsten could be extremely vindictive and since her dad had paid for Pete's label to get up and running, she could easily take that all away from him. It was one of the reasons he stayed in the relationship with her as long as he did.
"So why the hell did you just snub me like that?" Kirsten demanded.
"I could handle it. You didn't need to interfere." Pete explained coolly.
"I was helping!" Kirsten exclaimed
"You were making it your business when it didn't need to be." Pete shrugged. Kirsten glared at him, furious that he would be so flippant with the conversation.
"That's gratitude for you huh?" she muttered coldly.
"For God's sakes!” Pete barked at her. “I said you shouldn't have come!"
"That's another thing!!” Kirsten exclaimed, suddenly remembering the other reason she was so mad at her God-damned boyfriend.” Busy my ass!"
Pete let out a huge sigh and threw himself onto the sofa.
"You were too busy to see to me, but not too busy to play around with your buddies huh?" Kirsten growled.
"My job is to hang out with my friends and make music, and that's what I was doing!" Pete retaliated.
"You have more time for a guy who you've known two days than for your two year girlfriend!" Kirsten growled. Kirsten saw Pete’s tanned face turn pink with rage. His hazel eyes were on fire as he fumed,
"Patrick and I were working! Just like Travis, Brendon, Disashi and everyone else was working! Why do you hate everyone I know?!"
Just then there was a knock at the door. Pete closed his eyes and took a deep breath before walking over, and opened the door to be met with Patrick holding a mobile phone.
"Joe wants to talk to you.” He said “He tried calling you but you didn't pick up."
Pete took the phone and looked at the screen. There was no call from Joe. He looked at Patrick, who gave him a small smile then notably raised his voice when he said,
"Take it at mine. Coz he said it's like, guys stuff." Pete nodded and closed the door before Kirsten could protest.

"You're a genius Trick." Pete grinned.
"Just thought you could do with a break is all." Patrick shrugged.
"We're buddies right?" Pete asked. Patrick raised an eyebrow at the tanned man gazing down (they were both short-ass guys but still Patrick was shorter…) at him with curios eyes.
"Yeah. Hell yeah! Of course we are!" Patrick grinned at Pete.
"Cool." Pete nodded. "We'd better be, since we’re gonna start seeing a lot more of each other."
"Come again?" Patrick quizzed.
"Joe and I were talking about you, Mr. Music Theory man. You have a very impressive résumé." Pete grinned. "You sir, are officially Gym Class Heroes' Producer."
"You're kidding right?!" Patrick yelled excitedly and bounced up and down on the sofa, unable to think of what to do.
"Dude! Calm down!!" Pete laughed.
"You are the best guy ever!!" Patrick exclaimed and threw his arms around Pete. He felt his heartbeat quicken slightly but put it down to the excitement.
"You're nuts," Pete laughed. He flicked on the television and rested his head on Patrick's shoulder. "But I love you man."
Patrick's heartbeat got even quicker until it was attempting to push its way out of his chest. He tried hard to ignore it and focused on watching the television.
He didn’t even know what he was watching.
