So here's Chapter 7...

It was an ordinary Tuesday in LA when Patrick had his first date with Pete. Pete had insisted it be a Tuesday because Friday and Saturday were just so clichéd. They’d already had their fill of cliché with the 4 year long will-they-won’t-they melodrama apparently so Pete wanted to at least be original with the day of their first date.

They’d also had a fight over who was the man and who would be getting picked up. A decision made by a best-of-three thumb wrestling contest. When Patrick lost he claimed Pete had an unfair advantage what with being surgically attached to his Sidekick.

Patrick had half expected to have Pete pull out all the stops for their first date. After all, he tended to have a flair for the dramatic. Instead, after hopping out of the shower and in the middle of deciding what to wear, Patrick was interrupted by Pete arriving on his doorstep. A half an hour early, with a bag of DVD’s, chocolate and a tub of – wait was that MOVIE THEATRE popcorn?

“I know you prefer this to the do-it-yourself stuff. So I bribed an usher to let me use the concession stand even though I wasn’t going to the movies.”

That was Pete’s hello it seemed, until he kissed Patrick on the cheek and told him to finish getting dressed in whatever the fuck he wanted because they were staying in.

As far as Patrick was concerned, it was the perfect start to the perfect first date.

When they sat on the couch to watch the movies, they didn’t curl up like a couple would, but rather lay beside each other like they had done a million times on the tour bus. If Pete hadn’t of kissed him hello and gone to the trouble of getting movie popcorn, Patrick wouldn’t have thought it was a date at all and he loved Pete for it. He had been afraid things would be weird but this? This he could do.

Except somewhere between pausing the movie to grab some drinks from the kitchen and restarting the movie, Pete’s hand and managed to wrap itself around Patrick’s. They glanced at each other before smiling shyly and looking back to the screen. After the studio, they had agreed to take things slowly – there was too much at stake to rush this.

Somewhere between the first and second movie, they ended lying on the couch with hands resting on waists just under t-shirts and lips brushing together softly, never speeding up or deepening the kiss. It was beginning to frustrate Patrick. He had wanted Pete too damn long to be “proper” about it now.

He rolled his eyes when he realised it seemed to always be him making the first move, but he did it anyway, and kissed Pete with more force. Pete didn’t seem to have a problem with it though and immediately opened his mouth to Patrick’s tongue before adjusting himself so he was laying right on top of Patrick, hands still firmly just under the hem of his shirt.

When Pete began sucking on Patrick’s neck, Patrick took in a shaky breath and mumbled something that sounded like

“So tell me Pete, do you do this on all your first dates?”

He could feel Pete grin against his neck.

“Only when I’m horny.”

Whatever Patrick was going to say in return was cut off when Pete bit down hard on his neck. Surely that one would leave a mark. Patrick gasped and immediately ground his hips against Pete, needing some friction.

Pete tried to laugh as he teased Patrick

“So much for going slow, eh Stump?”

But it came out more like a strangled cry of pleasure when he felt the effects of his bite travelling to Patrick’s hips.

“Slow is overrated.”

Patrick yanked Pete’s mouth back to his own while sliding his hands down Pete’s chest.

“You think I’m easy or something?”

Pete tried, and failed to sound offended as when Patrick’s hand cupped him through his jeans, Pete thrust right against it. Patrick wasn’t the only one enjoying this it seemed.

“I know you’re easy Wentz.”

Patrick slipped his hand down Pete’s pants and wrapped his fingers around him. It was already becoming too much and he began to pump Pete while grinding his own hips in tandem with his hands, needing some kind of release.

“God I love your dick.” He muttered making Pete moan into another long kiss.

Patrick was losing it quickly and he wasn’t even being touched properly. The sight of Pete above him seemed to be doing the trick though. Just hearing Pete moaning like he was and feeling him thrust into his hand was too much

“Fuck Pete I’m…I’m…”

Pete was biting Patrick’s lips and shoving his tongue into his mouth trying to control his own screams. One more thrust against Patrick’s hand and Pete was coming and screaming out to God and Patrick and Jesus and saying fuck a lot even for Pete. Patrick had never heard anything hotter in his life. Pete's legs wrapped around Patrick’s waist and grinding against him was just the friction Patrick needed and he followed Pete into oblivion, saying much the same as Pete only exchanging their names.

They lay there completely spent and panting, trying to get their hearts back at a normal speed and then Pete was laughing uncontrollably. Patrick looked at him a bit incredulous.

“I’m sorry, was there something funny about that?”

Apparently the question was a funny one because it only made Pete laugh harder and the nervous paranoid look on Patrick’s face was not helping the giggle fit as far as Patrick could see.

After a while, when Pete is showing no signs of stopping laughing, Patrick began to look hurt. That stopped Pete instantly.

“Dude no. That was not funny. That was possibly the hottest thing ever in like the history of like hot stuff, but it was not funny.”

“Then what was?”

“It’s just…you think we’ll ever make it to the bedroom?”

Pete was laughing again and Patrick couldn’t help but join in.

It was an ordinary Tuesday when Patrick had the best first date of his life.

***

It was an ordinary after-show party when Patrick and Pete had their first fight as a couple. They’d just finished the American leg of the FUCT tour. It was weird for Patrick as they bickered and fought all the time. But never like this. No, this was serious. This was a real fight.

This wasn’t that fight they’d had last week when Pete had borrowed one of Patrick’s hats and subsequently lost it. It wasn’t even one of their heated debates over who was cooler, Spiderman or Batman? (Spiderman of course).

No, this time Pete had messed up. Big Time. They had been playing the show, and while Patrick was no stranger to PDA from Pete on stage, it had always been to give the girls something to scream over. Tonight however, he had gone too far. He’d kissed him properly. Not on the neck, or the check, it wasn’t even a rubbing up behind him. It was an outright kiss. The kind he usually reserved for when they were alone.

Patrick couldn’t believe it. How could Pete be so stupid? He thought Pete knew Patrick didn’t want to tell anyone yet. And okay, it had been six months since that day in the studio. They had been in their own personal heaven. Hell even Pete’s journals had gotten happier. But Patrick just wasn’t ready for the reason to come out yet. He’d thought Pete understood that.

Pete was talking to someone at the bar (only drinking a coke of course) and laughing. He was smiling and having fun and Patrick almost took pity on him. Almost. It didn’t help that as he approached, Pete’s grin only got bigger.

“Hey you,” he grinned before kissing him.

It was only Dirty with Pete and he already knew. Yeah, he and the rest of the world in a few hours Patrick thought bitterly.

“Can we talk?”

Unlike Pete, Patrick wasn’t a fan of public spectacles. He dragged Pete back to the bus and immediately found himself slammed against the door with Pete reaching for his pants. As tempting as it was, Patrick pushed Pete away.

“I didn’t pull you away to fuck asshole! Jesus do you ever think with anything but that thing?”

Pete looked hurt.

Patrick tried to ignore the guilt at being the cause of that expression on Pete’s face.

“What’s wrong Trick?”

“Why did you do it Pete?”

“Do what?”

On any other day, Pete’s obliviousness would have only endeared him further to Patrick. Not today though.

“Kiss me on stage. In front of everyone.”

Patrick sounded whiney even to himself.

“Trick, I’m sorry, you were just there and fuck you were so damn hot and I just wasn’t thinking. I didn’t mean to upset you.”

“Yeah well you did! You know I don’t want people to know.”

“Are you ashamed of me or something? Don’t want to be seen loving the guy who got his dick all over the fucking internet or something?”

“No Pete! Jesus, those pictures were for me! It’s not that I’m ashamed I just don’t want the whole world knowing about us.”

“Why though?”

“Because I don’t need to know everyone else’s opinion on it, my own bother me enough.”

Pete had actually looked apologetic and understanding, if not a little hurt until that point. Now he looked at Patrick completely shocked, as if he’d just been slapped. He ran his hand tiredly over his face; a habit that Patrick noticed usually meant he was counting to ten to cool off.

Patrick had long been unpinned from the door Pete had slammed him against, but he didn’t move. Pete on the other hand, was pacing around the bus, looking as if he was trying to decide if he wanted to speak. Then he looked at Patrick again.

“Is your opinion of me that low?”

Patrick couldn’t decide what was more prevalent, hurt or anger.

“No Pete, it’s not you. It’s not even me. It’s just do you really see this lasting forever?”

“I was considering the possibility yeah.”

That made Patrick stop in his tracks.

“Oh.”

“Wait, you don’t?”

“I-”

It was no use continuing. Patrick found himself shoved out of the way and heard the door slam, sending waves through the bus. Pete was gone.

It was an ordinary after show party when Patrick drove Pete away.
