Author: clippedwings
Rating: PG-13
Summary: I was no longer upbeat, optimistic, cheerful Patrick. I was a new Patrick, hardened by losing a loved one. I was a Patrick who was not going to stand for the word "no" and I surely wasn't going to let Beckett live. I'm in control.
Author's Notes: Wow, it's been way too long since this has been updated. And I'm in a very evil!Patrick mood right now so yay. Remember to read part 1 of In Aeternum if you haven't. Link to that would be in chapter 1.

Chapter 1 - Don't Touch Me
Chapter 2 - Nana, I Need Your Help

I thought that it was going to be easy. I thought that this would be able to distract me, and I would get my revenge like I had wanted to from the beginning. But when I went to bed that night, I couldn't get any sleep, whatsoever.

Every time I closed my eyes, I saw him behind my eyelids. I could practically feel Pete pressed up against me, his breath falling against my neck and his arms looped around my waist. I could hear him snore. But when I woke up, that feeling would be gone and it just left me feeling raw.

I knew I needed to find a way to bring him back. But until then, I needed to make sure that Beckett felt everything I felt. His connections are nowhere near as close as mine with Pete, but it's the closest that I've got. Let's see how you feel when the people you love most are ripped from your fingers.

Today was a day for studying. Andy and Joe had learned to stay away from me as I practiced summoning a range of creatures from my tarot cards. If they came near my room, they would most likely come across a frightful sight, and I don't think they wanted to be reminded of my temper. All the better, I suppose. I don't need friends. The only friends I have are my tarot cards.

Unfortunately for Joe, he wasn't about to let me go out to find Beckett that easily.

I was about to waltz out of the door, the pack of cards in my hand. Night was falling, and the Dandies would certainly be out, patrolling the streets in time. But Joe and Andy must have known what I was planning on doing, because Joe had the entrance I wished to go through blocked.

"You can't be serious," I stated, rolling my eyes. "Don't do this, Joe. You know what I have to do."

"I know what you want to do, and I know you don't have to do it. What good is it going to do, Patrick? It's not going to bring Pete back. You'll only hate yourself," Joe insisted.

Poor Joe. Poor, poor Joe for ever trying to go up against me.

"Trust me, Trohman, you do not want to be getting in my way right now. My patience is wearing thin. All I want to do is get rid of the biggest nuisances to hit the streets of Chicago. It's what we've wanted to do from the beginning, right?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"For Christ's sake, Patrick, look at you! You're not yourself right now. Just get a hold of yourself and we'll face him together, as a team, and we'll force him to bring Pete back!" Joe insisted. But I was not about to listen to him right now.

"Oh, but Joe, I disagree. I am exactly who I am and always was. This is my destiny. If I can't have Pete back, then at least I can make Beckett wish he'd never touched us." I smirked as I waved my hand and flung Joe aside. "I don't want to hurt you or Andy, but if you get in my way, I will not hesitate to do so. Remember that."

Joe looked at me with this pathetic puppy dog stare and I just scoffed and went right out the door like nothing had happened. Now for the hard part. I had to stalk the streets of Chicago to trace victims and vampires back to Beckett and his gang. And then Beckett and his pathetic little band of vampire wusses will wish they'd never been turned.

As I patrolled the streets, I noticed that things were slightly off. There were far more vampires out than I was used to. What could this be? I decided not to let myself worry about this, but spent most of the night, cornering the vampires just to get them to talk. And no matter what their story was, I ended up killing them in the end. The less vampires, the better.

Then I came across a particular vampire that was dressed very similarly to the Dandies that I had seen walking the streets with Beckett. He had the bowler hat, the fine clothing, and the gloves. He must have been a Dandy; my lucky day. I couldn't tell who he was, though, because the hat was covering his face.

"Patrick Martin Stumph, I presume?" he asked, and that stunned me. I didn't expect anyone to know who I was. "Ah yes. I didn't recognize you with how you look today."

"Do I know you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. It was quite possible. After all, Beckett had a habit of choosing people from Fueled By Ramen to join his clan of Dandies.

"I think you might." And then he lifted his head just enough for me to see his face with that fucking bowler hat perched upon his head.

Fuck. "Mike?" Well that's just dandy, then. Another Academy Is member to cross off the list of the missing persons list, I suppose. "Pity Beckett got to you. I rather liked you."

"Ah, but I think you will be wanting to postpone killing me, as I know that's what you want to do. Beckett has sent me to look for you. Says he's heard of what you are planning on doing and wishes to propose a truce." My ears perked up at that. A truce? What does Beckett have to offer that would even make me consider a truce?

"And what could you possibly tell me that would make me want to save killing you for later and not go through with my plan right now?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"I believe Beckett might be willing to bring you back your pathetic little boy toy." Mike was fucking grinning when he saw me twitch at the mention of Pete. I knew I'd kill him eventually, but if it meant postponing it for a while so I could be reunited with Pete? Well, I would take that chance.

"So, I stop killing, he brings me back Pete?" I asked to make sure that I was hearing correctly.

"Of course. I will bring you to Beckett so he can lay out the exact rules," Mike gestured with his hand to show me the direction he was in.

Intriguing. Very intriguing. I wasn't sure if I knew whether I should trust him or Beckett, but it was worth a shot. Anything to help get Pete back. "Lead the way."
