Summary: Instead of meeting Joe in Borders at 15, Patrick meets Joe at a party two years later, when they're both 17, and Pete is 22. The band is already half formed [and by that I mean, they already have Andy as their drummer], and it's sort of lust at first sight for Pete when he sees Patrick at said party. Hilarity ensues.
Author's Note the First: Soiphignia939 wrote this amazing fic called My Epistolary Romance, in which Patrick and Pete are at a party, and Patrick asks Pete if he wants to go somewhere more private, and Pete completely shuts him down. Well, I really dug the idea, plus there's a line in there about how if Patrick had just been some guy, Pete would have screwed him twice [I'm telling you, it's an amazing fic], but since it was Patrick, he couldn't [not until much later, anyway]. So I decided to turn the tables a little bit, and have Pete be the aggressor, which I can totally see him being.
Author's Note the Second: I read somewhere [I want to say the Rolling Stone interview the guys did] that Pete's parents had separated once when he was a kid but that they'd gotten back together, and that Patrick's had split up when he was young too. For the purposes of this fic, and meaning no disrespect at all, I have Patrick's parents trying to get back together. It's not a big deal, and only mentioned in one scene to further the plot, but I wanted to make it clear.
