Author's Notes : part #1

finishing early rendition of ‘reinventing the wheel to run myself over’.

“good job guys!” Pat said, too excited for the then, unknown band with no name.

“yeaahhhhh.... well, c’mon Joe, let’s head out... I want pizza, Pete, your staying with Trick right?” Andy said heading for the door,

“uh huh” Pete looks at Pat and gives a gesture, “you wanna order out?”

“sure” he said closing the door after Joe and Andy, “chinese good for you?”

“always, but, uh, do you have some cash.... I’m real broke” giving a slight grin

“haha yeah, I have a 20 around here somewhere....”

As Patrick goes to look for his wallet, Pete makes himself comfortable on the couch, “you know we still need a name, right?”

“yeah” Pat yelled from his room, “we should talk about it with the guys before the gig tomorrow --- nervous?”

“about what?!” Pete yelled back with a hint of fear in his voice, he rubbed his eyes as Pat walked out with his wallet.

Eyeing the wallet Pete groaned “ah, you know what? if it’s ok with you, I’m beat... we better get some sleep... it’ll be hell tomorrow if we don’t”

Pat shrugs “ok” as Pete smirks at his shirt.

“what was that for?”

“just...that...shirt...it always makes me smile.”

Looking down at the shirt, Patrick scans the lettering, it read:
give’em hell kid

knowing damn well Pete liked it... that's why he put it on.

“oh, well, night Petey” as Pat made his way to his room, “are you sure you don’t want to go home and try to make up with Kirstin? I think she would be cooled down by now buddy.”

“naw... if I know her well enough, she won’t forgive me for a long ass time.... that sucks.”

Pat sat down next to the depressed Pete and reassured, “but it was only a hug... you know that and I know that... i was going through a rough time and you were there with open arms... literally” with this they laughed “besides, your not gay.... so nothing would have happened”

Saying this Pat thought:
I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU!
and he never had the courage to tell him that, not knowing Pete was thinking the same thing about him.

“well, she thinks that me crashing here means that we...”

“ah! seriously?”

With a light giggle that made Patrick melt, Pete said “yeah” wanting to tell him what he really thought of him, but never did “that would be messed up” he managed to get out.

Agreeing with the dosing off Pete, he placed a pair of plaid pajama bottoms on the coffee table beside him and crept off to his room with one thought in his head:
I like pete.... is this wrong?”
