Listens: Acceptance - Over You

Believe In Loving You at First Sight

Title : Believe In Loving You at First Sight
Author : xtimxpagnottax, MissMisery13 on Fandomination
Rating : PG…ish.
Summary : Could this be out of line? To say you’re the only one breaking me down like this. You’re the only one I would take a shot on.
Author's Notes : The song is called So Contagious by Acceptance, and yes, this is a songfic. Short. Simple. Sweet. Ech. I seem to have a habit for writing those. Sorry if it's mildly confusing. I read over it, but I deleted and copied and pasted, so if something doesn't jive let me know.

[Oh, no. This couldn't be more unexpected. I can tell that I've been moving in so slow. So don't let it throw off too far, because I'll be running right behind you.]</i>

Another night like this, and Pete would definitely get sick. He wasn’t sure if he could cope. Wait, that’s wrong. He could definitely cope; it was Patrick’s reaction that he feared. It was mostly rejection, maybe, or the fact that a couple of months ago, he had flat-out denied being gay. He didn’t want to scare Patrick to death, so he was taking it slow. “Accidentally” running into him, and “accidentally” brushing up against him. According to Andy, he was just stressed, which made him clumsier than usual.

“Petey,” Patrick said, pulling the curtain back. “Petey, you really need to get some rest.”
Pete smiled a little at Patrick’s hair, which was sticking up in various directions. “I know. It’s just been hard lately.”
“Can I talk to you?” Patrick said, after a long pause.
“Sure,” Pete replied, following Patrick to the front of the bus.

[Could this be out of line? Could this be out of line? To say you’re the only one breaking me down like this. You’re the only one I would take a shot on. Keep me hanging on, so contagiously.]

“What’s up?” Patrick asked.
“The ceiling,” Pete replied. “Look, is this what you wanted to talk about?”
“…The…ceiling?”
Pete sighed. “No. ‘What’s up?’.”
“No, no,” Patrick shook his head. “Well, yes. I mean…you have writer’s block, you’re out there playing like crap, and I’m worried that you’re going to fall down a flight of stairs and break your neck. You’re, like…super-klutz all of the sudden.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Pete said, rubbing his shoulder. “I’ll be fine.”
“Pete, just tell me! I promise I won’t tell anybody.” Patrick bit his lip. “Is…is it Tony?”
“What? No!” Pete said, like it was the most absurd thing in the world.
Patrick looked up at him with sad eyes. “Promise?”
“Yes…I promise…?” Pete was officially confused.
“It’s me, isn’t it?” Pete’s heart leapt into his throat at Patrick’s words. “I’ve been so mean to you lately, and…oh, Petey, I’m so sorry!” Pete thought he was going to pass out.
“No,” he said, “you haven’t been mean at all.”
“Yes, I have,” Patrick insisted. “I’m a bad friend.”
“No, you’re not. Stop saying that,” Pete replied.
“I’m a bad friend,” Patrick said, again. Pete leaned forward and pressed his lips to Patrick’s. Whether it was just to shut Patrick up or because he had wanted it for so long, he didn’t know. All he knew was that Patrick was kissing him back.
“Umppfh, Pete?” Patrick pulled away slightly. “I love you.”
“I love you, too, Trick.” They both jumped slightly as the radio turned on.
“Eh…I think Andy has it on a timer,” Patrick said, grinning slightly. He leaned up and kissed Pete again.
“Oh, when I’m around you, I’m predictable, because I believe in loving you at first sight. I know it’s crazy, but I’m hoping to take a hold of you. Could this be out of line? Could this be out of line? To say you’re the only one breaking me down like this. You’re the only one I would take a shot on. Keep me hanging on, so contagiously. You’re everything I’m wanting, come to think of it, I’m aching. On account of my transgression, will you welcome this confession? Could this be out of line? Could this be out of line? To say you’re the only one breaking me down like this. You’re the only one I would take a shot on. Keep me hanging on, so contagiously.”
“That was Acceptance with their new one, So Contagious. It goes out to all of you kids that are in love. This is Chuck Bradley signing out. Next up it’s Peter B. and Kelly K. in the mornings on 105.1 WLRS.”
Pete leaned down next to Patrick, and whispered in his ear. “You’re the only one I would take a shot on, Trick.”
