Hello!  My name is Tanner, and I give away an open-source photo editor called PhotoDemon.  PhotoDemon is a professional-grade editor that supports layers, digital painting, and more than 200 real-time adjustments and effects.  <a href="http://photodemon.org/download/">You can download it here</a>.

As a 
portable program, PhotoDemon never needs to be installed.  You can even run it from a USB drive.  It runs on any Windows PC (XP through Win 10), in any locale, and it has no special hardware requirements. 
 
Since I first open-sourced it in 2012, PhotoDemon has been downloaded more than 200,000 times.  It is 
<a href="http://photodemon.org/download/">100% free to download and use</a>.  Its full source code is <a href="https://github.com/tannerhelland/PhotoDemon">available on GitHub</a> (under a liberal <a href="https://github.com/tannerhelland/PhotoDemon/blob/master/LICENSE.md">BSD license</a>). 
 
I am PhotoDemon's sole developer.  Over the past six years, I've made more than 5,000 improvements (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commit_(version_control)">commits</a>) to the program, including major features like a real-time brush engine, customizable UI themes, on-canvas text tools, and color-managed workflows.  I'm currently working on healing and clone brushes, an interactive effect browser, and a dedicated shape tool. 
 
PhotoDemon's ongoing development is made possible by users like 
you!  By contributing just $1 a month, you get access to PhotoDemon's Patreon blog, where I share monthly updates on the program's newest features, including tutorials for new tools and effects.  The comment section of these blog articles are a great place to discuss future improvements - so if there's a feature you want to see, this is how you let me know!
