NEW MODELS is a media channel & community addressing the emergent effects of networked technology on life. ART, TECH, MEDIA THEORY, CULTURE → New Models, Est. 2018, explores the mess of our world and how the mediation of this mess shapes us. Hosts: Lil Internet & Caroline Busta PODCAST LISTENER subscribers gain access to all NM audio content—incl. our back catalogue of 200+ episodes (2018-present).  COMMUNITY MEMBER subscribers can access all ^ audio content + New Models' private Discord server (via application). ︵ HISTORY | NEW MODELS was founded in Berlin in 2018. Our initial aim was to create a media space outside of web 2.0 platforms by hand-aggregating links and seeding a community beyond the feed. In the years since, we’ve published hundreds of audio episodes; built an international member network and Discord server; staged multiple IRL events; published swarm-generated content with outlets such as Highsnobiety, Kaleidoscope, and Novembre; crafted an album’s worth of unhinged radio plays; created an Internet perfume; produced physical collaborations with artists and collectives; and facilitated a printed book (NM Codex) and digital glossary (NM Webdex)—both collectively authored by the NM community—indexing the extremely online year of Y2K20. New Models creates content, community, and the structures that facilitate both.
