Hello my friends. My name is Jeff Sanders and welcome to Brick Bending. Here we create amazing, sometimes unbelievable, but always beautiful art out of LEGO bricks. Our goal is to surprise, delight, and create a sense of wonder, as well as demonstrate an entirely new world of possibilities hidden in this ubiquitous toy so many of us love. Over the years I have built many creations--all of which use only use normal LEGO parts, and I assemble them just like everyone else—one ‘click’ at a time. But it's the techniques I use, my methodology, and the goals that I'm after that make these artworks unique. There’s no heat, no glue (no kragle!), and no magic tricks involved—it’s just experimentation, imagination, and a lot of patience. The nature of the bricks themselves determines what can and cannot be created, and it's in my nature to push those limits. It’s this landscape of possibility that I deeply love and that I've been exploring for many, many years, and that I'd like to share with you. And although I've created designs in all shapes and sizes, there’s something especially magical when a LEGO build is scaled up to massive proportions. My art piece for the 21st Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival—a 75,000 brick, 10 square meter (~90 sq ft) beautiful monster—completely changed the trajectory of my work, both in scope and content. As a fan once told me, “I’ve never seen anything so ingenious and beautiful...” and that is exactly what we're always striving for--that little bit magic hidden in the bricks. If you're interested in just coming along for the ride with us on this journey--fantastic! We'd love to have you. One thing I can guarantee is that it will be an adventure. --Jeff
