Hi, I’m Mohammad but I go by the moniker Asatiir online and on social media platforms. I am the sole proprietor at <a href="http://asatiirstales.com/">Asatiir's Tales</a>, I make story-driven games of the horror fantasy variety and I also make <a href="https://yt3.googleusercontent.com/ytc/AMLnZu8-HStwYP-qNSbAw2APTtuIhIA0-4inf6ZHOhBLQA=s176-c-k-c0x00ffffff-no-rj-mo">YouTube</a> videos.<br>

<a href="https://asatiir.itch.io/roses-will-rise">Roses Will Rise</a> is a turn-based strategy RPG with a story reliant on the player’s decisions. The game puts you in the shoes of prisoners of war who find out that a princess rumored to have been murdered is still alive in the castle they’re imprisoned in. The alleged murder of the princess started a war through the continent and the prisoners are planning help the princess escape those who imprisoned her. Heavily inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics, The Elder Scrolls lore, the Telltale adventure games, and H.P. Lovecraft, Roses Will Rise tells a story about war politics, its traumas, friendship, family bonds, loyalty and horrors the human mind can’t comprehend.<br>

The game is built on RPG Maker MV using the MV3D plugin, release is planned mainly on computer platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS) with android and iOS after planned at a later date.<br><br>Roses Will Rise won <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BUEv_-BlafX/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading">Best Narrative in Game World Expo's 2017 Indie Dev competition</a>.<br><br><em><strong>Other Smaller Projects</strong></em><br>As a small developer with limited time and resources, the process of working on a game in the scale of Roses Will Rise will take a massive chunk of time and I will sometimes lose focus from time to time (I'm only human). As a palate cleanser and an outlet for ideas that don't fit Roses, I make small prototypes and specifically even smaller gameboy games with the help of <a href="https://www.gbstudio.dev/">GB Studio</a>.<br><div style="text-align: center;"><br><em>Curse of the Mantle</em><br></div><img src="https://i.imgur.com/maKqPJQ.gif"><br>On the Gameboy game front I'm making a small series of games based on old horror radio dramas starting off with <a href="https://www.oldtimeradiodownloads.com/thriller/the-weird-circle/the-curse-of-the-mantle-1944-04-02">The Curse of the Mantle</a>. Curse of the Mantle specifically is more of a walking simulator than an actual full game but other stories might have more involved game mechanics. Upon release of Curse of the Mantle, it will be playable on original hardware (flash cart and actual gameboy required), emulation and on browser.<br><br><div style="text-align: center;"><em>Zone Rangers</em><br></div>This is more a personal indulgence than an actual legitimate project I'm working on. When I was a child, I had a choose your own adventure book called <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1261186.Zone_Rangers?ac=1&amp;from_search=true&amp;qid=eEfYd7L7wj&amp;rank=1">Sonic the Hedgehog Adventure Gamebooks #2 Zone Rangers</a>. It was a very significant book in my formative years, and I wanted to make a tribute to it using Twine. This project is a very low priority for a long time that I've only been quiet about, I do plan to finish it when I have less important things on my plate.<br><br><h3 style="text-align: center;">My Youtube Channel</h3><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7EdUx-QAQDs" allowfullscreen="" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0"></iframe>Initially I wanted to keep my Youtube channel be a place where I post marketing material for my game projects, but for fun I started posting content adjacent to my game development which caught some and eyes and turned pretty difficult to overlook. I did post some things like my experience using linux full time on the computers I use to work on my games and announced Curse of the Mantle through a video where I talked about modding a DMG gameboy, I do plan to make more videos of various things that do affect my game development including videos about games that have inspired me. The focus of the channel is still for my game projects which I will post about whenever I have material to post about them, but I am also having fun making other videos too.<br><br>I currently don't have a release schedule for the YouTube videos, so they are currently at a &quot;release when it's there&quot; basis.<br><br>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Why Patreon</h2>If you go through my <a href="https://asatiir.itch.io">itchio</a>, you will notice that all my games are free with payment being only optional. I hope to keep it that way so all may be able to play my games and that they might reach as many people as possible. I do not like keeping things behind paywalls, but I also don't want to leave patrons empty handed.<br><br><ul><li>Purchasing any of my games will be treated as one-time payment support and will be appreciated. Depending on the purchase you may get bonuses depending on whichever you purchase (some items have been left blank but may get bonuses in the future).</li><li>Patrons even if supported for one month only will get paid keys for whichever main project I'm working on (in the current time Roses Will Rise) and will also receive a credit in the game once it's ready (I will try to include even no longer supporting patrons if they still have active accounts on patreon).</li></ul>As patrons you will receive updates in weekly and monthly forms (and annual at the end of the year), I try to give out some bonus material like hi-res PSDs and other items when available.<br>
<br><h2 style="text-align: center;">Where is the Patreon money going</h2>My long term goal is to use the patreon money as a source of income, given that game development and making videos are jobs on their own on top of my day job that I keep for job security. At the current time whatever I'm earning on Patreon right now is not sustainable for that, but I am using it to go towards my projects, paying to compensate any professionals I hire to help out with my projects, site hosting, equipment used to making the game and any events I attend to market my games.
