15" x 15" Turkey Wallhanging I designed and sewed in the 1990s with fabrics left from the 1980s.
Autumn Quilt made by Nancy Myers with leftover green, brown, and tan fabric pieces and used as a sofa throw. (Circa 2017)
Lanterns table runner - designed and sewn in 2018 using Island Batik fabrics. Pattern designed for Cut Loose. 38" x 14"
Negative/Positive leaf quilt. Approximately 45" x 45". Made in a class at an AQS Show in Grand Rapids, MI, in the early 2000s. I didn't label the quilt, so I don't remember the teacher. I do remember meeting Lily from Canada, and we've kept in touch since then!
Rays of Sunshine block sewn in October 2025 using batiks. Quilted with straight lines. 15" x 15". This design has been popping up frequently on the internet.
This is a 15" x 45" long table runner. The hexagon shapes are cut as repeats and sewn so that the repeating shapes create a new circular pattern in each hexagon.
I sewed this quilt using squares and rectangles that created larger squares. I placed them in a composition that ran diagonally from left to right. I will sew a binding to the quilt and then donate it to one of the charities that the quilt helps. The quilt measures 66" x 66".
I call this quilt "In Lucy's Eyes" as homage to my mother, who never understood why someone would want to sew a quilt. (Love you, Mother.)
I have liked Bethany Reynold's "Stack N Whack" technique because we never know what design will be revealed when the sewing is completed.
I designed the quilt and the blocks for the Block of the Month at Quilt Something, a quilt shop in Fremont, MI, where I worked. It closed quite a few years ago. Of course, every person's blocks had different patterns appear in the blocks, which makes the technique fun.
Using leftover Christmas fabrics, I made the 5 blocks that have white fabric in them. I wanted a table covering, but not a long one. So I made more blocks with some other leftover fabric. And I finally decided to add the triangle sections to make 8 corners on the quilt and have a large table topper.
I designed and sewed this Sunflower for a group challenge quite a few years ago. I think the most wonderful part of it is the stamin in the center as if one was looking down the stem of the flower with all the microscopic parts. It measures 18" x 18".
