Long story short… an improved (in some ways) version of the patch I uploaded about a month ago.
It mainly works the exact same way as the PreChorder V1 patch. You program four chords you can play, including some vibrato, reverb and low-pass filter.
Check out V1: https://patchstorage.com/prechorder/
So, what’s new?
1. I’ve added a white pushbutton on the second row of the grid, named “fade”, that activates a fader function on the main audio output, allowing you to fade patch audio in/out without having to do it manually or stop playing notes/chords/loop.
2. Yes, that’s right, it now has a looper on page 5. It has been configured in such way to allow overdubs, but to bypass the default switch from recording to overdub. Meaning it switches from recording to playing the loop, and in order to overdub you’ll have to activate the looper again. If you’re at all interested in how it works, it’s based on an entry of the Tips&Tricks document. And you can always dissect how the patch is connected.
Main controls are on page 0, with the rest.
On the fifth row of buttons (lowest) on the grid, starting on the left corner, you’ll finde the following:
a. Red momentary pushbutton (rec): This activates the 32s looper on page 5. You also use it to stop recording and switch to playback, and to switch between playback and overdub.
b. An orange latching pushbutton (rev) that activates the reverse function of the looper.
c. A yellow momentary pushbutton (reset) that does two things, erases/resets the looper, and resets the switching system that allows you to bypass the default rec-to-overdub behaviour of the looper.
d. A pink latching pushbutton (oct up) that pitches the looper one octave up, which means it goes twice as fast. You can also record while playback is pitched up and then go back to the default pitch/speed.
I’ve tried including a second independent looper, but CPU hasn’t been able to handle it… I’m also thinking in might have to do with the issues some users have been experiencing with update 5.30.
I’m thinking of making that the next “upgrade” or maybe implementing a system to switch chords without having to manually set each connection. Like having a default mayor chord, minor chord, etc.
If you find this patch fun, please let me know and if you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them.
