Listens: Let's Hear It For the Boy, Katty B.

Brain Block

I no longer have a primroseburrows; we dropped her off at the airport not too long ago. We being, of course, Gillian, Jacob, and I. Her first flight was delayed, so hopefully she'll still make her connecting flight, and if not, the counterperson made her a reservation on a later flight, so she's taken care of either way.

I have to attend a Girl Scout recruitment meeting tonight. "Have to" sounds a bit more negative than I want it to sound; I do want to go, and I do want to have more girls in the troop, but I also am pretty tired from the past week and a half, and I'd really love to sit at home and watch BTVS. Did I mention that after the GS meeting, I have to go by the Mothers & More meeting to pick some things up? Also, before I can attend the GS meeting, I have to type an 'introduction' to our troop and get that, plus registration forms and the like, together. I suppose I should have taken care of it at some point in the past but I'm not really sure when that would have been.

So, I'm thinking I need to list when the troop meets (days, times, how often a month), where we meet, what our 'goals' are for the girls in the troop, and a few basic other things, plus maybe a copy of the troop calendar for the next month or two. I contemplated treating tonight like a parents' meeting as well as a recruitment meeting, but I think that I might do better to focus on one thing at a time.

Gillian & I are 'behind' on school, in the sense that we are not at the place I thought we might be in the content areas. Then again, that's not really a big deal, so I guess we're all right. I've known all along that next week was going to be my nice, slow 'rebuilding' week. We'll go to her Thursday classes, ballet on Monday, and Jacob's swimming class on Monday and Wednesday, but that's it. I don't anticipate doing anything else all week except rest, school, and clean. I mean, we'll play some games and stuff, but I'm not planning any big trips out of the house, nor any big events hosted at my house. I may be crazy, but I'm not that crazy, yet.
