The Evilness of Web Catalogs
I wanted to check the new Eddings book out of the library (Regina's Song, and quite different from their usual fantasies, I must say), so I checked the web catalog. So far, so good. It was available. I showered, got dressed, and drove the five minutes to the library. Total time elapsed: between one hour and an hour and a half. I reached the library and went straight to the new books shelf. No book. Just a space where it had been. ARGH!!
Great way to get a character that's giving you trouble, role-playing is. Little Alex and I have been doing it most of the evening, for fics for both of us. It's been incredibly helpful.
