- 08:24]Discorz: I put it next to my 27gr83q and on full black screen the difference is barely visible. Youtube grays actually look worse on 27g1s.
- Dark level transitions are quite a bit faster in sRGB vs Standard color mode.,
- Best overdrive is "OFF", which is not really OFF (not gain 0).,
- GtG performance can be improved further by raising the Shadow Balance setting. Default is 50, at 60 there is little to no ghosting on ufotest at ~3000 px/sec.,
- MBR range is 90-240 Hz with custom refresh rates supported. KSF red ghosting is noticeable.,
- There is some smearing on darker transitions, not as significant as on other slower VA panels. Full white text on black background don't smear/disappear but turn green-ish/yellow-ish instead.
- Changing color modes reverts these settings back to factory default:
- Professional tab: gamma, user C.T., sharpness, shadow balance, low blue light, hue, saturation,
- Picture Settings tab: contrast, dcr, contextual model,
- Game Settings tab: rts/rpg mode, fps arena mod, moba arena mode, response time,
- sRGB mode is bugged:
- Switching to sRGB mode always defaults custom color temperature ("C.T settings") to Warm profile.,
- Custom "C.T settings" don't stick after powering the monitor on. Setting is selected but values are not applied.,
- To use sRGB mode properly you would need to re-enable your custom C.T. settings every time monitor is powered on or when color modes are changed. That takes at least 11 extra steps to correct in the OSD.,
- In Techless 27G1S review I noticed his batch CAN'T customize C.T. in sRGB mode, but interestingly my batch CAN. SRGB bugs might be related to Innocn later adding the feature to newer batches and forgeting to polish the firmware. His unit also defaults to Warm profile when switching to sRGB mode.,
- VRR Variable Overdrive on 27G1S is only partially good.,
- It's a 3-zone overdrive, 240-180, 180-85 and <85 hz fps. The <85 fps zone reduces the overdrive gain smoothly, but at ~180 fps display is trying to transition between 2 very different gains so there is a noticeable ghosting flicker zone at around 170-190fps. So best performance is always at 240, 165, and 60 fps.
- This kind of overdrive can work if done correctly. But the difference between the gains at 180 fps is obviously too big and it's only a 3-zone overdrive. I guess you'd need many more zones so that the gain difference becomes smaller.
- SRGB GtG is noticeably faster, but can't use MBR in sRGB mode (probably intentional limitation).
