{"id":4783386,"date":"2025-01-01T21:20:25","date_gmt":"2025-01-02T02:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.oxygenbuilder.com\/updates\/documentation\/dynamic-data\/data-points\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T20:01:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T00:01:20","slug":"data-points","status":"publish","type":"documentation","link":"https:\/\/oxygenbuilder.com\/documentation\/dynamic-data\/data-points\/","title":{"rendered":"Data Points"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There are a variety of Data Points available in Oxygen: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>String: <\/strong>String data points are the most common dynamic data point in Oxygen and can be used to display a post title, post date, user and author data, the post content, and even custom fields.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Image URL:<\/strong> The Image URL data point is used to display images in Oxygen. This includes the featured image, post custom fields, the site logo, and user and author avatars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gallery<\/strong>: Gallery Data Points can be used to display multiple images or videos within the Gallery element.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Video<\/strong>: The Video Data Point will accept URLs, oEmbeds, and files stored in custom fields on your site. You can use the Video Data Point on a Video element, a Section background video, or within a Gallery element.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>URL:<\/strong> The URL data point may be used to display post links, site links, author and user links, external links, or action links such as a mailto or tel link. Some common elements that use the URL data point include the Text Link, Wrapper Link, and Button elements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Query: <\/strong>The Query data point allows you to retrieve data from a URL parameter or UTM tag on the front end. The Query data point may be generally used in the same place as a String data point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Google Map: <\/strong>The Google Map data point allows you to display map data stored in a custom field within the Google Map element in Oxygen. Most data points will have similar options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-advanced-options-1\">Using Advanced Options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can access the Advanced Options area by clicking the caret next to the data point title in the Properties Pane, and then clicking on the Advanced toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will open the Advanced Options available for that data point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, a data point will have the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prepend:&nbsp;<\/strong>Add text before a data point. This is generally useful for text labels and for redirect links when used for URL data points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Append:&nbsp;<\/strong>Add text after a data point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Limit Characters:&nbsp;<\/strong>Define the max number of characters that will show from a data point. The rest will be hidden.
