If the customer is enrolled, checking accounts are eligible to be overdrafted. You don\u2019t need a linked savings account or credit card to be eligible for the program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxygen only permits <a href=\"https:\/\/overdraftapps.com\/how-to-overdraft-a-debit-card-on-purpose\/\">overdrafts on debit card<\/a> purchases.  You cannot use Oxygen Reserve to withdraw cash from an ATM, make bill payments, or transfer funds through services like Venmo or Cash App.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Oxygen is processing an overdraft transaction, they will look into your account history. They will look for recurring deposits, average daily balance, and whether or not the account is overdrawn often. Normally, the fintech company will only approve automatic bill payments and other transactions they are legally obligated to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t enroll in Oxygen Reserve, the bank maintains the right to decline any transaction that could overdraft the account.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How much are Oxygen\u2019s overdraft fees?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxygen does not charge overdraft fees. Instead, they allow their customers to overdraw their accounts if they\u2019re enrolled in the <a href=\"https:\/\/oxygen.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Oxygen-Reserve-Feature-Terms-and-Conditions.pdf\">Oxygen Reserve program<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not every customer is eligible for Oxygen Reserve. To be able to enroll, you must have five qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have your account with Oxygen for 31 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have an activated, physical debit card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a positive or zero balance for 31 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make at least 5 purchases with your card within the last 31 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive at least $1,000 in direct deposits within the last 31 days.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxygen does not charge returned item fees or NSF fees either. Another common feature of most online banks and fintech companies.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3>WAIT! High overdraft fees aren't the only way Oxygen is costing you money.<\/h3>\r\n<p>With inflation overheating, you've probably heard that interest rates are climbing sharply. If the account has a negative balance for 90 days, it will be closed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New customers are not eligible for overdrafts, and have to have an account with Oxygen for 31 days before they can enroll in Oxygen Reserve. Once they enroll, Oxygen Reserve kicks in immediately. You can\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/overdraftapps.com\/atms-that-let-you-overdraft\/\">withdraw cash from an ATM<\/a> though, even in Oxygen Reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can you get an Oxygen overdraft fee waived?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The great news for Oxygen customers is that it doesn\u2019t charge overdraft fees Public opinion is shifting on overdraft fees.
