We had been providing legal aid and protecting dissidents in Russia for more than 14 years. Following our designation as an extremist organisation, we can no longer work with lawyers inside Russia. However, we continue to offer legal advice and produce practical legal guides. We also continue to document repression, conduct research, and draw public attention to it. We have temporarily suspended the delivery of essential supplies, food, medicines and our letter-writing initiative through Vestochka.

In the darkest hour for Russian democracy we ensure that Russians are not left facing the system alone. We provide legal aid and free consultations for dissidents all over Russia. We analyze emerging issues to develop tactical solutions and lay the groundwork for future systemic change. We raise awareness of human rights violations through our unique expertise. We engage thousands of volunteers in critical tasks and continuously expand our community. We support political prisoners with letters, deliveries to prisons and medical assistance.
