I gotta do something about my body ...
Greetings!
Well, today is one of those infamous days at work ... birthday party day, which means that I make my amazingly wonderful 7-layer bean dip (which actually has 9 layers ... but who is counting), and everybody brings in food. Which also means I eat all day long. Ugghhh.
I've gone to where my belt is at three notches as opposed to the 5 notches it was at 10 months ago. Not good.
I've subscribed to a service called e-diets, which is very good. I just have to wait 'til I get paid again so I can buy the food for the recipes.
And I have to start exercising. Now, I have a love/hate relationship with exercise. Meaning, basically I love to hate it. I find it boring. I always feel like I'm not as good as everybody in the gym. But the honest to goodness truth is that if I do it, and stick with it, I feel good. It is a great way to deal with stress (as opposed to smoking, which really is NOT a good way to deal with stress).
The time that I felt most comfortable in a gym was in this gay male gym in West Hollywood, called the Athletic Club. It was all gay guys, and as it wasn't very busy, and it had a great pool, with sort of a backyard feel, I enjoyed going there. It closed on me.
So, I'm going to set myself some very teensy weensy goals for the next 4 days.
1) I'm going to pay a new pair of tennis shoes (I ended up giving mine to Aaron after he borrowed them), as I really can't workout in the shoes I have.
2) I'm going to arrange my workout clothes so I can actually get to them.
3) I'm going to pack my clothes, along with things like towels, soap, etc. in a bag.
4) I'm going to go to the gym once by Wednesday, and the only thing I'm going to do is 20 minutes on the treadmill, then I'm going to shower and go.
5) I'm going grocery shopping to get a week's full of food that follows e-diets menu, which I will start Wednesday, July 31.
That's it. It shouldn't be too hard.
At some point, when I've gotten more used to it, I'm also going to start taking yoga classes at the studio up the street from me.
The thing that I notice is that as I get heavier, I get more lethargic, hate my body more, hate myself, and I'm tired. Very, very tired. But if I do all these things, I'll feel better, and be able to be more productive.
The good news is that I got my little monk, Manodelsol, a full set of Wu's armor last night, which makes him a major twink. Woohoo!!! Now, just to get him a decent 1hb and 2hb weapon.
Anyway, I'm off.
Light and Laughter,
Travis
