[RC] Cannot remove sidebar button from toolbar

Since updating to Orion RC 1.0.3 (142.1-rc), I have been unable to remove the sidebar button from the toolbar. I am pretty sure I had already removed it and it appeared on the toolbar again after the update.
It annoys me not being able to remove it.

I expected to be able to remove the sidebar button from the toolbar as I have done in previous versions of Orion.

I was able to remove the sidebar button, but after opening the sidebar it reappers on its own and now is not removable. I dont normally use the sidebar at all. I am on 143.2.2-rc "the icon can not even be moved, it is locked in place.

Same. I don't use sidebar and recently want to remove that button to save some space in compact tab, and find out that it is not removable.

Repro steps:

Drag the Show Sidebar out of the Toolbar.
It remains on the Toolbar.
Also occurs on a clean profile.

On previous versions, we were able to remove it from the toolbar.

Also getting this on Sequoia. It can't be moved around either, but I don't know if that was ever possible since I've always had it removed from the toolbar

This is an intended feature since we had complaints of users accidentally getting this out and not being able to access the sidebar.

akshatpatel Could there at least be a setting somewhere to disable it? As someone that never uses the sidebar, the button is completely pointless and just gets in the way

Isn't this browser well suited for users who can figure out they want to remove and restore a sidebar button in the toolbar?

All other buttons are removable, including the address bar. Why trust the user to remove every other button in the toolbar, but not this one?

Safari also allows for the sidebar button to be removed, along with all other buttons.

Hi folks, we discussed internally and we will add back the functionality to allow removing the sidebar button.

Going to the customize toolbar options and removing the sidebar button is explicit enough an action that it is safe to assume whoever is doing it knows what they are doing.

Besides, users can restore the default toolbar button set anyways. Thanks again for your inputs.
