Envest had a clear plan to acquire and grow a network of autobody and collision repair businesses. While the investment thesis was solid, the firm also needed hands-on financial support to put it into motion.

Just as importantly, they needed a model that could be repeated for future acquisitions. Pre-Acquisition Financial Strategy and Operational Planning

Opus began the engagement a month prior to the acquisition of Authentic Autobody. In coordination with Envest’s leadership, Opus conducted light due diligence, reviewed seller-provided documentation, and outlined the critical next steps to ensure a smooth transition. This preparation allowed Envest to move quickly and confidently, minimizing disruption to the operations of the acquired business.

Seamless Post-Acquisition Integration and Infrastructure Setup

After the acquisition closed, Opus stepped in as Fractional CFO, taking ownership of the financial transition. They aligned payroll and insurance systems, helped onboard new banking relationships, and facilitated compensation and job responsibilities for employees. Opus also implemented a bookkeeping and reporting framework tailored to Envest’s needs.
This included monthly reporting to banks, covenant reporting, weekly revenue tracking updates, and budget-to-actual comparisons that offered real-time insight into financial performance.

Scalable Finance Function Through Fractional CFO Leadership

Opus continued to provide financial leadership after the transition was complete. In addition to overseeing payroll and compensation changes, they managed tax preparation, coordinated with CPAs during annual reviews, and introduced agile forecasting and cash flow monitoring tools. These systems gave Envest the flexibility and control needed to support growth while maintaining discipline.

Once the deal closed, Opus resumed it role as Fractional CFO and implemented tailored scalable systems with adjustments for each business.

This repeatable process has enabled Envest to expand its portfolio with confidence. With the acquisition of APC Autobody complete, the partnership continues to deliver strong results.
