Inspiring health & wellness in Chicago's western suburbs

OptWell empowers
communities to thrive

Welcome to OptWell, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization inspiring the health and wellness of people who live, work, and play in Chicago’s western suburbs through education, connection to resources, and social support, making healthy choices easier.

We’re working toward a future where prevention and healthy habits enable everyone to improve their quality of life.

Healthy Habits

OptWell promotes evidence-based healthy habits—helping people live longer, healthier lives.

Nourish your body with colorful, whole foods and water that fuel energy and longevity. Think brain-healthy choices like leafy greens, berries, and limited added sugar.

Try: A serving of dark leafy greens daily and swapping one sugary drink for water.

Eat Well

Prioritize daily activity—walking, stretching, strength training, or any movement that keeps your body strong.

Try: A 10-minute walk, squats, or a “wall sit” after meals to minimize glucose spikes.

Get Moving

Build cognitive fitness and emotional well-being through lifelong learning, brain-challenging activities, mindfulness, and social connection. Seek support!

Try: 10 minutes learning something new, connecting with a friend, or practicing a few slow, deep breaths today.

Mental Wellness

Support your brain and body with consistent, restorative rest—aim for at least 7 hours each night.

Try: A wind-down routine 30 minutes before bed and using OptWell’s Sleep Challenge Tracker.

Quality Sleep

Stay proactive with preventive care, early attention to concerns, and managing known conditions for long-term well-being.

Try: Scheduling one overdue screening or health check-up today.
