Accessing community services through Oakville Public Library

Oakville Public Library provides access to community services that help residents find information about local programs, supports, and government services. Community Services at OPL are designed to make it easier for people to find, understand, and access help, whether they prefer to explore on their own or receive assistance from library staff.

OPL provides access to community services in three main ways:

  • Staff supported help through Information Oakville
  • Self serve access through the Halton Community Services Directory
  • Targeted supports for newcomers to Canada

These services are available online, by phone, and in person at the library.

  • Understand what services are available
  • Identify appropriate starting points
  • Access information from trusted community and government sources

Information Oakville does not provide social services directly, but serves as a guided access point, helping connect people to organizations that offer direct support.
