Fiscal Hosting for Open Source Projects

Open Source Europe is a nonprofit based in Belgium. We provide fundraising and money management infrastructure for open source communities—without the hassle of setting up your own legal entity.

Whether you’re maintaining a critical library, building developer tools, or supporting digital public goods, we help you focus on what matters: your code and your community.

FAQ

What can my collective do?

Collect donations (one-time or recurring), receive grants and sponsorships, and reimburse contributors for their work. All transactions are transparent. Learn more →

Can we receive public or institutional funding?

Yes — we can sign cooperation agreements to enable collectives to receive grants or public subsidies. Learn more →

Are donations tax-deductible?

From the U.S.? Yes — Contact us → [email protected]
From Europe? It depends on your country. Contact us to check eligibility.

How much does it cost?

8% + Stripe/PayPal fees for online contributions
10% for bank transfers
10% for tax-deductible donations and grants

Terms

By applying to be fiscally hosted by Open Source Europe ASBL, you agree to these terms:

Your project must align with our mission: supporting the open source ecosystem.
Funds must be used exclusively for project-related activities—not for private benefit.
Projects under our umbrella cannot engage in political or religious campaigning.
You retain full ownership of your project’s intellectual property and brand.
We hold and manage your funds transparently on your behalf.
