Things are good for the most part.

Feeling like I'll never find a guy who I'm attracted to and has an actual good personality. Sick of dating losers and assholes. So frustrated.

Side note, does anyone have a copy of Photoshop and Paint Shop pro? Still don't have them back and feel like making graphics might be a good stress release come winter.

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a lovely weekend. As usual, it's been a while since I posted, but I thought I should update, as I've had a lot of changes in my life recently.

→ I started my job at Education First working in the Au Pair department. It's been a little bit of a roller coaster ride trying to adjust from working for non-profit human services agencies to a huge company. I went in still very much with the heart of a social worker, but I needed to quickly change that, because business is cut throat and they hold you to a different set of standards. I think it's going pretty well now, and I love the company. They treat their employees well, and there's a lot of opportunity for me to move in different parts of the company, eventually. I just need to stay on my game.

→ I've been getting up a 5:30am every morning and don't get home until 7:30pm. This is a huge adjustment for me. Taking the train in to work every day, and not having access to a car is very different as well. It's not awful, but is definitely a change. I'm always tired, and never want to go out on weekdays, even Fridays. I just want to eat dinner, watch an hour of TV and then go to bed. I've become quite boring. :/

→ I've been dieting and working out at the gym 3x per week. I'm paying $160 a month for a personal trainer. I see her once per week for a half hour, and it has been helping. She's great, and she really motivates me. As much as it's killing my wallet, I need this type of attention, or I will never be motivated to lose the weight. I'm dieting, but not an insane amount. I eat healthy throughout the week for the most part, and I'm watching my calories and really looking nutritional labels. I tend to fall apart on the weekends, but I'm trying to get better with that. I have lost 10lbs in about 6 weeks. The first couple of weeks I was only going to the gym 2x per week, so my goal is to lose 2.5lbs per week, over the next 10 months.

→ I'm determined to go to Australia next March. My really good friend whom I met while I studied abroad in England lives in Melbourne, and I am dying to visit him. He promised he'd show me around and do tons of touristy things with me, which is really exciting. I'm going to try to get 2 weeks off. If I can manage to get more than that, I'm going to do a tour, and maybe see some other parts of Australia. I'd love to do a small trip to New Zealand as well. I'd cut off my own arm to see Hobbiton, if it's still there! I'm using this as a goal to lose more weight, because I want to look good when I see my friend, and I want to be able to keep up with the tour, which will inevitably have a lot of walking incorporated.

→ My parents want me to go with them to Italy in early August of next year. I hope I'll be allowed to take this trip in addition to my Australian adventure. I'll need to ask my boss but I'm nervous about doing so. I don't get to use vacation time for 6 months, so it won't even be available to me until mid January.

→ I'm looking for new TV shows to watch. All the ones I loved are either finished, or have turned to utter shit, like Glee. I'm heartbroken about Cory Monteith, so I probably won't be able to continue with Glee after the first three episodes. They've basically turned it into Blee anyway. Blaine has ruined the show, and Darren Criss can't act even if his life depended on it. If you don't think he's taken over the show, just count the amount of songs that little asshole gets in the first 2 episodes. It's disgraceful and his character has turned into a privileged, narcissistic, creepy little stalker who doesn't know how the meaning of the word "no". That and what they will inevitably be doing to Kurt's character. Complete character assassination of the character who was once so inspiring to many, as well as the character assassination of his once supportive father Burt. I won't go into details, because I know people probably don't' want spoilers, but I'll just say that I'm done. Completely done.

→ My new room mate moved in. She's nice, but it doesn't seem like we'll be really good friends. I've asked her out several times, thinking that she might want to see RI, but she's declined. Oh well. I do miss being friends with my room mate though, even though my last one could be really passive aggressive at times. I would love to have my own place, but I feel like I'll never be able to afford it. AT least until I pay off my car loan and my insurance drops.

→ I've been feeling very nostalgic for Queer as Folk. I actually almost re-watched Season 1 the other day. However, Season 5 killed me, and I'm just not over it, even though it's been years. I've gotten back into reading QaF fic though, which is helpful, since there are so few Kadam (Kurt/Adam Crawford) fics, or Kurtbastian fics. It's all Klaine, all the time, which makes me enraged and physically ill (what with how unhealthy that relationship is). I just wish BJfic.net hadn't died. So much good stories were lost.

→ I've been in the mood to read lately. I bought Orange is the New Black memoir for my book club later in the month. I also bought the audio book and ebook and hardcover additional of Chris Colfer's The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell. I've bought the hardcover of his second book in the series as well, The Enchantress Returns, and I'll purchase the ebook and audio book once I finish The Wishing Spell. It'll be good for me to start reading again, and it's good to pass the time on the train, so I don't end up reading all the good fic in existence since I've been going through fic like crazy!

Livejournal has spotlighted this community, which is a subset of ontd_ai (aka my home on the internet since June) for our participation in the Adam Lambert DonorsChoose.org fan group competition and our efforts to raise money for various projects for DonorsChoose.org. We're trying to raise as much money as possible for schools in underprivileged areas, so kids will be able to have the proper materials to experience music and arts education. This is a really important cause, and it's very personal to me, because the arts, theatre especially, played such a huge part in my education. OMG, AN UPDATE.

I just wanted to welcome all the new people to my flist. I've added quite a few people in the last couple of months, but I've rarely posted anything. Sorry about that!

So LJ is being a real bitch. I'm pretty sure it's somehow un-adding people that I had previously added. Already I had to re-add three people today that I KNOW I did not defriend. Two of these people were just added today, and another was added about a month ago. This is so weird. Fucking weird.

If you're from ontd_ai and I was supposed to add you from one of the friending memes within the past few months (or the one today), but for some reason, I still haven't added you, please comment here. LJ is seriously fucking up. Grrrrr.

And of course, I have nothing of value to talk about except that OMG I'M GOING TO THE AMERCIAN IDOL CONCERT ON TUESDAY. First of all,

You know it's fucking true.

Now that I've got your attention, if you're an Adam Lambert fan, please vote as much as possible for him tonight.

There's a lot of Adam hate going around, much of which has nothing to do with his singing, and it's making me sick. I want Adam to win this thing despite all the haters. Kris is awesome as well, but there are some people voting for him solely because they hate Adam. I've been reading things like people are voting for Kris because Adam is gay, because Adam wears makeup and nail polish and dresses "emo", because Katy Perry wore his name on a cape (yeah, right, because Adam totally hand-stitched it for her), because Adam is not Christian, etc. That is so fucked up. I'm getting pretty sick of society's inability to accept people who are not exactly like the fucking norm. Adam is different and I love that about him.

Anyway, if you're a fan, try to vote as much as possible. Phone lines will be open for four hours! Start voting BEFORE the show ends. In addition, you can use gizmo to vote for Adam an additional three hours, after voting has closed in your time zone. International fans can use Gizmo to vote as well.

Okay, so I just cut my flist down from 218 people to 160. I did it kind of quickly so I may have fucked up (I always mess up with things like this - my eyes can't handle it, lol). If you were cut, and you're confused as to why, my last post may shed some light on that. I cut some people who I feel I've drifted from, and it was really hard to do it. I would love to re-connect with a lot of you, so if you're open to that, we can talk on AIM sometime and we can go from there. I hope no one is offended, though I'll understand if you are. If you were cut, it does not mean that I don't care about you, because that's not true. I'm going to be doing even more cuts soon. I'm drifting away from blinkies, QaF fandom things (though I love QaF I'm just not involved in the fandom anymore - Season 5 kind of killed it for me), and LJ in general, so that weighed a bit on my decision. Friends Cut

I think this has been a long time coming. My flist is getting too big, and there are so many people on here that I've either lost touch with, or just never really got to know very well in the first place. I'm going to be doing some pretty big cuts within the next few days. I just did one now, but I need to get back to studying so I wasn't able to finish. I hope there's no hard feelings, because this isn't about anyone. I just am starting to get to a point where I want my flist smaller. I myself know that being cut from someone's flist is not a nice experience, as it has happened to me many times, usually for the same reasons as I'm doing now. It's not personal against anyone who was cut, so I hope it's not taken that way, but I can understand how it would be (because as I said, I've been there.)

I don't know what I'm trying to say with this, but I do hope that there isn't any hard feelings. There may be a time in the furture when I'm not so depressed/closed off that I want more friends again.

If anyone ever wants to contact me, feel free to IM me. Just because we're not on each other's flists, does not mean that we can't talk, you know? :)

Again, I will be doing more cuts soon (new people, you're excluded from this because that wouldn't be fair). Sorry guys.

Friend's Cut

This is the first time I've ever done a friend's cut. I told myself that I never would, and I totally suck for doing this now. I only cut a few people, and most of the journals that I defriended either didn't have me friended, were inactive, were example and/or credit journals, or I just haven't talked to the person in a while, or at all.

I'm not sure if I'll do this again - I hope not - but it's very hard to keep up with my flist. I hate getting defriended because I don't comment much, so I would never do that to anyone here. That's not why I did this. It's just that I plan on using this journal more, I think, and it will be more personal. Not too many people seem actually interested in the things that I post, and I really don't want to pour my heart out people who I've never even talked to on LJ before.

I'm sorry. :( If you were cut, and want to be added back, just comment here and I'll readd you.

Attention QaF People

Hey guys! I'd like some help from all you QaF fans (or people who USED to be fans of the show). I have an obsession with requesting custom graphics in communities, and I often use pictures from QaF. However, I'm totally out of inspiration. I can't think of what pictures I'd like to use (they need to be good quality or icon makers at the communities I'm in won't use them), and I always have trouble thinking up the text to go with the picture. I'm so SICK of using the SAME pictures, or the SAME text, that I can't stand it anymore. I want something new.

So, here's my challenge for you. Post a picture of Brian and Justin (just not one of them fucking or totally naked...I know, I know, that just took the fun out of everything), OR one of Justin by himself, along with text to go with the picture. The text can be anything - a direct quote from the show, a lyric from a song used in the show, ANY song lyric, something that you just came up with off the top of your head - whatever. I'd prefer the text and/or picture NOT be a funny one...I like ones that show Brian and Justin's love for each other, and all that crap. Please, nothing that is cruel towards B/J (both as a couple, or individually). I will even give you credit in my user pictures for the idea.

I know this is totally lame, but I have a ton of icons that I need to request (as in, makers are waiting for me to request them), and I can't think of anything. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't have to post a picture, or text. You can just do one or the other, but if you do both, that would be great. Thank you to anyone who decides to help me out. ^_^
