With my deepest sympathy I regret to inform you that this community has almost completely died.
And with Sherlock coming out no less!!!

I updated the layout as the previous one was no longer working, thanks for notifying me spockside!!!

I would like to know if anyone still wants to use this community or if we should abandon it altogether. If you all want to keep it around we will need some new mods to help keep things going as I rarely have the time to anymore.

Difficult though it may be, try to imagine Robert Downey Jr and Sean Penn practising their scales as they warm up their voices to sing for roles in the movie version of Les Miserables. They’re just two of the names being studied by film executives involved in pre-production for the movie version of mega-musical Les Miserables.

Tom Hooper, who won a best director Oscar for The King’s Speech, is in the final throes of sorting his deal with Working Title and Cameron Mackintosh to direct the picture. He’ll sign in a few weeks, then go into a huddle with writer Bill Nicholson to complete the screenplay. A casting director will then be appointed, followed by other key production staff.

But there will be no motion picture if the right actors can’t be found to play the main leads of Jean Valjean, the heroic ex-prisoner, and Inspector Javert, his relentless pursuer.

Robert Downey Jr said it will be `weird` to film Iron Man 3 without Jon Favreau

Favreau starred and directed previous two Iron Man films, but won't be involved this time around, with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang's Shane Black taking on directorial duties.Downey Jr told MTV News, "It is weird. I think there's always a closure to everything. This will all come to an end one day, and I think the thing is to just really enjoy it while you have it."

Downey Jr also said the pair were still very much on friendly terms, commenting, "He's up to great stuff with Cowboys & Aliens coming up. I just spoke with him a few weeks ago and we were quite friendly."Iron Man 3 is expected to be released in 2013.

First details of Shane Black's 'Tom Clancy'-like 'Iron Man 3' revealed

And now, according to Ain't It Cool, we have an answer. Shane Black appeared this weekend at the Omaha Film Festival, along with some other guests like Tom Elkins, Mauro Fiore, and Ted Griffin, and one of the people who was in the audience wrote in to AICN to talk about what Black revealed regarding "Iron Man 3."

Here's the paraphrased version of what they ran: Shane Black is about to meet with Robert Downey Jr. this week in Los Angeles. They'll be discussing the story and Black will, indeed, be writing the film.

Marvel Studios wants to make sure this third film isn't just a retread of the first two. They want to make sure this next film doesn't just end up as another film about "two men in iron suits fighting each other," and I agree. I think that's a great impulse. Tony Stark's had a long history in print, and for the first two films to be so similar in shape is probably a mistake. If they're serious about taking the film in a Tom Clancy-like direction, with Iron Man fighting real-world villains, it's a cool direction to take the series. It sounds like after "The Avengers," Marvel's focusing on making movies that stand alone again, which is also a very strong impulse.

Robert Downey Jr. & P.T. Anderson May Shoot ‘Inherent Vice’ This Fall

Robert Downey Jr. appears to be clearing a space in his busy schedule to shoot P.T. Anderson’s adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel ‘Inherent Vice’ this fall. Robert Downey Jr. may be the busiest actor on the planet right now, what with him currently finishing up Sherlock Holmes 2 before starting production on Marvel’s The Avengers in just a few month’s time and Iron Man 3 slated to shoot sometime next year.

However, even with all those high-profile projects in the works, Downey still has some room in his schedule this fall, and word is he’s going to be filling it with Paul Thomas Anderson’s adaptation of elusive author Thomas Pynchon’s novel Inherent Vice, which may have recently obtained the necessary funding to go into production.

Known for his sprawling and epic yarns about life and society, Pynchon’s Inherent Vice has a somewhat simple premise:

Our burnout hero, private dick Doc Sportello, agrees to find the new lover of his ex-girlfriend Shasta and soon gets mixed up in a case more convoluted than he could’ve imagined, including Thai hookers, a motorcycle gang, a surf-rock saxophonist, and a narcotics dealer named El Drano.

The novel explores the culture of 1960s America – an era in which many people fed up with the button-down attitudes of the ’50s “rebelled” by simply doing nothing (except lots of drugs) and somehow managed to at once be burnouts, deadbeats and great achievers of creativity, spirit and social change.

I would imagine that for Downey’s role we’ll be getting a cross between Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Big Lebowski, while Anderson is sure to be a fitting match for Pynchon’s…er, penchant for deep social x-ray and satire. Anderson is also great at picking tales that serve as strong metaphors for aspects of the Americana experience, so I’m sure he’ll do well conveying subplots from Inherent Vice (such as the Charles Manson trials) that examine how America’s collective mindstate was changing and or being “altered” during that time.

Needless to say: I’m excited to hear that Anderson is tackling this project, and RDJ is of course a great leading man for this film – he’ll make it fun to watch a film that has a layered and humorous story to tell.

PRODUCER/DIRECTOR TODD Phillips follows up his mega-successful “The Hangover” with this charming enough, “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” rip-off.

This time it’s Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis together on a road trip from Atlanta to Los Angeles. Downey is Peter, a jerky architect trying to get home to L.A. for his wife's C-section delivery of their first child. Galifianakis is Ethan, the lovable moron who gets them kicked off their flight. Not surprisingly, they end up sharing a car. Jamie Foxx and Juliette Lewis do nice work in cameo roles.

This comedy hits Blu-ray with an impeccable hi-def transfer that is incredibly detailed, colorful and eye-catching. It’s a true knockout. The uncompressed soundtrack is a winner as well, offering an engaging, nuanced mix with crystal clear dialogue and a smattering of impressive sound effects. The movie can be purchased in Blu-ray, as a DVD and as a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo.

The disc is shockingly light on special features. Raunchy, R-rated comedies tend to get loaded with bonus material, unrated cuts, etc. “Due Date” gets only a scant 17-minutes of extras spread across the gag reel, and some pretty dreadful deleted and extended scenes.
