About 30 of you are new here because I had a note go viral two weeks ago. WELCOME! I’m pulling a few fan faves out of the archives for you to read.
It seems insane to be thinking about having fun right now. I’ve been slightly better about how often I’m checking the news, and quitting my personal instagram account means I’m no longer being yanked around by the constant headline remix but I still sat in my car for 20 minutes before going into the coworking space today. Even with nothing to check I just sat there. Coat on. Heater running. Staring into the glossy black screen like if I shook it hard enough it might tell me the future.
Outlook not good.
Lately I think a lot about Black Americans. Black Americans and first generation immigrant Americans and Hispanic Americans and Indigenous Americans and really anyone who comes from a long line of family members who have done the unimaginable to carve out some kind of life under the boot heels of people who are hell bent on believing…
