They're all around the same height, clad in black MJOLNIR with gunmetal faceplates that hide their every emotion. It's almost impossible to tell them apart from each other.

Outside the armor, One is hardly the picture of femininity. Harsh training since childhood has eliminated most of her female figure, leaving her with little curves and small breasts, although her face could still be considered beautiful and feminine if it wasn't covered in scars. She has tan skin and is of indiscernible ethnic background (likely Latina mutt). Her dark brown hair hair is clipped short except for a patch at her bangs that's bleached blonde which she has allowed to grow somewhat longer, but still not enough to get in her eyes. She is missing her left eye, which was put out as a teenager, and inside the socket she has a pure silver, seemingly cybernetic false eye (whether she has sight in it is never explicitly said, but it does appear she has little problem anyway). Around the eye she has no eyelashes due to the intense amount of scarring.
One has a total of two whole panels as an adult, one in which is seen here. Otherwise I use Shannyn Sossamon as a PB.
Appearance upon arrival: As seen above, but in her MJOLNIR armor. She's a bit tan, from all that sun she's been getting.

History:
Previous RP memories:
Black-One spent almost a year in Amat, in which during that time she had minor changes to her personality.

Spartans are prohibited from having romantic and sexual relationships except in the case of retirement; Atia is an island where those kind of relationships are essential to survival. She had to make a few friends she usually wouldn't and forged unlikely alliances; needless to say, she branched off from the insular dynamics of her team and was actually became a bit friendlier.

That's if, you weren't a Freelancer.
Being in a panfandom setting exposed One to other Spartans who were post-War (Halo), Freelancers, and simulation soldiers (RvB). She viewed the RvB cast as a problem and spent much of her time 'policing' the Freelancers and trying to teach the simulation soldiers some semblance of competence. Largely, the relationship she had with Freelancers was antagonistic in nature.

Just to bullet point some things she knows--
-- The war with the Covenant is over and the Elites largely allied with humans
-- The Flood is bad news, yo. B(
-- My family is deaaaaaad. ...Mostly.

-- Church is an AI and the other Freelancer AI (like Delta) are fragmented from him
-- Texas is an AI
-- The experiments that Freelancer performed with giving people AI (and the failed subjects)
-- The simulation soldiers are all pretty much idiots and how the hell did they get into the army
-- The RvB cast's armor is some kind of knock-off MJOLNIR

So here we have One and her brother Black-Four going batshit over what to do with the sim soldiers and Freelancers. This ended up in a few conflicts, a lot of disagreements. For the most part, though they got along with the AI. One eventually made an uneasy alliance with one Freelancer that eventually grew into something deeper -- flirting, a few dates here and there -- until she finally caved and began a relationship with him.
Obviously, some of these might be problems for some people, so I'm willing to retcon knowledge of some things if it ends up a problem.

Bringing someone along?: N/A
Character History: Wiki article here.

Personality:
First, to get a better idea about Black-One's personality there needs to be a little bit of background info on her. One is a Spartan-II -- career soldiers that have been trained since childhood and were put through a number of potentially fatal surgeries and medical treatments to enhance their bodies. Their life as Spartans are the only thing they've known. They've been indoctrinated; they were taught to behave in certain ways and believe certain things. The Spartan-IIs in general are often universally regarded as being rock solid in the face of life threatening situations, dedicated to their job, and willing to die if it means accomplishing the mission. They're people who have been carefully crafted into war machines.

Spartan BLACK is an elite team of Spartans designated as an unconventional warfare unit. Unlike their brothers and sisters who were usually deployed to front-line fighting, Black's role was to go behind enemy lines, infiltrate their ships and bases, and sabotage them. In other words, they performed government sanctioned terrorist acts against the Covenant. Because of the nature of their unit, Black Team was kept a closely guarded ONI secret, even from their fellow Spartans. Needless to say, they've been isolated for a very long time and so their team dynamics are very insular.

Black-One was was selected as a child and trained for the position as team leader of Black Team. Although it's unlikely that they had already designated the unit role of Black Team that early on, it has to be taken into consideration for the ground work of her personality. Her role as a leader defines her as much as she defines it. She isn't one of those hit-or-miss situations of giving a person power before the individual can prove that he or she can handle it; the roles of individual Spartans within their team dynamics are chosen by the basic personality traits they displayed. To support it, One was trained and shaped to hold herself with an air of authority and trained to reason out all possibilities to decide the best actions. One's whole being centers around her responsibility as leader. Her whole demeanor is confident and commands respect.

One manages to have the final say in decisions without being overly authoritarian, but she will put her foot down if her subordinates are getting distracted; her word is law. Black Team expects her to make the right decisions, but she accepts that she is not completely infallible -- that her reasoning operates best with the input of others. She listens to the rest of team, weighing in all their opinions, but in the end they still look to her to decide the final course of action. She fucks up sometimes -- she's only human -- and she makes decisions they don't always agree with, but One always means the best for them. She doesn't coddle her team; she's basically a realist and extremely blunt. She acknowledges that their job is dangerous and that they may come away with fewer numbers after each mission.

SPARTANS are already known to have excellent emotional control, some more than others. One seems to fit somewhere on a middle ground emotion-wise. She's not very emotional-- at least, not extremely reactive. For example, when in Blunt Instruments, when the team is split up and they were under heavy fire, One inquired their status with a simple, "Who's dead?", but this could also be contributed to her characteristic dry, dark humor. She calm, collected, takes everything in stride; it allows her to react and think with a cool head and keep herself from making impulsive actions. It's one of her better traits.

Not saying she's completely without emotions, she just has them under tight control. She feels fear when the situation looks bad, just like any other human. She's been bitterly angry, but she bottles that up and endures silently. She feels guilt, she feels self blame. She's had the precious relationship of her team torn apart and felt grief for that, and pieced it back together. One believes in revenge but doesn't hold grudges past that. It's a silent statement, one that's caused problems because she'll go to the point of refusing to confess an apology or who were responsible for a wrongdoing. She's capable of loving on deep levels and has a close relationship with her team, enough to become the romantic interest of the two male members, and have an intimate relationship with one of them. She also attaches very easily to others, swiftly welcoming Iona into their little 'family', which is shown by the transition of her calling her simply 'AI' to her name. One also can form an uneasy friendship with a would-be enemy in just a few hours.

One's single quirk would have to be her sense of humor. As a child, she was noted for playing pranks on her fellow SPARTAN team members, such as spiking their food. Now that she's grown, her sense of humor is a little more muted, a little darker, but she does come up with cute nicknames for things, such as calling a train a "choo-choo" as well as phrasing things humorously in what would normally be a serious situation, such as conversing with a fellow prisoner, a sangheili, like they were buddies. Her humor can lean towards somewhat sarcastic at times, mostly in the face of a grim situation, but it's not usually malicious.

Extra:
Character Abilities: Spartan-II's have been enhanced beyond normal human physical characteristics, as well having been born with nearly perfect genetic and mental characteristics. Spartan-II's tend to be around 7'-7'5 tall and have bodies that are in extremely excellent shape. One can lift three times her body weight without her armor, has a reaction time in the miliseconds, and run at a top speed higher than 50km/h. She also has an extremely quick recovery time, can jump to great heights, and has eyesight so good she has virtual night vision.

In the armor, all these physical attributes are enhanced even beyond that. Her armor is also colored black to allow her to blend easier into shadows and her HUD has a field of view of nearly five thousand meters. She also has the ability to implant a seventh-generation Smart AI into her armor.

On the other hand Spartans are still human and can still be killed by serious injury (it's just kinda hard; they're extremely tough). MJOLNIR: Black is also a skunkworks armor with faulty biofoam. If she were to break a limb into an awkward position, it would sometimes be set by the biofoam in that position.

Possessions:
- prototype MJOLNIR Black armor
- a Type-1 Energy sword.
- M6G Magnum Sidearm, no extra clips

Anything else: One lost her eye as a young teenager and had it replaced by a robotic prosthesis. Her skin is horrifically scarred around it, and the prosthesis itself is completely silver with parts that extend over her brow and cheek.

Samples:
Action/Communication thread/post sample: Here and Here.

Log/Prose sample: Here.

The Forerunners were a super advanced race that were the pimps of the galaxy until they came down with a parasitic space AIDS called The Flood and everything went to shit. The Flood pretty much nearly wiped them out, so they built a bunch of these high tech installations to study it, and the Halo arrays, which they pretty much used to wipe out all life, thus eliminating the Flood while killing themselves. Yay. But the story about the Halos is not important for this subplot.

So here comes humans. Humans survived the whole Halo thing by the fact the Forerunner preserved the species along with a bunch of others, and lived on to have our long bloody history of killing each other. Eventually humans got tired of killing each other and decided to turn their eyes to space, in which they met up with new people to kill.

Or rather, the new people wanted to kill humans. Enter the Covenant. The Covenant is a religious union of a few alien species, and they decided that the human race were a bunch of heretics and needed to be wiped out. So begins a long, bloody, brutal war. To fight against the Covenant, the UNSC put together a number of programs to try and create soldiers that could hold their own against the massive fighting power of the Covenant. One of those programs were the Spartan-IIs. Spartan-II's were children taken at a young age, then trained and augmented to be gigantic, super strong, super smart, and super fast. Thus, they are totally GAR.

Fireteam Black is one of the teams of Spartans put into use, specializing in infiltration and sabotage. That means that they'd go deep into enemy space, allow themselves to be captured, then fuck the Covenant up from the inside. They were obvious pretty good at this, since they were still alive after roughly 30 years of active service. Anyway, Fireteam Black was on their way on a mission called BLOWBACK to do exactly that, when their ship was crashed by an unknown alien technology together with a Covenant ship, and then shenanigans ensued inside an ancient Forerunner Installation called 'The Line'. Pretty much, one of the old Forerunner AI there was still active, and decided to kidnap a few of the guests in its area and dissect them to see if they had immunity to the Flood. And such is the main plotline of Blood Line.

Personality:
Black-One was not chosen to lead Fireteam Black because of rank or through demonstration. She was selected as a child and trained for the position. You have to take this into consideration for the ground work of her personality. Her role as a leader defines her as much as she defines it. She isn't a hit-or-miss situation of giving a person power before they can prove that they can handle it like royalty; One's whole being centers around her responsibility as leader. One was trained and shaped to hold herself with an air of authority. Her whole demeanor is confident and commands respect. Her mind was cultivated into being able to reason out all possibilities to decide the best actions.

One manages to have the final say in decisions without being overly authoritarian. Her word is law and her team expects her not to fuck things up, but she accepts that she is not completely infallible and that her decisions operate best with the input of others. She's open to listen to the rest of team, weighing in all their opinions, but in the end they still look to her to decide the best course of action, and she will put her foot down if one of her subordinates is getting distracted. When the course of action turns out to be a bad decision, none of them really seem to blame her. For example, Two was the one who suggested allying with the Yanme'e on Verge, which One agreed with and issued the commands. When this decision went horribly awry and put them all in potentially lethal danger, Two was the one who shouldered the guilt. However, when One made the decision to leave the injured Three behind since it put the rest of the team in too much risk, Two refused to listen to the order.

SPARTANS are already known to have excellent emotional control, some more than others. One seems to find a middle ground. She's not very emotional-- at least, not extremely reactive. When in Blunt Instruments, when the team is split up and they're under heavy fire, One inquires their status with a simple, "Who's dead?", and later in Blood Line when faced up against a hundred enemies with little O2, she's just as calm and casual about it as the rest of the team. She's neither negative or positive and she doesn't coddle her team. She's basically a realist and extremely blunt. She acknowledges that their job is dangerous and that they may come away with fewer numbers after each mission, but she doesn't let this become a discouragement. In Blunt Instruments, she reminds her team that if things were easy, then they wouldn't be considered 'heroes'.

She isn't completely without emotions. She's capable of feeling anger and fear. Fear isn't something SPARTANS are accustomed to, but when faced with roughly around 300 or more Yanme'e, about 150 more than her estimate, it's described that One felt her stomach drop. One also can form an uneasy friendship with a would-be enemy in just a few hours, in which she bonded with a sangeilei and later saved his life.
As a child, she's seen to be bitterly angry as she's alone in the brig after her relationship with Three was discovered and forceably ended. However, though her relationship resulted in a horrible beating by Red Team -- including the loss of her eye -- when interrogated who had done that to her by a superior, she does not tell. She doesn't seem to hold any resentment towards Red Team either, probably shouldering the responsibility of her immature actions herself. Though she is fully aware it was Four who squealed on her, she shows no resentment towards him and is still extremely close and loyal to him, later voicing this forgiveness. The same goes for the rest of Team Black. They're her family and nothing can change that. One's one fault about her emotions is that when something negative happens to her, she refuses to talk about it and instead bottles up all her negative emotion. As she forgives easily, it doesn't cause much resentment, but she will go to the point of not voicing an apology or her forgiveness.

One's single quirk would have to be her sense of humor. As a child, she was noted for playing pranks on her fellow SPARTAN team members, such as spiking their food. Now that she's grown, her sense of humor is a little more muted, but she does come up with cute nicknames for things, such as calling a train a "choo-choo" as well as phrasing things humorously in what would normally be a serious situation, such as conversing with a fellow prisoner, a sangheili, like they were buddies. Her humor can lean towards somewhat sarcastic at times, mostly in the face of a grim situation, but as mentioned before, she's never really downright negative.

Abilities and Weaknesses:
Spartan-II's have been enhanced beyond normal human physical characteristics, as well having been born with nearly perfect genetic and mental characteristics. Spartan-II's tend to be around 7'-7'5 tall and have bodies that are in extremely excellent shape. One can lift three times her body weight without her armor, has a reaction time in the miliseconds, and run at a top speed higher than 50 mph. MJOLNIR: Black is also a skunkworks armor with faulty biofoam. If she were to break a limb into an awkward position, it would sometimes be set by the biofoam in that position.

<s>Also has a weakness for loud gingers.</s>
Inventory:
- prototype MJOLNIR Black armor
- a Type-1 Energy sword.
- M6G Magnum Sidearm, no extra clips

Appearance:
Inside the armor, One looks and sounds just like everyone else on her team: giant, imposing, and almost inhuman. Around the eye she has no eyelashes due to the intense amount of scarring.

Also I'm a slut and the two canon panels of her out of armor when she was't 12 years old aren't enough for me, so I use Shannyn Sossamon as a PB. <s>Don't judge me.</s>

Age: approx. 41

OC/AU Justification ;
If AU, How is Your Version Different From Canon, and How Will That Come Across?
If OC, Did You Run Your Character Through a Mary-Sue Litmus Test? ALL SPARTANS ARE SUES
And What Did You Score?

Samples ;
Log Sample:
"Welcome to Sacrosanct. Please watch your step."

Wonderful. One moment she was commandeering a Covenant cruiser, the next she was falling.

Black-One runs her hand over the chest plate of her armor, flaking off dried bits of sangheili blood and smearing the rest of it. She picks bits of metal off her shoulder plates, shaking the rest off her body as she gets to her feet, jaw set underneath her helmet. Her eyes skimmed the landscape of the junkyard, motion tracker searching for other potential life, only picking up the faint movement of scavengers and falling debris. No signals from the rest of her team, nothing.

"Damnit," she mumbles quietly to herself, trying a few different frequencies and coming up with nothing. Her stomach drops, but she keeps her composure. There were a million possibilities as to why she was getting no answer, especially in an unfamiliar alien territory.

One does a quick assessment of her armor, checking to see if everything was in working order, fingers lingering over the new addition, checks to see how much ammo she had left in her magnum, then set off towards the exit. There's nothing here for her -- not yet at least -- and there was probably more information to be gained outside this junkyard.

Network Sample:
[ AUDIO ]

[ The audio function snaps on and there's only a moment of silence before a six note, six beat tone can be heard over the frequency.

A few minute pause follows, then a completely androgynous, quick, and direct voice breaks the silence. ]

This is Black-One broadcasting on an open channel.
