2015 fandom meme

Your main fandom of 2015: DC comics fo sho. Specifically those of the Batman flavor.

Your favorite film of 2015: Kingsman: The Secret Service. It was just so. SO. Goodness gracious, let me count the ways I loved that movie. TARON. MARK STRONG. THE CHURCH SCENE. Fuuuuucking Eggsy Unwin. So much goodness and I wish everyone I knew was as obsessed with it as I am.

Your favorite book of 2015: I didn't read a whole lot in the way of actual books this year, but I second doreyg on The Girl With all the Gifts by MR Carey. Super creepy and really well done and kept me on the edge of my seat. The imagery was amazing and it was a super original zombie story, I thought.

Comics-wise, probably Hawkeye. I have so many feelings about that damn series that I STILL haven't read the last issue. I'm just not ready to let it go.

Your favorite album or song of 2015: I've been really lacking in the music part of my life, sadly, and everything I can think of is really embarassing :p I really enjoyed the latest FOB album though.

Your favorite TV show of 2015: Kingdom. Nick Jonas as an angsty, gay MMA fighter and Matt Lauria with DESTOYER tattooed on his back? Tell me exactly how I could not love that.

Your best new fandom discovery of 2015: Kingsman! I didn't expect for there to be much fic for it AND BOY HOWDY WAS I EVER WRONG. It's beautiful.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of 2015: I don't actually remember if this was 2015 or not, but the last thing that really disappointed me was Age of Ultron. Just no...to that entire film.

Your biggest squee moment of 2015: The issue of Grayson where Dick goes back and runs into Jason, Tim, Damian, and Babs. I think my face STILL hurts from grinning so hard.

Your most missed old fandom: Gotham. I mean, I'm so mad at what they did because I loved that show like AIR and Tuesday's were mine and Rachel's Gotham Day!! But you can't have Alfred smack a little girl and expect me to keep watching your show. Sorry no.

Your fandom you haven’t tried yet, but want to? Star Wars, maybe. I freaking LOVED that movie, but I didn't actually leave feeling all that fannish about it? But I've been thinking about reading some fic, so we'll see. Also I really need there to be a Girls Meets World fandom with Grown-ups so I can read 8 billionty polyfics about CoreyTopangaShawn. :D

Your biggest anticipation of the New Year: THE KINGSMAN SEQUEL. Okay that's 2017 BUT I'LL BE ANTICIPATING FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS. But no, I can't wait for the Deadpool movie and it's almost heeeeeeeere. And Civil War. Steve and Bucky will always be epic to me and that movie looks like one big love letter to them.

Jason waits on a bar stool. The couch had felt too comfortable, too much like home. Too much like some place he wasn’t welcome.

From the Jay/Tim fic that's been needing to be finished for so long I can't remember. In this fic the pit made Jason immortal and well, Tim does't deal with it very well. One big angst bomb with, in theory, a happy ending. Maybe this will encourage me to actually finish it.

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?

This fandom has made me CRAZY. I have never written this much for any fandom, ever. It's awesome and amazing and I LOVE IT. Except how much I hate it when I can't write but nevermind that :p

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year?

Hm, as a rule I never rule anything out because I know how I am with pairings lol. But probably Hal/Bruce. Because I am VERY possessive of Bruce and generally don't like anyone who isn't a Robin touching him but...I have no idea. I'm somehow able to like, compartmentalize it in my head and be cool with it. What a novel concept, eh? :p

Also I wrote some things for Check Please! And would've liked to write more, but good gravy that fandom scared me away.

What's your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.

The one that makes me happiest and will forever make me happy anytime I think of it is "I Made This Place For You. It's little fluffy snapshots of Bruce and Jay being adorably domestic, which I quickly found out is something I love MORE THAN LIFE. Like yes, give me all the porn please and thank you, but I will also take all of your domestic boys pls.

Buuut Let's Pause And Add Our Own Intentions also makes me pretty happy because it's the longest thing I've ever written. I'm still amazed at that tbqh.

That would be Torture Me With All I've Wanted, my Jay/Tim D/s series thingy where Tim's a needy little sub and Jason takes care of him. Apparently people really dig that!

Story that could have been better?

Lol definitely all of them. I half-ass my way through life, yo. But no, We Keep This Love In a Photograph fucking haunts me almost on a daily basis. I go back and forth between wanting to tear it down and just saying fuck it. And I don't even know why. It's probably because I actually tried with that one lol. Idk I just feel like it could have been SO MUCH BETTER.

Sexiest story?

Honestly? And this is something I actually never thought I'd write or even want to read, but What You Need I Need Too. Someone on twitter mentioned reading sub!Jay and I was intrigued and in the middle of a major writing funk and when I'm in a funk I like to try out new things, so I gave it a shot and...it's not something I want to read a lot of and it's not even really about Jay being submissive. It's about them taking care of each other, I think. And maybe it's just because it's something I don't usually read or write, but I thought it was pretty hella hot.

Also, anything with princess!Jay in it. ;)

Saddest story?

I...actually got out of the habit of writing angst and now prefer to write only fluff and filth with little angsty cameos. :p So I had to go way back, but I think "You're Coming Home," is pretty fuckin sad. But maybe that's me still being sad that I can't watch Gotham anymore.

Most fun?

Crescendo, definitely. Tim kicking ass in a dress and heels + filthiness. I mean. Yes.

Story with single sweetest moment?

You Are The Survivor Of More Than One Life. You know the scene.

Hardest story to write?

Definitely "Let's Pause And Add Our Own Intentions" because I am such a quitter lol. I like to bang out a couple thousand words and be DONE with it. I wanted to quit writing that so many times, but Rachel was my cheerleader and I actually finished it! Still amazing!

Easiest/most fun story to write?

I remember having a lot of fun writing "Laugh To Erase The Dirt On Your Mind." Just because writing slutty!Tim is pretty much the funnest thing ever. And Roy calling him Yoko. I still laugh at that ngl.

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?

Not my perception of them no. But I have learned a lot about them and gotten into their heads more by writing them so much and developed all sorts of little headcanons about them THAT ARE SLOWLY BECOMING REAL CANON.

Most overdue story?

Probably You Are The Survivor Of More Than One Life because I'd been thinking about it and wanting to write something like that for EVER.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

I pretty much take a risk every time I post something because I'm terrified of criticism lol. No, that's not true. I'm just afraid of crazy people. But also I post some pretty filthy, dubious shit, so half the time I'd probably deserve it.

What did I learn, though?

I leared that Roy Harper would never ever smoke pot and Jason Todd is a mermaid. And that underage hookers would totally not eat Ramen noodles. (see above, re: crazy people.)
