The Waterloo-Wellington Branch of Ontario Ancestors (OGS) was established in 1972 by Eldon Weber and Jacqueline Norris to serve both Waterloo and Wellington counties. In 1991, the branch aimed to better serve its wide region by appointing two vice chairs—one for each county— and dividing committee work accordingly. On the branch’s 25th anniversary in 1997, it was decided to split into two separate groups. Wellington officially became its own branch in 2001, allowing Waterloo to focus more directly on its local genealogical community.
Founded in 1972, the Waterloo-Wellington Branch split in 2001 to better serve each county, allowing Waterloo to focus on its local genealogical community.
