What I got from this episode?

First of all, disappointing klaine wise! That fight had a whole lot of Santana, who was amazing, but not enough Blaine to satisfy my protective-boyfriend-fist fight needs. Not that I really wanted Blaine to turn into the Hulk or anything but still. And damnit, I couldn't help wishing that Kurt and Blaine had been holding hands while walking down the hallway. Come on.
Just the first day you meet Blaine, but whoa whoa whoa, we're in a relationship now? Slow down cowboy.

I don't ask for much Glee.

Second of all, Sandy might be my favorite thing ever. Predatory gay? Gold. Everything about Sue's group. I missed Terry terribly. But I was super disappointed that Tina frickin got interrupted. Seriously? Ugh.
Brittany's cat disease knowledge was the best.

BUT THE PROMO, I'M SO DAMN READY FOR THIS.

What what what??

The kurt and blaine kiss scene was originally longer??
Ok, call me dumb but I just figured that for the most part they had everything mapped out as far as time/they would only write for that small space of time. BUT NOW I CAN'T GO A SECOND LONGER NOT KNOWING WHAT CONVERSATION THEY HAD

So now that I'm finished crying over the fic Sickness by heroes_and_cons , I have to say, I'm not sure if I've ever read anything quite so heart wrenching. The fact that people believed they had a sickness, were mentally ill, is bad enough but when Kurt comes to the realization that they can literally never actually be together, no home together, nothing but secrets, that killed me.

I commented with this rant:

This may be kind of pointless but it's been awhile since I've been so affected. Sometimes I look at my girlfriend and think how lucky we are, and how I can't even fathom living in a world where people would try and stop us from being together. All joking and Darren Criss crisis aside, I love her more than anything. She is one of the kindest, most wonderful people I've had the privilege to meet. The fact that someone could call our feelings wrong or look at her with even an ounce of disgust, tears me to pieces. I just want to yell and kick and scream on her behalf and just ask every homophobe why they would ever want to hurt such a loving person.

....

Sorry for being such a downer flist.
obvious/predictable rant is obvious/predictable.

EDIT:

OH TODAY YOU ARE A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTION
SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW. OVERWHELMING JOY IS LITERALLY GOING TO SUFFOCATE ME

done i swear.

Listening to Adam Lambert's cd.
Anyone who dislikes it should be shot in the face.
Haha.....

I'm kidding
Mostly. No but really I had low expectations, which may have something to do with it. Sorry but some other Idol debuts left me feeling a tad empty. (Ex. I find Jordan Spark's music to be exceedingly mindless and formulated despite her talent. Even Cook felt a bit restrained, I'm sorry, I still adore him. Don't get me started on poor Archie's.) This one is 110% Adam. And hot damn is it catchy! Not in a cliche way either. I find every song genuinely interesting, both vocally and instrumentally. There isn't too much repetition, variety while still keeping continuity. Even at its most ridiculous I find the album infectious. The lyrics to "If I Had You" won't get out of my head or stop making me laugh at the wonderful exaggeration, "If I had you, life would be a party, it'd be ecstasyyy". This song and "Music Again" have been stuck in my head since the clips leaked. I've never been more excited for an Idol cd. Maybe insanely curious is more accurate, especially after Adam's big " 'F You" of a performance at the AMA's. (saw it as a response to everyone who assumed he was a "puppet to the idol machine/management" that was trying to make him 'less gay' for the public) in which case, kudos Mr. Lambert.
Maybe I also forgive him for any cheesy (mostly slower) moments because I know it's Adam, and I know he's such a strong individual, so I can't help but feel he always made it his own at the very least.
Favorite Tracks: Music Again, Sure Fire Winners, If I Had You, Fever

But what the actual fuck. Tell me I'm not the only one whose heart broke while reading Adam's "Thank You"s, right after his family:

" To Drake: You have the most inspiring spirit. Thank you for keeping it grounded and real. Thank you for reminding me to make art from the soul and live life to its fullest. Boo...lurv you "

Zombies and Autumn

My crappy nostalgic icon is rather appropriate. I think fall of all the seasons definitely makes me the most nostalgic. Around here autumn doesn't last very long so I have very specific memories tied into it. The state fair for example.
I had an amazing kick off to October
First of all, Friday I went to a Pumpkin Party to my friend Matt's house. There was pumpkin carving. The guys made pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pancakes, and pumpkin seeds. Also pumpkin juice, aka orange kool-aide. The weather was wonderful and chill. So many people showed up and everything just felt comfortable. The room smelled like cinnamon and candles, pretty neat. Matt, The Guy, has adorable room mates. I almost want to date him just so I can hang around them. Mark the little italian one was going around offering multiple helpings of his pancakes. To top the whole thing off the boys whipped out Nazi Zombies (Call of Duty bonus game). That really completed the fall experience. I can't tell you how many wonderful memories I have watching my dad play Castle Wolfenstein in our old house.

THEN, I saw Zombieland with Devon and Leslie. Poor Devon might be another one of my gay-boy crushes. He's just so tiny and blonde and spunky and sweet. Not only that, but he loves horror movies and pop punk. God has an interesting sense of humor. Anyways, I digress, Zombieland met all of my needs. There was plenty of gore, more so than I thought there would be actually. Glad to see they didn't wimp out. The action was great. Seriously, zombies and an amusement park? That was a match made in heaven! Also the added quirk of "The Rules" popping up in inventive places on screen during scenes. The actual text. Though I was bothered by the fact that Jesse Eisenberg was basically playing Michael Cera. But he did a pretty nice job, considering. And I love Cera. He had the delivery and facial expressions down. The ending was cheesy but very feel-good. Emma Stone was sexy but too much make up for a zombie apocalypse. and her character was a tad too bitchy to be likeable. Trying too hard to be 'the tough girl' so that they went overboard I think. There needs to be a balance.
Overall I loved it haha.

Lastly, I watched the season premier of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. So uncomfortable watching someone else deliver Simon's lines. And it's one of my History Boys to top it off, which makes it all the less believable. I wish they had let him be a little more goofy. The show was enjoyable but not at all the same. Noel wasn't particularly hilarious but made up for it by being in high-spirits, full of goofy smiles. Nothing can ever fill the Simon-sized hole in my heart.

PS. How many times have I watched the new AFI video? Far, far too many. SO GOOD.

But, definitely unfortunate.

I just want to say, I didn't think it was physically possible for me to love Beyonce any more than I already did. The VMA's proved me wrong. (even though I kind of wished she had performed Beautiful Nightmare, cause she would have tore it up)

Also, Green Day did an phenomenal job. Excellent but unexpected song choice!

I love Placebo's new video.
-Ok that could be multiple things talking, especially since I'm still amped on multiple tom/mark blink vids, and I just love this song.
Perfect choice for a single.

The fact that it was so over the top made the cheesy-psychadelic thing ok. If it had been any less it could have looked awful. That kind of thing needs to be full force. I like that Brian resembled his Nancy Boy days in a view shots there.
I still wanna do steve forrest, hard, like shoved into a deserted alleyway.
I'm not sure if any other human being has been more slash-able.

That digressed quickly.
I did have a sort of revelation though. It's my opinion that if a friend describes a guy as hot, you should steer clear. That usually means they're incredibly attractive and worst of all they know it. There's nothing more dangerous or douchebaggy than that friends.
Now if they describe him as cute or adorable, there's a much better chance of their ego being of a normal size and them actually being nice/genuinely friendly. Not get-in-your-pants friendly.

Just finished season 4 of Queer as Folk.

I almost feel like someone should have warned me!! Lord I thought last season finale was bad! The levels of adorable were frickin off the charts! Criminal! And I was laughing out loud! At Brian Kinney! He(/anyone other than Emmet) was never all that funny before- but oh Gale Harold!

I need time to recover and curse Justin some more, even though these Brian/Justin are kind of essential.

I just got dropped off by my friend Stephen after hanging out with the crew~. (I love that I have one of those, even if the term is obnoxious) But I feel like I really got to know him better and I'm extremely happy it happened. I'm usually caught up in something retarded with Dylan or gravitating to the tsunami of friendliness that is Ande.
But now Stephen and I have had the obligatory Gay Talk and it was actually intensely enlightening. More like he's an intensely enlightened person.
It was insanely refreshing. He's also every bit as sweet as I could ever have hoped, depsite what others have said. Though he probably does need to rethink how many times he's listened to the High School Musical soundtrack. No one should know those songs that well. For the love of god you're in college man! Identifying as gay is no excuse. Dylan rocks Social Distortion despite his affinity for the males/penis, and that's fairly awesome.
I love loving my friends.

AND NOW:
Comment on this entry, and I will:
1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a color, a photo, a word etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.

I seriously thought it would be Spencer/Ryan or Jon alone if anyone was going to leave. Ryden just died. Another piece of my fandom 'childhood' -gone!
Why don't you just gain a few more pounds Frank! That beard is looking a little thin man, I think you should keep it growing!

What next? Patrick Von Stump is going to stop wearing hats? Pete Wentz is going to stop writing lyrics?
Blink 182 already did the whole break-up thing, have at me!

The Picture of Dorian Gray

I'm almost done reading The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Here's my abridged version:

“Harry, it’s terribly hot, I feel a sweat coming on.”
“Ah Dorian you complain of Heat. But heat inspires the greatest of sins, which in turn lead to sweat. Sweat is the essence of life, without it things would be dreadfully dull. My friend, sweat is sin’s brother and I bathe in it. Life is but a long bath, warm and languid at first until your fingers begin to prune and water goes stale and you die. Life is an endless wheel of nothingness, with nothing real to show for your efforts but the sweat you so scorned. -I love sin. Women are stupid whores.”

“Oh my Harry! What a dreadful thing to say! – I really would love to suck your dick!”

“Ah the penis. Answer this Dorian, does the man control his sexual drive or does the drive control the man? We are but pawns to our natural desires. -I don’t believe in morals.”

“Does that mean you’ll spend the night? I’d like that ever so much. I just need to clear the other half of my jewel-encrusted bed. Those male prostitutes take up far too much room and Basil sent me another bouquet of roses. Third dozen this week, imagine Harry! The note said ‘I love you’ again, written in his own blood. Dreadful! Oh Harry I want you to impregnate me so badly!”

(Yes I know Basil's fate)

But Where's the Gay?

Since I didn't get to talk to a certain someone on the phone, I'm now unleashing this upon the internet.
-The long anticipated QAF vs. The L Word!
Believe it friends! It's here! I'm sorry I kept you waiting! Let me make it up to you with a long winded rambling about Showtime's programming!
Based upon having watched only one episode of The L Word!
Spectacular! (Shane's boobs disappointed me)

My analysis of Queer as Folk compared to The L Word:

I'm listening to bad pop radio at 2:22 in the morning to write this. You better love it. All zero of you that read this.

Alright, I know it's a little unfair to judge THE L WORD so soon, because I would probably cry a little if someone wrote up a review of the whole QAF series based solely upon the first episode. (I don't get me wrong, I love techno music and under aged sex as much as the next person.) I actually loved that sex a lot. And that episode. Damn. But I feel like sharing my thoughts.

First of all, THE L WORD opened up with Bette and Tina talking about 'making a baby'. Haha, a lesbian pregnancy in the first episode? That sounds eerily familiar! Except thank god there wasn't that blatant of a similarity. Though there is of course the Brian counterpart Shane. She's sexy as hell and confident. She's also a slut and a little insensitive. But doesn't seem nearly as emotionally stunted as Brian. She seems entirely pleasant around others. She doesn't make snarky, sarcastic or scathing comments to her friends. She isn't indifferent or self absorbed. She doesn't have a tortured past involving an alcoholic father and a hateful bigoted mother.
You can't win 'em all.

(I do love her though, I can't lie. I only wish I got to see more of her. PS I MISS YOU BRIAN. I'M GETTIN THE DVD SOON)

Secondly, moving away from that trivial comparison, THE L WORD overall seems to have been blessed with better dialogue. That I will give the show hands down. The actual writing/plot didn't strike me as any classier or more entertaining. I mean, Marina was stalking Jenny WAY too hard to pull off that thing. Ok, maybe it was a little more complex, getting into relationship troubles right away with Bette/Tina.
The biggest difference might be the characters, in that on QAF the cast is smaller and each person is very distinct from one another. They all have very different personalities. Emmet, Ted, Michael, Brian and Justin are clearly defined as people (though still surprise you). On THE L WORD, the characters seem a litter harder to separate and there's more of them.
I also feel like the cast was more diverse with the inclusion of prominent characters like Debbie, Vic, Daphne, Lindsay/Melanie. They covered all the bases, not exclusively one group. You have the mother, the uncle, the straight best friend, and of course the lesbian couple.

Third, I respected the portrayal of the straight relationship/ Jenny's boyfriend. I had read that men basically don't exist in THE L WORD universe and expected the few there to be shown as something lesser/undesirable/stupid ect. Now of course THE L WORD doesn't feature gay men the way QAF featured lesbians (so it seems) but there was a brief cameo. Haha, only a glimmer of hetero-phobia with the lesbains but nothing compared to the unrelenting Brian Kinney.

Basically I'm insanely biased and this analysis is worthless.
QAF has a special place in my heart. I will always associate that Showtime logo with one surly, antagonistic, secretly golden-hearted, fiercely loyal gay ad executive who happens to be addicted to sex. And who's madly in love with a boy 12 years his junior.
But Shane does have a sexy voice.

I don't know if anyone gets Logo or watches Jeffery and Cole/ VGL Boys but their series premiered and I finally watched it. It's kind of hilarious.
I wasn't so sure if they'd pull if off but I think this even funnier than their youtube stuff. Cole is a genius.

Here's a clip. Probably the weirdest part of the whole show:

<lj-embed id="174" />

WATCH AT LOGOONLINE.COM
You get to see both these freaks in their underwear. Tempting yes?
....
Anyone like my new icon? Look at that skill!
John Mayer inspired because I love "Room for Squares". Ah the memories.

Adam Lambert vs. God, part 36

Riding on the #gokeyisadouche wave, in case any Adam fans wanted something else infuriating, here is a story my ex-room mate told me that made me legitimately angry. I have mixed feelings about Danny, maybe in part because he seems to have a sense of humor/ some sort of kindness and the attack was pretty brutal.

Anyways, my friend was giving me a ride back to my house when she started talking about a recent sermon her campus church group had. She told me it involved Adam.
Apparently they sat everyone down and started to play the entire clip of Adam performing "Is Anybody Listening?" without introduction. When it finished the leader asked, "You know who that was?" - Adam Lambert. The same.
The student preaching mention how Adam had just come out as gay,
And yet, he of all people was singing a godly song? Isn't it weird how god works like that.
It just goes to show that no matter who or where you are, god reaches out to everyone. His word reaches even the isolated tribes in Africa who have never heard of Jesus AND Adam Lambert!

THEY BOTHERED TO USE ADAM AND HIS PERFORMANCE AS AN EXAMPLE
IN COMPARISON TO PEOPLE OF "GODLESS" NATIONS

My friend even tried to say it wasn't even in a negative way, it was POSITIVE, because God tries to reach everyone! And we all know God in a different way, even Adam Lambert!
How in the hell is this not treating Adam like a sinner. I can't get over that they went through the trouble of making such a huge example of him!!
