We left NANOG behind and headed east to the resort area of Punta Cana on the Bávaro Beach. It was a bit of a weird bus ride, we got
Christian from Akamai to take this pic. We look surprisingly happy
considering we had been on the road for almost 4 hours at this point.

arrived in SFO this afternoon, to be told that the American Immigration
system had crashed, after a brief panic by immigration officers, things
went through old school.

Steve (rootbeer1)met me at the airport, we grabbed a snack, and walked from their home in diamond heights to castro, where we passed a weird furniture shop and saw this in the window...

Well, made it into Philadelphia, and have been cursing the cold ever since. I took this pic yesterday while wandering around the pier and testing out the D90. Today I spent 3 hours walking round the city, even with 3 layers of clothing and a coat, its just bitterly cold.

We had lunch at the Korbel Deli before hitting the Moshin and Twomey Wineries for tasting. I am wondering why someone hasn't invented a drive thru wine tasting centre, but its possible this may be sending a mixed message :)

spent the afternoon yesterday with Davey (stsergius), Steve (rootbeer1)
and Jack (qbear) and the new Academy of Sciences building in San Francisco.
We lasted about 45 minutes, as it appears everyone else in SF had exactly the
same game plan.

davey,steve & jack .... before the crowds overwhelmed us

We also ate at an Indian restaurant where the owners are (rightly) proud of
their vegetarian food. Having the owner of the restaurant attempting to spoon
feed you is an interesting experience.
