Noteflight<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>will offer a <\/span>live, online composition masterclass<\/a><\/span><\/i> with acclaimed pianist\/composer <\/span>Conrad Tao<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Conrad Tao is one of today\u2019s most extraordinary young musical talents – The New York Times called him a performer of \u201cprobing intellect and open-hearted vision,\u201d while NPR Music called him \u201ca musician of deep intellectual and emotional means.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conrad will use Noteflight to explain the composition process and musical ideas behind his piece <\/span>A Walk (for Emilio)<\/i><\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/i> The Masterclass will include the live score of the work side-by-side with a video of Conrad himself. Viewer questions will also be taken\u00a0during the\u00a0masterclass.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The masterclass will offer insight into how Conrad conceived and created his new solo piano piece <\/span>A Walk (for Emilio), <\/span><\/i>written as part of his new Warner Classics album <\/span>Pictures<\/i><\/a><\/strong> and recalling one of his earliest piano teachers, Emilio del Rosario, who died in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conrad says of the work: \u201cI sometimes imagine spending time with \u2018Mr. D\u2019 today…I imagine the two of us talking about music as we always did. <\/span>A Walk (for Emilio) <\/span><\/i>is about those imagined memories. It alternates between ambling, freely lyrical passages and anxious, pleading, yearning chords.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the masterclass,\u00a0Noteflight\u00a0users will be able to submit their own scores to Conrad for constructive feedback via Facebook and email.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
