Notalon

Notalon is an open source project, created with the idea of helping students to take notes during classes and lectures more efficiently.

With the focus on easing the note-taking process, this utility offers basic formatting features, and has been particularly designed to store Cornell Notes, a technique used to summarize texts that consists in organizing concepts and ideas under keywords.
Notalon organizes text notes into books or lectures, dividing the main window into two main areas, with headings or keywords on the left, and text annotations on the right. Books and lectures can contain an unlimited number of notes that we can organize and move freely. We can also add additional information about them, such as author, year or ISBN in case of books, or course name, and professor for lectures.
As the aim of the developer was to simplify the note-taking process, text formatting features are very limited; we can only apply bold and italic styles to the text of our notes. There are also other editing options such as undo/redo, and cut/copy and paste. Additionally, the program can export our notes into PDF files.
Notalon is under constant development, and on the website creators receive suggestions and requests from the users. Also, it is available for PC and MAC.
